Ngl sounds kinda like Stranger Things…but yea like what the actual crap is this? It’s like they couldn’t pick a genre and it hurts to watch the actors go through the scenes knowing it too.
They're based from the original comics which started off as comedy comic strips that had a bunch of kinda spin offs like Archie, Jug, and Betty becoming superheroes and many more. There were also supernatural stories but at its heart it's a light hearted comedy comic series with no organized storyline. When the show Riverdale came out, it was marketed as a reimagine from the comics as a serious crime murder drama. As someone that has been familiar with the original comics before the show came on, I was not surprised the show went in this kind of direction.
After the comet exploded, Archie and the gang awaken in front of an enormous oak tree. Overjoyed at the sight of so many acorns, he tosses away with his own acorn. Scrat attempts to remove the nuts from the tree for Dagwood, but Juniper is unable to and soon discovers that it is only a monument of some sort, with a commemorative plaque on it reading “Here Stood The Last Oak Tree”; Archie and the whole gang are in the distant future, where 50s are extinct. But this time, they see a future Jamie Turner (Bill St. James), who welcomes them.
