Spain's southern neighbor, Morocco, went through a tumultuous history of European colonization in the 19th and 20th century, despite being one of the world's oldest independent states. Just a little detail, before the Berbers attacked the Visigoths, Ceuta was already a Visigothic city.
Fun fact, the English and American generals that planned the landing in Normandy, based their plans in the landing during the RIF war.
Wasn't it from their experience invading Italy?
