@@roscomcfarland204 I'm going to operate under the assumption that you genuinely don't know what ISO is since everyone finds out about everything the first time somehow. ISO is the International Standards Organization and they define standards for things that everyone internationally should use. As an American I generally don't pay a ton of attention to them in my day to day life since ANSI is more relevant to my work, but sometimes it comes up as what I'm doing. Unfortunately, despite being an international organization that standardizes things for everyone, you have to pay money to look at their standards directly, thus meaning that generally speaking how you look into ISO specifications is you go to Wikipedia and read the runes unless you're made of money. The fact is that the International Standards Organization has made it harder to adopt international standards. "Oh, but they're a company, this is how companies make money" you might say. WRONG! The paywall they have to keep us day to day regular engineers from reading the standards is essentially a racket
I've been wishing you'd use a banana for size comparisons for a long time. Knowing now that a banana is 0.8419 delicas long, I will be able to go back and watch your older videos and know exactly how everything you've reviewed compares to a banana. Thank you.
Adoption of this new measurement is the key to it's success. Everyone should own at least one Delica measurement tool, for easy reference throughout your day. How else would I know that the temperature is currently 87.27 Delicas outside today? I better bring a light outer layer if I leave the house.
Chicken noodle soup for the soul. Thank you for this, could we get a titanium measuring delica from knafs please? Gonna help me figure a lot of things out, once and for all.
I'm a nurse, and I'm going to start documenting patient pulses and resperations in beats/breaths per delica. Also, its not degrees Kelvin, it's just Kelvin.
This is the Greatest Scientific Advancement of our time. A unit of measurement that covers length, mass, time, frequency, AND temperature all in one? 😮 Could this be the key to the unifying theory of everything?
My hat is off to you sir for making a 12 minute video that I actually watched all the way through that will never benefit me in the least 😂😂. Hilarious
It took me about 30 seconds into the video to realize that it was April 1st. Nick, you are a man to be reckoned with. No holds barred, pure Tomfoolery.
Keep up the great work Nick, was curious what you’d post today. I need to start the paperwork for the “Woo Jung” which has been used by my family as a measure of relative meal cost….its the cost of a meal for a family of four at our local Korean restaurant, current value of the Woo Jung is about $125. Common usage “Shit, three chicken strip baskets and a beer at the ballpark, was more than a Woo Jung!” Or “You realize that snowboard rental for the weekend was a WooJung”.
Price is the obvious missing measure here. We would hear Nick say: "This Sebenza here costs 7 Delicas." That'd be both correct and informative, for comparison's purposes. "This Sencut costs half a Delica.", etc. Think about it Nick. We love you.
Hmm ... there's a problem. You also use a Rat2 for size comparison. I have a Rat2. But I don't have a Delica or ... more importantly ... a copy of the Delica standard. So what's my (and your) Rat2 in Delicas?
Nick, your thoughts on revising the Delica ISO standard to extend its use as a rating scale? This could unify all knife review content by pegging individual subjective ratings to a defined standard.
Watching this right after Metal Complex spoiled me a little on it, but I am grateful for your hard work in providing these measurements! 👏 Now, would you please review the Civivi Vision FG? 😙
Will your ISO-delica hold up as clearification for we, your viewers when our easthetics are tested e.g., placing the Delica perpendicular to the knife under review? Eh?
Love the new standard, although the Atomic Mass Unit comparison is kinda obvious. But dumb it down a little for your average listener. How does it compare to, say the Spyderco Delica knife?
Awesome vid Nick and truly the time has come for this standard to be applied worldwide and embraced by all. What on earth would we do without you Nick and your amazing insight in everything to do with our daily lives is truly a blessing that is bestowed upon us all 😊😊. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.
Ive collected only Enduras, would you simply double your standard? Thank you for standardizing in vg10. I do worry about how a waved delica anomaly could skew conversions. I can't wait to use this in daily conversations 😂
Best April Fools in a long, long time. On a more serious note, ASTM should take this new ISO Standard VG10-4 into committee and add it to their massive amounts of harmonized standards located behind a paywall.
I came to this a bit late but I note that there is an ambiguity. Is the sheet of paper A4 or US Letter? Vitally important if you don't want to be an April Foolscap...
I tried to like this video in Delicas, but I couldn't find the standard.
You moved fast on this. I was notified by my corporate office we were implementing this starting this morning! I'm not even employed!
Sadly, Europe will never see the wisdom of a locking folding standard.
they are not legal in england that's why we removed them out of the EU
I have to see how it converts to the Buck 110 iso boomers always fall back on
Germany allows you to carry a locking blade just has to be 2 hand opening
I wish the ISO paywall also was an april fools joke
I wish I knew what that was

That’s exactly where I thought he was going with the “new standard”
I'm counting every Delica until the Delica becomes standardized worldwide.
When using the Ideal Gas Law, I believe DELICA = [(n) (0.08206(L*atm)/(mol)) (294.922222)]^(1/5)
PV=nRT substituted as (DELICA^2)(DELICA^3)=nR(DELICA)
It's April first. Took me 30 seconds into the video to remember
He had me going longer than that. Once I saw the paper document hit the bench, I knew I was had 😂
Took me a minute 😅

Starting a new construction job tomorrow. Perfect time to start using a new standard of measurement
Be sure to keep the PDF file for the inspectors as they may still be using the "hoops and red tape" standard.
Love it! Especially 'all q's and comments directed to Metal Complex' in the foreword!😅
I'm a nurse, and I'm going to start documenting patient pulses and resperations in beats/breaths per delica. Also, its not degrees Kelvin, it's just Kelvin.
I said 'degrees Kelvin' so people wouldn't get confused with Kelvin, the former proprietor of Smooth Precision Pens. That's my story, clearly.
Kelvin has entered the chat!

Delica was my first knife. Carried for 20 years. A great comparison!
My hat is off to you sir for making a 12 minute video that I actually watched all the way through that will never benefit me in the least 😂😂. Hilarious
I'm a metrologists and this makes me very happy. Where do you get your delicate calibrated.
"I don't have any particle accelerators handy" and "There's no place like ohm" - LMAO
Nick you rhe man brother. If puffy calls , do not answer. Just let it ring
Nick did have a banger of a rap track sometime ago...

Nick, thankyou
I was so sick of doing these conversions myself
How does this Measure up to the "dollica". As a standard unit of currency????
37 Delicas per Dollica.
@@Tree_Stabbing_Troy ok ok 👍👍👍
Don't ever change, Nick.
Hats off. This will become a classic. The amount of detail that went into this video is great. Absolutely loved it.
I believe we have finally digressed and it was a beautiful thing!
i haven't watched this video yet but i agree with it completely
Price is the obvious missing measure here. We would hear Nick say: "This Sebenza here costs 7 Delicas." That'd be both correct and informative, for comparison's purposes. "This Sencut costs half a Delica.", etc. Think about it Nick. We love you.
I can't wait for Spyderco to include these specifications with every Delica purchase
Hmm ... there's a problem. You also use a Rat2 for size comparison. I have a Rat2. But I don't have a Delica or ... more importantly ... a copy of the Delica standard. So what's my (and your) Rat2 in Delicas?
This kept getting better and better as it went on. Kudos Nick! This video gets two Delicas up.
Nick, your thoughts on revising the Delica ISO standard to extend its use as a rating scale? This could unify all knife review content by pegging individual subjective ratings to a defined standard.
Nick never fails to set the standards in the knife world, and in general for being a pleasure to watch
I enjoyed this video way too much. Thanks for another great one Nick!
How is the factory grind and various states of home sharpening factored in?
Steel beams melt at 100 DELICA's
I love this video Nick. But are you perchance wearing a smart ring? And can we expect a video about it?
Watching this right after Metal Complex spoiled me a little on it, but I am grateful for your hard work in providing these measurements! 👏
Now, would you please review the Civivi Vision FG? 😙
Brilliant! So nerdy! Love it!
just what i needed on this humorless and gray day, thanks nick!
for clarity it is an opened delica, not closed.
This video is an absolute Delica - the ISO equivalent of an absolute gem.
Finally a Standard measurement I can get behind! Nick you're a genius!
This is the most important work you’ve done, very impressive!
i actually learned a lot about all methods of mesurements and the humour is top tier
I hope you had as much fun making this video as I did watching it. Honestly a thing of beauty, I couldn’t stop laughing 😂!!!
Thanks for always keeping the fun in funny! Well done and I am glad your committee has produced a document and standard for us all!! #DSKFS
I will be sending this to my shop foreman post haste! We need this new standard.
The new measure of Delica is well under the .05 p-value of Delica resulting in your finding being statistically significant. Congrats sir.
My only wish is that my astonishment at all this could be measured in Delica's. Thank you so much, Nick. You got it goin' on. Joe
Will your ISO-delica hold up as clearification for we, your viewers when our easthetics are tested e.g., placing the Delica perpendicular to the knife under review? Eh?
Or weighs around 3.696617151712e-36 neutron stars?
Next-level hilarity, Nick!! Good stuff as always!
Thank you for this. Just downloaded a copy to share with the world 👍😀
This puts everything in perspective.
This made my day - thank you for doing this amount of math for me to be smiling right now...
Love the new standard, although the Atomic Mass Unit comparison is kinda obvious. But dumb it down a little for your average listener. How does it compare to, say the Spyderco Delica knife?
What Is the Airspeed Velocity of an unladen Swallow?
Uncle Nick always making the Knife world better.
Have a very merry unbirthday.
I would like to propose an alternative to this ISO spec. That is, of course, the Arbitrary Shabazz Technical Measurement or ASTM standard.
Basic two knives for standards. Delica and Endura. It doesn't seem that long ego both would be used in all knife videos.
I can’t believe I watched the whole thing, I got the new standard and measurement right here!
Need Delica volume, density and mass conversions
Awesome vid Nick and truly the time has come for this standard to be applied worldwide and embraced by all. What on earth would we do without you Nick and your amazing insight in everything to do with our daily lives is truly a blessing that is bestowed upon us all 😊😊. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.
Sir this is so absolutely clever and as an Engineer I love the document to validate. I will raise you an BUCK 110 ISO
That's the non-metric equivalent.
You forgot to do economic measurement how much is the US dollar worth against Delica? What is the exchange rate of the British pound to Delica?
I need a Trapper Keeper with Delica conversion charts.
And a DeLorean time machine.
I need to drop a few Delicas before beach season, thanks for the reminder Nick
LMAO...I cant stop. I was an ISO 9001 auditor 25 yrs ago...yer killin me Smalls. The beauty of ISO...it is what you say it is. Aaaaaaahh
Ive collected only Enduras, would you simply double your standard? Thank you for standardizing in vg10. I do worry about how a waved delica anomaly could skew conversions.
I can't wait to use this in daily conversations 😂
😂😂 I LOOOOVE THIS CHANNEL! And I love you like that day for videos like this. THANK YOU!
When can I purchase an HP calculator that includes Delicas in its unit functions?
I see that you put in a maximum effort for introducing ISO Delica.
Great video. I never get tired of your reviews. The new window shopping is me watching your videos 😂
Did you check with the interpol before posting this vid??
What the hell is a Delica? How about doing this in Shaman? I did see all questions are to go through Metal Complex so I will be going to him next.
Well that makes sense… what’s the date today?
Very illuminating and helpful. Thanks Nick ✨
Thanks again, Nick. You never disappoint on this most important time of year.
Always a good day when I see a new video 🎉🎉🎉
Of course, now you can never, ever sharpen your delica
#DontUseYourStuff
Very good laugh. Esoteric even by your standards. Lovely. Thanks!
Happy April Fools day Brother. I purchased a Delica 4 so I could understand your standards.
How many Delica's worth of shenanigans included in this video?
My favorite part is that the document says all questions should be directed to Metal Complex.
Too funny!!! Awesome video… keep the Delica standard going..
Great video Nick 😂
Happy April 1st!
I, 4/1 am glad to see you stepping up your game.
How many delicas does it take to open a delica is now a perfectly sensible question?
Man oh man how many delicas did it take to print all that up?
Is this close to cubits? I still use that standard
I knew I forgot a unit...
Very well done Nick...very well done.
Best April Fools in a long, long time. On a more serious note, ASTM should take this new ISO Standard VG10-4 into committee and add it to their massive amounts of harmonized standards located behind a paywall.
Love you Nick
High praise brother
I was so confused watching this until I read the comments about the date. Thought you stumbled into the weed jar 😂
Beautiful. We could standardize speed limits with Canada at Delicas per hour.
No, Delicas per Delica.
I could definitely see this catching on. Nice work…
I love everything about this!
I came to this a bit late but I note that there is an ambiguity.
Is the sheet of paper A4 or US Letter?
Vitally important if you don't want to be an April Foolscap...
