Angelina decides for herself. When it comes to the actual training and choice of songs etc., it has always been Angelina who made all the choices and decisions. Parents and others, on the other hand, have asked her to take it a little easier sometimes. Angelina is very special and her own driving force. Ever since she was 3-4 years old! Of course, all relatives and frends, have helped and protected her. Angelina and her closest, decided early on that she would have as normal a childhood as possible. Even when she won NGT, 8 years old, many wanted to sign a contract. Everyone was dismissed! Even Disney. And this Norwegian girl sings in English! Do you know that she speaks several languages. I'm so grateful for everything she gives me. / A Swedish Viking
Hi Lucy!...shock number 2..lol..You totally understand, every time I hear Angelina at NGT I am blown away, timing, tone and voice out of this world, I congratulate you for starting from these performances and therefore understanding the growth of this immense talent, thank you have a good life... Massimo🥰
No explanation needed🤯LOL We’re thankful that she shares her gift with the world, and are so grateful we get to experience her musical journey. Thanks for your reaction😄
I will remember this performance all of my life, it is simply so beautifully stunning and knowing the original only makes me love it more! A lovely heartfelt reaction as well.
She was introduction to Jazz by her grandmother, but then according to her mother quickly search für songs on RUclips on her own. At about two years old...
I must have heard this a hundred times and yet again I’m in tears! That’s her magic, that’s her power..I’ve never known anything like it in all my life..be careful..she’s addictive! 😁
Great reaction, thank you. This was the first time I heard this little fairy sing, 9 years ago and I've been hooked ever since. In all these years I have listened to she thousands of times in hundreds of splendid interpretations and yet every time I see this first performance of hers at the age of 7, it makes me move again, like the first time, with that wonderful concentration of humility, simplicity, candor , sympathy and talent. 💛🧡❤
Angelina's fans, called Angels, know exactly how you feel. We've all been through this. A dime for every goosebumps she's caused in the last 10 years and you'd be rich. I wish you a lot of fun with your further emotional journey and I guarantee you that it doesn't matter which song you listen to from her. You will often be surprised and never disappointed.
Here is the quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Auditions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on RUclips before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Gloomy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. "
Dear Lucie, Angelina started singing at age 1,5, and shortly after discovered Jazz at her grandparents, At age 3 she started practicing singing for around 36 hours a week. Later with videos to control her singing, we see them now. At age 4 she entered the music academy of OSLO to learn the technical aspects of her craft. Elmar from Germany. Paul Wagner and the others will introduce you deeper into Angelina Jordan (AJ).
THANK YOU SO MUCH for playing this! Angelina puts the song/music and lyrics first. To convey the message of the text and music to the listener. That's what a real artist does! Angelina is a master at this. Then, of course, she has a huge toolbox with various voice tricks to pick out if she wants! Angelina doesn't focus on showing off with spectacular high or long notes etc! Unless it is required to convey a feeling to the listener. She doesn't belong to the type of singer who "look at me singing"
As good as she is here, she only gets better as she advances in the competition. She sings "I'm a Fool to Want You" acapella, then "Bang, Bang" and, finally, "Summertime" from George Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess" operetta. The improvement is remarkable.
she won the contest the moment she started singing ! They just had to make it actually look like everyone else had a chance as a formality ! Go Angelina !!
To answer the question in general terms (about singing jazz) - she's been hearing it since she was born because her grandma is a big fan and used to play it all along. When Angelina was able to do a YT search herself, she picked out her favorite jazz tunes herself when she was VERY young. There is a very revealing documentary about their early years by Alan Papier and Pontus Oesterlin - probably answers most questions about it: ruclips.net/video/jE6x9V8Cnyw/видео.html About the special part (why that particular song) - she responded to this in an interview some time after the show: "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Recently saw a video of the top 10 female singers of all time, and while I might disagree with some of their choices, I believe Angelina Jordan Astar will join that list one day! She is sure headed in that direction!
Wonderful reaction sweetie. Please react to Angie's next performance from that show. It was "I'm a fool to want you" by Billie Holiday. She 7 turning 8 and she's already adding her own spins on songs back at these ages. Believe it or not, she gets better with each performance.❤

Hello Lucie, Angelina listened to jazz because her grandmother played it to her. She grew up with the greats of jazz and has internalized jazz. But she also has the ability to reinterpret the songs. She has been arranging the songs since she was 7-8 years old. She transforms the old songs into the present and makes them accessible to the younger generation. I recommend you another great singer with an enormous voice: Amira Willighagen. She was born in the Netherlands on March 27, 2004 and lives today in South Africa. She is now 18 years old. In this video she was only 10 years old. -Amira Willighagen - O Mio Babbino Caro - HD - André Rieu (Love in Venice) Maastricht - 2014 - ruclips.net/video/66-A2MyVDbU/видео.html Hace a nice day and Greetings from Germany

For those who don't realise why he asks if she knows what the song is about, it's because it has another name "Hungarian suicide song" if you listen to the lyrics it becomes very apparent.
Yes, but as always she doesn't sing the rough lyrics, grandmother Mery Zamani and Mother Sara Astar made sure she changed or rearranged the lyrics to be age appropriate and continued to do that throughout her singing career until adulthood! She rewrote Back to Black and rearranged Bohemian Rhapsody, as an example, to be age appropriate! Mery being the poet she is, as well as a famous artist, I'm sure helped Angelina learn to make these adjustments!
