You basically have a private virtual tutor in your pocket 24/7 who can help you with your English. I'm talking about ChatGPT. It's an incredible new artificial intelligence program, which can help you with so many things. But today I'm going to explain how it can help you with your English vocabulary, reading, communication, grammar, phrasal verbs, and everything else. So are you ready to experience the future of language learning?
Listen, whether you're studying at home or at school or with a private tutor or with courses, that's great and keep doing what you're doing. But chatGPT is an additional tool that can just make the learning process easier for you. Because when you're not in class, when you're not with the teacher, when it's the middle of the night and you're desperate for an answer to help you with your English, then chatGPT is always there for you. So we're going to have a look today at 6 different ways that you can use ChatGPT to really expand and increase your knowledge of English. Let's get started.
So you're reading a book in English, or you're reading an article online, or some documentation for work, which is in English. And you find a word which is a key word that you don't understand and you want to learn it. So you could go to the dictionary and find the definition, but ChatGPT is a more interactive way of learning about that new word and seeing it in a variety of different contexts.
So for example, you could write in the chat on ChatGPT, what's the meaning of demeanor? And in about 2 seconds, it would give you a definition of that word. Maybe you don't understand the definition, so you can just write, please define it in simpler English. And in 2 seconds, it would give you a simpler explanation of that word. Then write, use it in a sentence. Again, it might give you a complicated sentence, so just write, use it in a simpler sentence, and it would give it you in a simpler sentence.
Now, the thing is about chatGPT is that little by little it learns about your preferences. So if you repeatedly ask it to give you things in a simpler version of English or in a more advanced version of English, it will learn your preferences and it will give you future definitions of words that you ask in the level of English that you have. I mean, isn't that cool?
Okay, let's have a look now at how it can help you with your grammar. As I said, it's like having a little private teacher in your pocket. So if you're having a problem with grammar, or if you're not sure about a verb tense or the difference between 2 words, you can ask chatGPT. It will give you an explanation to help you understand your problem, and it will also give you example sentences so you can see it in use.
For example, you could just write, Hey, what's the difference between despite and in spite of? And I would give you a big definition and a big explanation of the differences and how and when we use each one. And when you're asking for example sentences, I always think it's a good idea not just to ask for 1, but to ask for about 5. And then you can see it in different contexts and really get a feel for how it is used in English.

Everyone is talking about it these days so I was curious to try it out. Great, will use it more often, but it will never be a substitute for dedicated teachers who want the best for their students from the heart, like you Greg. The difference is palpable. The world would be poorer the other way. That is my firm conviction.❤

BTW GPT can explain not only in English and in your native language as well.
And you can give him a prompt to be your personal trainer for any topic. E. g. he can ask you questions about propositions one by one and correct you if you answered wrong and at the end he can count answers and tell you the results.

Most students will not use computers and other devices to study. They will simply watch movies and play games. Teachers have to be there to push you into studying. To make you sit down and pay attention to their lessons, apply tests to assess your progress in a subject and prevent students from killing each other!

Perhaps some students did use their laptops to study during the worst days of the pandemic, but I am almost certain, that, in the majority of those cases, there was a teacher pushing them to study sitted at some desk linked to the internet. Sorry, but you cannot get rid of us that easy!

Too much "chatgptism" everywhere lately. Agreed, it's a good tool for doing many different things, but...
A lot of people are totally hipnotised by the chat. They idolise it too much. They think it to be unmistakable. But it's not. So, I agree 💯 chat GPT is a great helper, but not a teacher or an unreplaceable creator of anything like many people think.
