This video brought back a flush of memories. 13 year old me, getting ready for school. Popping in a 6 hour VHS tape in the VCR, full of music videos I had recorded over time! Still remember, this video came on right after my Chicago Bears' song "Superbowl Shuffle! 😊
Keep the good vibes flowing, Sista!! Much love!

It just occurred to me that in the USA the most popular song about Africa (Africa by Toto) was performed by white guys, and the most popular song about America (this song) was performed by black guys. 😄

Sweet! We used to groove to this song my first year of college, but we didn't have cable service, so this is the first I've seen of that video. James Brown stages Las Vegas revue promoting a Rocky movie, Rocky IV precisely, a bit of Cold War propaganda pitting Rocky against Drago the Russian, played by Dolph Lundgren. Many of the scenes in that video appear taken from that 1985 film, some clearly so, others maybe some realism -- all the road scenes, some of the city scenes, the diners, the stock exchange, the time cards... Four decades of change but a lot of that remains the same. The song was also used in the 1988 Eddie Murphy comedy Coming To America, in which Murphy plays Akeem Joffer, the crown prince of the fictional African nation of Zamunda, who travels to the United States in the hopes of finding a woman he can marry and love for who she is, not for her status or for having been trained to please him.

I love James Brown's sliding feet moves. You can clearly tell MJ copied him. Aspecially the move, when one leg/foot slides up towards the other stationary one. Sick move
