I got mine in 2020. I consulted with Extron back then and an engineer from their team responded. They sent me firmware version 2.35 and a PDF with the firmware release notes and the Signal Processing Products Control Program. I found the Firmware Loader on the Internet Archive. I updated the "new" firmware through the serial port and also accessed the scaler's configuration from there. Mine had 2.30 FW. He also asked if I had any issues with the device. I mentioned that when I connected my Neo Geo MVS directly to the RGBs input without a line doubler, 15khz, the image was visible but very unstable. He said he would look into it. Some time later, he replied that since it was discontinued, nothing more could be done. Nevertheless, I thanked him very much for the attention.
That's pretty awesome stuff! Thanks for sharing! I'd love to see how this would scale on a newer generation flat screen. How do you like that thing compared against the Retro Tink?
Thanks! And you bet! As far as comparing this to the RetroTink products, it would probably depend which one you're comparing it to. In general though, I think the RetroTinks would be better at scaling since they are specifically designed for video games. The only RetroTink I have is the 4K model, and that scaler is overall better than this Extron scaler. But this Extron does still have some advantages over it - like more inputs and a VGA output. Plus you can find these for a lot less than the RT 4K!

Oh wow! Thank you for that detailed information. I'll have to see if I can update mine as well!
Thanks for the blind setup. Worked beautifully
Oh cool - I'm glad it worked!
