Slats/flaps are slow because in EMER ELEC you will lose DC BUS 2 which powers SFCC 2 (Slat Flap Control Computer). If one SFCC is inop, both slats and flaps operate at half speed (FCOM DSC 27 30 10 GENERAL).
You should be able to do the normal extension because the green system, but are the LGCIUs connected to the essential bus? if not you have to do the gravity extension
generally what happens if you execute a wrong step in the ECAM action? will the computer tell you how to fix it? and what if you accidentally clear all the ECAM actions?
My answer to your question on LDG retraction on Go Around is, no retraction of LDG on 2 primary reasons. 1. You don't have hydraulics to retract the gear up. Even the gear doors will stay open. When you hand crank the gravity gear extension tiller 3 times, it will depressurize the hydraulic system for LDG retraction and extension, open up gear door up-locks, release the gear holding up-locks. So that will eliminate all the chances of gear retraction once extended using gravity gear extension. 2. In case of a dual engine loss, You will be in Elec Emer Config and will have to execute the landing whether you like it or not as you don't have any thrust from the engines for a go around. Please do correct me if I am wrong Captain. Thanks for sharing this video. 🙏
Good attempt in answering the question Isuru. The landing gear can be retracted as long as there is green Hydraulics. If it an elec emer config with Both engines running, you will perform a normal landing gear down procedure (no gravity extension). If it is a dual engine failure and it is a forced landing then we have to perform a gravity gear extension. In this case we cannot reset the free fall system and cannot retract the gears.
@@Captain_SQ thanks Captain for the detailed answer. I was under the impression that during a Elec Emer Config engines power isn't there. My bad. Now I understand during a dual engine failure, aircraft goes into a Elec Emer Config condition and Elec Emer Config can happen even with both engines running.
Sorry if my question is so weird. I dont understand that why the RAT IS operative , the ECAM indicates inoperative equipment. I think that when Emer Gen is running, the green, yellow hydraulic systems will be fully operated
Elec Emer Config is only when 25% of the systems is being powered. To run the RAT, you need blue Hydraulics. If you have all 3 Hydraulics, but AC1 and AC2 fails, you would still be ELEC EMER Config provided that the RAT is functioning. I hope I answeres your question.
@@Captain_SQ thanks Capt for replying. I thought when in ELEC EMER Config , we will lost all 3 Hydraulic systems. right now , i know its really wrong . thank you for blowing my mind
@@NamNguyen-ti1nf Hello Nam. You dont necessarilly lose hydraulics green and yellow in this condition because these systems are powered by EDPs, which do not rely on electrical power. Elec Emer config will likely be the result of the loss of both engine electrical generators. Cheers!
Yes if one is inop, then select reversers on both thrust levers. In this particular elec emer config, you have both inoperative so you just select it to idle and use the brakes, maximum 1000psi
Hey Captain sq. If you have induced emerg elec as part of the qrh smoke, when you reset gen 2 at 2000’ how many systems will be restored? Do you remain in alternate and then direct law at gear down because the adirs 2/3 have been depowered and can’t be restored? Can’t seem to find a straight answer, cheers.
I know, the comment is more than a year old but anyways: As far as I understand it, the normal electric configuration ist being restored prior landing to ensure normal braking. If you kept the elec emer config in the smoke configuration for longer than 5min, the IR‘s 2+3 will be lost for the remainder of the flight, thus the flight control law will not recover to normal law. In theory, there is a dirty trick to keep the IR1 & 3 powered during the ELEC EMER Config to e.g. allow recovery of normal law and a CAT III single autolanding. This however would require a switching of the ATT/HDG Selector to „CPT 3“ (and back to Norm every 5min???). This is not part of the procedure and drains the battery more than airbus intended with the procedure. Also this will considerably increase the crew‘s workload. I have also never tried this in the simulator, so I can not provide first hand experience with this technique.
Captain I have a question. In case of a dual engine loss can the APU be used until the aircraft is landed to supply the electricity for aircraft and to run the AC packs while the RAT will pressurize the Blue HYD system for flight control actuating?
@@Captain_SQ got it. Thanks Captain. As I remember the fuel feed for APU goes from the left wing tank. If the pumps are INOP during a Elec Emer Config, please explain how the fuel supply is given to the APU to start.
@@Isuru14 good question. when we are in electrical emergency configuration, the APU ECB starter , APU fuel LP valve and APU fuel pump is still operating normally.
@@Captain_SQ RAT pressurise the BLUE HYD SYS hense SLATS will be available. Like wise we still have YELLOW HYD SYS which helps in the operation of FLAPS. So we do have both of these two systems still i didn't understand why its operation is SLOW?
