Ukraine has fought valiantly, but the Russian army they're facing today isn't the same one that tried to take them out with a swift stroke nearly 2 and a half years ago. This one is better led, better experienced, and better equipped than ever thanks to Russia's allies in the East...and they have developed a modern doctrine that appears to be working.
I would like to mention that these are not pontoon bridges. These are short span gap bridges. Similar to what is seen on an engineer AVLB in the US army. There are some variants that are truck placed, but those are rare. The bridge placed in the video is not a pontoon bridge though as it's not floating at all.
To be honest, best lack to Ukraine, but as an Pole, my blood is boiling when I see red-black flags on ukrainian units. That's the moment when my sympathy for them just dies instantly.
i think the Ukr elite units will be able to give the Russians a punch, but the Russians SHOULD be able to adjust and bring up reserves / overwhelming firepower against them. we'll see. as for these elite units they can't be everywhere at once.

I recall a video ref the Viet Nam war, where in the narrator (I believe Erhard was his name) told of receiving Time Magazine when he was a marine on the battlefront. To make a long story short, he stated that the war, as being reported by Time, was not the war he was fighting in Viet Nam. He was reading about "the" war, but it was not the war he was fighting. I don't trust casualty claims from any side simply because it's impossible for anyone to know an exact number of enemy casualties much less your own. When Ukraine hits a trench or vehicle with an FPV, they just assume that there were a lot of people inside and everything was destroyed. But, that's usually not the case as a hit doesn't always mean a kill.

As soon as it became apparent that the Russian Kharkiv incursion had been a complete failure, and that they were now suffering heavy casualties both in Ukraine and across the border in Russia, he decided to stop making videos on it. Also he still hasn't made a video on the Kursk incursion (which has gained a lot more land than the Kharkiv one) but did heart a comment calling it a ''PR operation.'' There's a video of a convoy containing an entire battalion's worth of conscripts being annihilated, I don't think that's what you'd call a ''PR operation.''

Ukraine has fought valiantly, but the Russian army they're facing today isn't the same one that tried to take them out with a swift stroke nearly 2 and a half years ago. This one is better led, better experienced, and better equipped than ever thanks to Russia's allies in the East...and they have developed a modern doctrine that appears to be working.
A small note. The Russian troops fighting in the Kharkov direction mainly consist of new units, not veterans.

I would like to mention that these are not pontoon bridges. These are short span gap bridges. Similar to what is seen on an engineer AVLB in the US army. There are some variants that are truck placed, but those are rare. The bridge placed in the video is not a pontoon bridge though as it's not floating at all.

i think the Ukr elite units will be able to give the Russians a punch, but the Russians SHOULD be able to adjust and bring up reserves / overwhelming firepower against them. we'll see.
as for these elite units they can't be everywhere at once.
It doesn't matter. The Kharkov front is a distraction. That why the Russians just have basic artillery support and almost no armored vehicles. The whole point is to siphon away combat ready Ukranian divisions from other vital sections of the frontline.

I don't trust casualty claims from any side simply because it's impossible for anyone to know an exact number of enemy casualties much less your own. When Ukraine hits a trench or vehicle with an FPV, they just assume that there were a lot of people inside and everything was destroyed. But, that's usually not the case as a hit doesn't always mean a kill.
The sooner Ukraine start negotiate is better because day by day loosing more land, once Russia captured terrotary it will not give up. Harsh reality
