I like that the Day shift has a normal set of rules, while the night shift carries a special set. That was nice of Barbara to give him a pass an account of it being his first night.
Awe Barbara is so cute taking the expired and damaged goods, cleaning out the store. At least she was considerate that it was the character’s first day. Except for the fact of her digging into his arm lol.
When I was in college I worked an overnight shift from 10pm-6am restocking grocery shelves and setting up displays so I didn’t have to deal with customers but I can say the strangest folks shop in the middle of the night.
I love that you have stuck with showing your self during your narrations. It's different from all the other people I listen too. Plus your voice is so soothing to listen to. You are my favorite narrator. You have made me a huge fan of yours.
“….Here, Here…I concur, haven’t been listening or watching long, just happened upon these and got hooked, going on just two weeks now…but, I can’t stop”!!! G-MOMMEE
The reason the onscreen narration works so well (for me at least) is that the accompanying facial features and gestures make the storytelling more intimate and natural. Competing story channels have other pluses like alternating voice casts or more variation on accents, but this is the first to my memory to do this style; and it's actually a unique move that doesn't feel gimmicky.
He truly brings a story to life like nobody else. He gives every character different voices and accents most of the time, does an immaculate job with the sound effects, and now even shows his face and really gets into character with the onscreen narrations. Truly the best of the best on RUclips. There are other good narrators, just nobody else does what Stephen does. Definitely my favorite.💀
I LOVE the stories set in stores - especially grocery stores (perhaps because as a former Soviet citizen, I LOOOOOVE shopping in American stores I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM lol). The morphing graphics are awesome, and seeing Stephen narrate is fantastic (let's be honest: the man is VERY easy on the eyes). Great story, keep 'em coming!
“….Say it louder so everyone, everywhere can come join…I can’t get enough, I’ve just happened upon them and it’s only been a couple of weeks but, I just can’t get enough”!!! G-MOMMEE
OK Y’all do know that’s not a real person telling the story it’s A.I. a deep fake look close and You can kind of tell especially if YOU are aware of these deep fakes krazy right
NGL, this sounds less stressful than when I worked at Fry's Electronics. Just bring a few books and something to charge your phone for music or whatever and you're golden. This sounds easy as heck.
man i love these "rules" stories. Usually not insanely scary, so I listen to these to help me sleep. I remember a few times i was listening to some other stories and i couldnt sleep those noghts cuz i got too scared lol. But i cant stop, these are too good to listen to!
Once again, I adore this new format of visual narration. Your talent and taste for quality stories are absolutely phenomenal! Thank you for what you do.🥰
Lol!! Always my favorite go to too! And thankfully I have a great handful of narrator's stories. And you are right, the rules story's are awesome! And if you haven't done so yet check out his national parks story's. This guy I mean, Stephen. His narrations of the National Parks story's. Especially the ones about his father in the National parks.
You know, with how many of these encounters you've survived LH, you'd think you'd learn to be more careful lol. Your narrations are always good, keep it up!
Although EVERY story Lighthouse narrates is great...i cant help but LOVE the grocery store stories...every one of them!! 😂 Thank you for what you do my guy!! 😊👍💜
❤ lighthouse!! I actually almost flipped out entirely two nights ago when the internet connection went down for 20 mins ! I was freaking out saying how am i gonna get to sleep without my stories!! ❤❤❤❤ my husband looked at me like i was completely nuts!! I have been an insomniac my whole life , but since i started listening to lighthouse i fall asleep so quickly! Its changed my LIFE !! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!
Man, it is the BEST this journey you take us on! This is sounding like a FANTASTIC ONE! I know i have been bugging you for years. How’s that original vampire story of yours going? My friend thank you for all the hard work & creepy good times you give is! 🔥👊😄🔥
I wish we could have silent cartoon episodes to go with these stories 👍🏻it’s nice to see the stories instead of the narrators telling them sometimes. Thank you for entertaining us 👍🏻👏🏻❤️
I love your narrations ❤, you have such a great talent, i enjoy stories that have the “rules” to follow, and I really enjoy when you voice the characters in the story in such a seamless way, I would love to hear you narrate a Terry Pratchett novel.
This story was really spooky. Your voice and narration placed me inside the store, the noises, the smells everything about it was unreal. I love your channel and unique stories. Thank you. Have a great week. 👋
I had a mean ass Chipoodle. He was my best friend and once through himself down a flight of stairs to get to me when he heard me screaming at my brother. We were just playing and got to loud but he was in deep sleep and woke up terrified and flung himself down the steps ( I heard it but didn't see it) he came roaring and running towards my brother in blind fury just to stand between us and snap at his ankles. God I loved that dog but he took his battle to the realm beyond this mortal one. No doubt tormenting the devil's and keeping me safe from beyond. But yeah he was a warrior so that similie just doesn't ring accurate 😂.
I just found this channel yesterday while trying to fall asleep during the day (I work the night shift) And can I just say I am addicted to this, LOVE the plot! I work at a hospital and not gonna lie sometimes it kinda feels like this story😂😂😂
I get so excited when I see a new Lighthouse video!!! No matter what I’m watching, as soon as I see that notification, I try to click immediately!! Tonight though I waited until after dinner, with the dishes done, coffee’s done, bowl packed and I’m ready to GO!! Thanks for all the hard work, love!!!
Yay my fav lighthouse stories 😊 a list old Rules 🙂🙂 loved this story and of course your narration was great. I love seeing you interact with your stories 🥰🥰 great job
I really liked this one, definitely a really good one to listen to on my commute home tonight. Love this was so much and would be so awesome if it ended up being like a series. Thank you for an awesome narration an amazing story.
You almost always drop a new story when my anxiety rises for one reason or another. Very convenient and of course they are consistently great as always. PS: I said 500 k would be done by December maybe half a year ago. 🙃
Thank you Stephen for the awesome pasta. Definitely made my night, and love you appearing in the story. Top notch work as always. I always love it when you post.🖤🖤🖤🖤
Love the AI illustrations (..I guess that's what you'd call it.. it's all I can think of to refer to it; if I'm wrong though please feel free to *politely* correct me..) you've added to the stories ! And of course, yourself as well- nice to put a face to the voice I've been listening to for so long now!! :)
The song by Lionel Ritchie and the Commodores was playing in my head, "Night Shift", did it have anything to do with this store? Thanks for another great story, I enjoyed it. Now I have to search for more. Great narration.
”There are consequences Morbid consequences Crueler than ever imagined Oh yes, there are consequences Bloody consequences When you don't follow the rules.”
Oh Lord. I’m trying to get a job at a grocery store, am I gonna have to worry about this kind of stuff? I suppose it would keep things interesting tho lol
Got mixed up with the one ,with not wearing red ,but I love all your stories ,some of us can't get out or do things as much as we like 💖 so home is where I am
It's refreshing when the protagonist actually makes an honest attempt to follow the rules.
Ikr didn't even pull the whole "this must be a joke" card which I really was expecting
Barbra’s voice creeped me out bigtime
Right? Usually the protagonist makes it their mission to break every single one purposely.
@@guitarian9245I mean to be fair most of the time the rules are insane so I mean you can’t blame them
Facts
I like that the Day shift has a normal set of rules, while the night shift carries a special set. That was nice of Barbara to give him a pass an account of it being his first night.
I love how he didn’t find the rules suspicious like everyone else does 😂 he took them totally seriously and didn’t question it
Like u should
Must be a very high paying night shift to put up with a very high chance of curtain death
Awe Barbara is so cute taking the expired and damaged goods, cleaning out the store. At least she was considerate that it was the character’s first day. Except for the fact of her digging into his arm lol.
Cute? I guess that's...a way of looking at it.
@@ArcanineEspeon I just meant it as her being kind/considerate to take out the expired things so that the customers have fresh food.
Barbra was actually really nice about the slip up.
“Ok, it’s your first time here and you’re new so I’ll let it slide but don’t do that again, okay?”
As a former grocery store night worker, I can confirm this is indeed the way we operated at night. 😨😵💫
The Wife here. I can confirm that working nights that this is just another night another dollar.
I hated the night shift. The only thing worse was the Sunday morning shift
Thank you for the support on that!
He’s my favorite also
“….Here, Here…I concur, haven’t been listening or watching long, just happened upon these and got hooked, going on just two weeks now…but, I can’t stop”!!! G-MOMMEE
Seems like Barbara shouldn't have to pay for expired/damaged goods. If anything, the store should pay HER for removing that stuff 😂
The reason the onscreen narration works so well (for me at least) is that the accompanying facial features and gestures make the storytelling more intimate and natural. I usually listen when I'm about to go to bed!
@@kentworchThe only problem with the voices was that of Barbra, who was supposed to have a childlike voice, if I remember correctly.
I prefer the old way.

Yes. Yes he most DEFINITELY is!❤
Woah, what was it like being a citizen of the Soviet union?

Id push him up against the sauce shelf!😘
Oy Blin Tovarishch, enjoy the consumerism;)
VERY easy on the eyes! ❤
"As threatening as a Chihuahua"? She must be terrifying, then...
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 For Lighthouse Horror! Came for one story, stayed forever. Addicted to this channel.

Thank you Lighthouse for the great story ❤️. As someone who's first job was at a grocery store I probably would've cried 😢
This reminds me of another grocery store that's really old but that's a tale for another time
Thank youuu for a new upload. I'm super nervous about my flight tomorrow and this is perfect to calm down to. Love your narrations!

Always a great night when Lighthouse posts!! Thanks for another great story! And really enjoyed the graphics! (Barbara is frightening!🤣)
So…Claire worked night shift, seven days a week for 20 years? Without a day off? No wonder she collapsed.
I want a sequel from her perspective on the day she collapsed.
Although EVERY story Lighthouse narrates is great...i cant help but LOVE the grocery store stories...every one of them!! 😂

All facts real talk
Rules: Do not look in Barbara's face.

12 items or less Barnaby’s Express lane.

I use my 8 hour shift at Walmart to listen to your longer stories. This one about to hit real different 😫
Oh man keep doing the backgrounds like that. You are the grocery man story teller of lore!
Another great video that has made my day. Thank you so much for another awesome narration.
The script: "The voice was young, almost childish..."
Lighthouse Dafoe: "GODSPEED, SPIDER-MAN!"

The way you tell the tale is really eerie. I could feel goosebumps crawling on my arm. 😮
I love the frame delay. It really sells almost a live action video game aesthetic from a bygone era. Kind of inhuman, but interesting to watch
I was on my nightly lighthouse binge and this pops up, so awesome. I really enjoy rhe new video's with you in them.
Okay but Barbara was a shockingly nice old demon lady. Very polite of her.
A new list story narrated by my fave. Thank you! And thank you to the author! Great one 😊😊
I love the way you tell the stories
This is the best horror channel i have come across. You tell the stories so we'll. It's like I'm right there in the story it's self.
Sounds like a freaking Walmart. I have 10 years to that Lousy company. It harbors all kinds of evil and monsters. Especially since Walt died.
