Just watched Internal Affairs again yesterday. I very much agree with you the film is 10/10. The only letdown is the finale between Richard Gere vs Andy Garcia. I believe some scenes were deleted as if you watch the trailer back it shows to the Movie's leading characters crashing through a window.
Two movies with Garcia I was wondering if you've seen. And if you have and remember them well, please share your thoughts of how you found them to be: 1989's Black Rain with Michael Douglas and 1998's Desperate Meadures with Michael Keaton.
Baby Mammoth34 Own both movies on DVD. Black Rain is okay, really like the production design of Japan. Desperate Measures is a so bad it's good kind of cheese ball thriller.
I seen it houre ago its crazy hardcore acting I loved this fantastic movie Masculine vs not .in the elevator he told andy macho men fuck alot and good I wish if they made him full evil like he told andy he doning it all for hes kids and thats a little bit slightly sympathetic .he still cold blooded killer and all but that motivation was a little bit lame or from other perspective he star to enjoy every thing he does because hes a psychopath and gave him self an excuse But anyway its fantastic i loved this movie i gonna rewatch it again looks their some delated or extended scenes No mercy was a good one for me with kim basinger Sad they don't make movies like this eny more
I agree this was a very good crime drama/ crooked cop movie and it was pretty intense but I haven't seen it in a long time so I don't remember everything about it. I thought Primal Fear was decent but mainly the ending is the best thing about that! Richard Gere can be a bad ass when he want's to be, I thought he was good in First Knight as well although it's nothing like this movie. The Jackal was fun with Bruce Willis blowing off Jack Black's arm off and making him human swiss cheese! Andy Garcia was scary as hell in The Godfather Part 3, ear biting and the way he killed those intruders was chilling!! He was such a psycho in that third movie and I think Part 3 is underrated as well. Pretty Woman is good but very overrated, I thought Officer and a Gentleman was his best love story film and Lou Gossett was very SGT. Hartman like!
austin willcut Here isn't given enough credit for how he can turn on his intensity in certain roles. I really like First Knight as well, although I remember it being a box office bomb at the time.
austin willcut It was a comment he made after 9/11 during some awards show and the audience booed him. He mentioned that we should be "peaceful" in these moments and the audience turned on him.
I think this movie needed at least one scene where Richard Gere's Dennis Peck does honest, good cop work. We needed to see why he was a well-respected police officer. I also don't think Gere's character needed to seduce (or try to seduce) every woman he came across. His aim should have just been about money. I guess Gere had to keep playing out the lothario image he was known for on screen, but it seemed unnecessary.
I think that might have made him slightly sympathetic, and that's why they made him totally evil. He has no moral center, complete sociopath only concerned with his own needs at the violation of others
Top ten favorite movie … fantastic!
@@Paris179 it's about as hardcore as a cop thriller gets. I wish there was a special edition of this on blu ray.
For some strange reason this wasn’t a hit perhaps it was too “dark” . Of course I got it on ITunes years ago … by the way it’s Gere not Here
Good evening from Tokyo. Indeed, Richard Gere had his best performance in 'Internal Affairs', as you have said.
I wish we could get a special edition blu ray. Will never happen though.

Officer and a gentleman was a tight film and Louis Gossett had some incredible bad ass one liners...

*Measures, not Meadures sorry

Never cared for 'Desperate Measures'. However, I liked Garcia in 'The Godfather III' and 'The Untouchables'. These films are classic.

I still like Richard Gere a lot but you mentioned in the video that Americans consider him a traitor, why is that? I've never heard about that.
Years ago, like 22, 21 years no less haha, I watched some of first knight on tv....I thought it looked decent.

Baby Mammoth34 Really like First Knight. It just flew under the radar.

Interesting point. Thanks for the reply!
Set in LA, aey? Why is it that that premiere us city has such constant unsavory activity, lol?
Like NY, it is also a default setting for so many crime/action films over the years...
