Used to be a singer in a metal band call Seasons Of The Wolf for 20 years till I ran away when I couldn't continue with performing while trying to keep up with my addiction. There were other reasons as well.That was 15 years ago. Now I feel like I've been sitting on my ass and wasted my gift for 15 years. When I hear stuff like this it inspires me and makes me cry at the same time. This is a beautiful song. If I ever actually get off my ass and start rocking again I can see myself reaching out to you and begging you that I can cover it! 😁🥰

Girl this is an amazingly beautiful song and it speaks for so many women out there that need to help their inner voice to come out. You wanted to know if it sounds like if you're a smoker no it doesn't at all and the genre is hard it's got that country/gospel/R&B vibe lol that probably doesn't help but to narrow it down I think I'd put it under country for sure. Good luck and just be you. Your changes and letting us all into your life, have been so helpful to me, and to everyone else who thinks it's "just them", who have "those feelings of anxiety and hopelessness". Through your singing and your lives. Its all been so impactful on my life in particular that's for sure. I also had a few years feeling like I was around actors who were just humoring me. I couldn't look anyone in the eye.

I love it! You asked on Facebook if it sounds like you’re a smoker when you sing, no. I don’t think so at all. Two, you asked if it sounds like country music. Maybe a little bit. I wish I could always have accurate closed captions or written lyrics in the bodies of all new songs I wanna learn inside out correctly. Ableism sucks. You're amazing. Being hard of hearing since a young age is annoying af. People are rude as a society. We think of the dis-abled or different able bodies as an after thought and the proof is everywhere.
You're doing stellar, Chanda. I'm more thinking outloud about how hard it is for even myself to remember to use the correct language and do the extra work to make myself more accessible (for the right people considering boundaries and all) and demand businesses etc do the same. Also asking permission to trauma dump and hug etc.

I really love this song.. I've been very interested in all of your music whether it be rap or song or a hybrid combination of both. I don't feel your voice sounds too asppy like you smoke cigarettes. I loved the look in the white dress, but I understand you not comfortable in dresses. I do applaud you for going out of your comfort zone. That takes guts, but it's a great experience in growth. I do think "YOU DON'T GET TO TELL ME" has a slight country feel to it, I think because of the message in the song, but to me you are unique, one of a kind, and wonderfully made. You don't fit into anyone's mold but GOD'S. I feel blessed to have happened upon your Facebook page a few months ago. I love your transparency and courage as well as your faith.
