Your comment about the interior of GM trucks is bang on... They have some of those most ergonomic interiors out there. If you want the chrome, flashy lights, and large screens, then go with Ram. I personally like how GM is sticking with analogue buttons - I want buttons, I don't want to have to go through a menu to find what I'm looking for.
FINALLY! Someone who gets the design philosophy of the GM interior. You RAM guys have a nice, plush interior, but you can keep your overload of electronics, glass and piano-black plastic. GM is comfortable, durable, uncomplicated but thoroughly modern and well built.
That is a beautiful truck. Hands down the sexiest HD on the road now. I have a 2016 GMC 2500 HD now and love it, I think in a couple years this will be my next truck.
Probably going to transition into fulltime RV life and need something other than my tundra to pull a 5th wheel, and this truck really caught my eye. You also get a new subscriber for the good review and being a fellow Arizonian
Hello my good friend. :) My husband and I love your reviews. You are one of the few channels on RUclips reviewing trucks that are honest. You highlight and speak to the things we are interested in out here on our ranch. Especially when you drive over the washboard roads. Imagine what we have on the ranch? Keep up the good work and we are always looking forward to your reviews. Could you please review a Nissan Frontier with the King Cab and four wheel drive? We are looking for a small truck to run-around in, but with a decent bed size, and would really like to know what you think about that affordable truck.
It's been a couple of years but I've owned three Frontier King Cab 4x4's (2005 SE, 2009 SV, and 2011 SV). These trucks spent a lot of time on logging roads and got hard use. All were great and I regret not buying a new 2020 replacement with the old 4.0L. I'm hoping the 2022 with the 3.8L will be as good but I haven't test driven one yet. I also do not have any experience with the Pro4X models and recently learned the King Cab Pro4X will only be available in Canada.
After having spent about 3 months driving this truck, I find it very comfortable and capable. I love the drive train and the road manners are astonishing compared to HD trucks of just a few years ago. Not expecting an interior like my Audi but this truck has just about every feature imaginable. If you do have interior prettiness and refinement on top of your list, you probably won’t buy this truck. I’m glad I bought it and I appreciate it more every day.
And the equivalent of buying a horse circa the turn of the last century... I’d love to have one, but it’s heartbreaking to think how obsolete this truck is before even rolling off the production line.
The tail gate turns into a sorta bench when u put the tailgate down and then open the extra part it’s for your feet like a step to get up or to rest them on
Lol in my opinion the 10 speed transmission keeps the driver from showing off his or her torque. The reason I say that is the trans is always keeping the motor up in the RPMs when the torque is down low. Transmission “10 speed” never up shifts, so you get this feeling that you’re constantly on the rev limiter. The 2019 6speed trans is far better for playing and having fun. If I had to guess I would say my 2021 Duramax is about one and a half seconds slower than my 2019 Duramax was, on a completely stock correlation
Nice truck I was driving one yesterday , but was Denali line. I am looking for new truck and was incline to go with 2020 Ram 3500 Diesel HO because of the Cummings engine , but after test driven one I can say Aisin trany in them are so crappy can't justified to go with Ram. They need to add more gears to stay relevant. IMHO Now my decision would be between GMC or Ford.
I own a 2018 hd. Great truck in LTZ trim with the duramax. The engine is a beast 915 pounds of tq is unreal. Smooth riding for a heavy duty , well as smooth as it can not a half ton ride by any means. Cheap interior in all 3, you can pick them apart all day only so much leather and suede can cover cheap plastic in every brand. My biggest gripe is recalls, 4 already in first year and a half of ownership. And still waiting i'n my engine block warmer cable, gm hasent made enough to this dare, and that was last fall they removed it. On a truck costs 73k good think a lot of these things should be done especially in last body style before they restamped it for new body panels. But great rescore, tell it how it is
Always wanted a truck like this. But with my third world teacher salary I'd had to save the 100% of it for about 9 years to be able to afford it. Lovely truck, awesome design.
I thought teachers make about $60k a year and this trucks is about $70k with the duramax so just finance it for 84 months because it will certainly last that long and a lot more
Kai Clark lol he’ll end up paying over 100k signing up for 84mo. And he said 3rd world, he may be in a tougher spot which is why he doesn’t get paid the amount you stated.
The white paint doesn't do it justice. Black or meteor gray is really attractive. Its large and in charge.... the interior lacks pizzazz. Good review as always Sam... thanks for the upload. 🌵🌴🌵🌵🌴🌵
I drove my dad's Ram 2500 a while back and it seems like this AT4 has a similar torque management. They seem slow. I'm new to diesel trucks (don't even own one, just shopping now). I don't understand how with 900lb/ft of torque this thing doesn't throw you back or roast the tires when you stomp the "gas" … okay "accelerator." #dieselthings. I have driven a number of cars with 400, 500, 600hp with similar torque numbers and some of those are REALLY quick/fast. Is there something in the truck that mitigates that full torque or delivers it so it's better at towing and not spinning?
evanescent03 it’s torque management to save the transmission. I know for sure the ram doesn’t get full torque no matter what until 2nd gear. These trucks aren’t for going fast and the ecu restricts torque to prevent damage. Shock to the drivetrain is what breaks parts, and instant torque causes that.
It has the power, believe me. You can probably buy a programmer that would get rid of that torque management. I have a 2009 chevrolet 1500 that has the same thing. It can't spin tires unless the road is wet. I one time switched it from forward to reverse while sitting stationery, than pushed the accelerator too soon just as it shifted into reverse. It barked the tires on dry asphalt , but then the computer caught up or something and cut the power.
I've never wanted to spend $100,000 dollars so badly. Looks beautiful but god damn that interior is shit, if i could take the interior of a f250 and slap it in this thing life would be great haha
Cheapest plasticy interior of the big 3. Not a fan of the ugliest of the bunch update looks either. I’ll stick with my 19 f250 Lariat CC Diesel. And mine was $7k less!
TOO HIGH OFF GROUND, makes driving in heavy CITY bumper to bumper real IFFY, in that it's difficult to see car distance in front, OH, DIFFICULT for people with short stature to get into CAB, the last GMC I had in 1980, was too high, when I took my mom to the store, had to park next to a curb, or get a step stool to get in & out of the 3/4 ton model (Was easier with base 1/2 ton model. NEXT rruck was an ISUZU PUP, drove it until 2004, reason, oil cooler leaked & parts for the GERMAN MADE DIESEL difficult to obtain.
@@XploreAz That's not the point. Sometimes on long trips you want the wife to take over to drive. In the last Ram we were going to buy she had the seat all the way up and couldn't see in front of her. That was a deal killer. I knew exactly what she meant as I got to her position and couldn't see in front of me. Sucked. It's not always about the "dude" driving. In an emergency if she has to drive it and HATES it and feels insecure in it then why buy it as a third vehicle. These trucks are getting to high.
@@XploreAz The last 4 x 4 I owned was a 1969 FORD BRONCO the first year a 302 V-8 was offered, was a LEMON, threw 3 CV joints on driveshaft behind gearbox the first year, when I found out how much the dealer got to fix under warranty, I got rid of it & bought the LEASED 1070 Ford Torino GT Coupe that earned me more speeding tickets in the 2 years I had it, went back to pickup's & haven't looked back.!
Has to be the worst year ever for GM, Killed the Corvette and unleashed the ugliest trucks ever made, 1/2 and 3/4, hard to believe someone signed off on these.

Took delivery of my 2020 GMC 3500HD AT4 May 11th 2020, and I have to say, it's probably the nicest truck I've ever driven...
I got the dodge 2500 limited is better then gmc tbh
@@donkiko6708 But your limited dodge payload is way lower than the GMC 2500 HD at4
you can also drop the gate down twice for a step and there is a handle on the left to pull yourself up

Arizona? Nice. Just ordered mine in metallic blue, hope it will come soon.
Only guy on RUclips that like the side marker lights. LOL

Very good looking truck. I think I prefer the new Sierra just a tad more than the big ram and definitely more than the boxy ford.
Nice review. Very thorough and honest!
I’m confused, can you point to your review of the current generation Ram 2500 diesel? I can’t seem to find it anywhere

An HD should have a stiff ride. It's designed to tow and haul, even an AT4.
Yes sir

Forgot the cam at the litle mirrir inside... that its nice... 👍😎👍
which model of the RANCHO shocks are they using as part of the OEM package no the AT4 models???
So cool. Very nice.
Great review also a nice pickup
Same options that are on the Denali but cheaper by 10g
blacked out but not cheaper!
Trademarked the double glove box? Do they not know other truck brands have had them for years?
Gm had them first

the tail gate is a step
What its the price on this trim level?
Like 90k$
Juan P Renteria this truck with just about everything you’d want is about $70k with the 6.6 Duramax
62k decked out with gas
How come you didnt show the tail gate folded all the way down with step deployed ? big omission dude.

It was stated in the video
how much ???? $$$ 500,000 dls
ADORABLE? Really?

Nice truck but you sir... you look gorgeous!!! FYI😁
Iv own six Chevy trucks since 2003 all diesel ,I’ve bought 3 work vans all Chevy and I will never buy another Chevy truck looking at those mirrors
