Thanks a lot 3m and DuPont for PFAS and PFOS
Yep , they are in Dordrecht, Chemours/DuPont, also.
PFAS is everywhere in The Netherlands.
You should see how the managers of Chemours defend themselves.
Totally like a dictator who doesn't care.
The government/s hasn't got clean hands either ofcourse.
One after the other.
An that all got sued. These Dr's work from prime don't listen to them.
This needs more attention. It's not just prime, the companies who created these and like chemicals which even internal documents showed have health hazards, need to be held accountable !!! This is the problem, otherwise, the same thing is going to happen on repeat. Hold the companies AND people responsible. It's short term profit and long term expense (at cost of health on life). Shortsighted regulations. People are creating crap, knowing it's harmful, profiting, and getting out, with little to no consequences.
Yes our disposable society is going to have ultimate consequences
Even if PFAS are everywhere, I try to limit exposure by cooking in iron or stainless steel, growing my food, drinking filtered rainwater, etc.
Perfect Timing. I literally just threw all my scratched or older teflon pots away today.
Good call.
Non stick Teflon frying pans are completely safe and won't give you any forever chemicals if used on low heat. Less than 300 degrees celcius specifically. So you can only use it for small number of items. Everything else use stainless steel (which also isn't ideal cos of heavy metals leeching into your food such as nickel and chromium), or cast iron (which also isn't ideal cos of iron increasing inflammation in the body)
,,,when you can’t trust anything,,,, anymore ,,,, who approved them in the first place ?????? 🤔 take a wild guess……
Teflon (one of the first of these "forever chemicals" and possibly the most widespread) has been around for a very long time. Where are the health effects that one would expect? Note that the federal threshold values have followed the laboratory detection limits rather comprehensively. I am an environmental profession with 40 years experience dealing with chemicals in the environment and there are a lot of better ways to spend the resources being expended on this issue that will have a much, much greater positive impact. Like, maybe, pathogen-free drinking water, for example?
Yes, Stefan has been around since 1946. We provided a long list of potential health complications related to Teflon and other forever chemicals. And yes, the safe limits are likely way too high. And we agree, there are probably better ways to spend that money, but it’s a problem nonetheless
@@TalkingWithDocs It is interesting that the "potential health complications" listed for the PFAS families are not unique to the PFAS families. Without going into the details, almost every "potential health complication" has a list of associated non-PFAS chemicals (mostly VOCs and SVOCS) as more prevalent causes and a great deal more data. Just for instance, and as chemicals that everyone is exposed to, look at TCE, PCE, benzene and VC. They have a set of "potential health complications" on common with the PFAS-families yet have a much stronger correlation. Every time you fill you car with gas, you are exposed to benzene at concentrations arguably in excess of "that which is good for you..." Much (or almost all) of the PFAS data comes from military personnel and fire-fighters (especially the airport and oil-industry guys) that use PFAS-type chemicals (AFFF) and have mega-exposures. The data just does not rigorously apply to grandma cooking eggs in a Teflon pan. As with VC limits, the allowable limits for PFAS chemicals will continue to decline as the labs get lower and lower detection limits. Interesting.....
Thank you both for your ongoing effort to make people aware.
Doing our best thanks
So, in other words we’re doomed!
Thank you sooooo much doctors l appreciate the information
So nice of you
Finally, doctors discussing toxins.
Been trying to get people to get the poisons out of their lives for over 30 years.
I thought I'd never see this day.
Thank you 🥰
Why is not cooking not sticking cookware containing PFAS are not treated as hazardous materials when disposed ?
From what little I know about forever chemicals is that there are ways that some people think can help to reduce PFAS in our direct environment. One example is not using nonstick pans anymore, and there are list of other consumer products that can aid in reduction. It’s not possible to even eliminate entirely of course, but we have control over much of it, or so it is sad by some articles on the web.
The government may decide these are no longer legal many of the products. Some with less exposure to consumers may still be used because their benefit is so important; some claim that the firefighting foam is in the category
Oh lord i have been using Teflon for ages gonna throw then away and go buy some stainless steel pots if i can find some
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
Thank you Docs for your very informative videos
When will used carpets and clothing be treated as hazardous waste ?
Thank you for sharing this! How to protect our microbiome!?
Eat whole foods and add some fermented foods to your diet
@@TalkingWithDocs I'm on my way to the pickle jar! 😃
Thanks humans.
Omg I did not want to drink this yesterday and someone kept saying oh it’s good drink it. I read ingredients but I didn’t have my glasses I kept looking at it didn’t look bad but I kept saying why is it so thick so now I’m seeing this literally 12 hours later.
And they say progress is good.😮 when I grew up, we didn't have Teflon and all this junk.
@@missioncodez no I didn't have any of those nasty things. It wasn't back that far. Lol
Very informative as always. Question for you. You touched on Dupont's teflon pans. Do you know anything about the Green Pans? Such a dilemma. Thanks for your input.
I'm glad i never got caught up in the hype of Prime... Sometimes being broke has advantages lol
Dude you can drink it if you want, it's just a bad tasting product overall though, if you ever had a bottle of water then I have micro plastics in you, it's just the matter of managing it nowadays
People really don’t realize it has lots of advantages. We truly blessed in many ways. I always said I’d rather stay poor and happy somewhat satisfied that I know I’m working toward a goal than sell my soul and be rich.
I know this is off subject but I would love to know your opinion of fortibone collagen thanks for all your videos!
And on top of all that, we have Chemtrails which is impossible to escape.
Yep for sure they even put chem trails in the uk london i saw a oic on RUclips with chem trails
What chemicals are they putting in the jet exhaust? I’m sure it’s possible but I doubt it’s anything but carbon monoxide and water vapor.
When will PFAS filters on Washing Machine (drains) become mandatory?
Moral of this story. You’d all better increase the coffee enema detox protocols.
🤣
Go BACK to glass packaging for ALL food products!
YES!
Add onto that all the plastic micro particles that are found in bottled water, glad I don't drink bottled water.
How do you guys feel about biosteel hydration mix?
I really appreciate your videos - both very informative and quite funny too . BUT this video is giving opinion on a legal case that’s still ongoing. I’m not a lawyer but should you take legal advice from a colleague and maybe pull it? I’m in U.K. so don’t know your specific laws . All the best and keep making the videos !
Thanks for your input. We are giving our opinion about a case. Ultimately the judge will determine if the case has merit and if it will go to trial. All we are saying is that these chemicals are everywhere which makes it hard to sue any one person, group or company
@@TalkingWithDocs OK Thanks for your reply. - I do enjoy your videos and feel you are providing a great public service - worldwide so all the Very Best to You both.
What about the packets? Anything that starts with poly or pro they say is vitamins
All your episodes are great But I think this 1 is 1 of the most important ones.If you look around At the cancer rates for young people And all also the hormonal issues.....I've been saying For years, we're going to find Smoking gun. I think this could be it.
I just watched the movie Dark Waters last week which is about this very issue. Well worth watching.
Let’s hope there is something good for us that is everywhere, probably collective knowledge that is collaboratively and politically brought together around the world to eradicate the bad, like a small pox vaccine that removes a virus, we need a ‘vaccine’ for PFAS and many other bad things.
Now you’re talking
Nice
Very nice
I have a question that's not about the topic, what are causes and treatment of excessive sweating on head, face and back both during the day and night, even after taking cold shower. Kindly help...
Talking with dogs usually makes me happy. But PFAS awareness is good! Sad that we are the guinea pigs for corporate profits. Hope there is a way to make plastics without forever chemicals, but I've not heard of it.
Plastic manufacturing in general does not require PFAS.
So I just found out that microwave popcorn bags have PFAS and it leaches into the popcorn. Is it pointless to avoid microwave popcorn bc PFAS is everywhere anyway and maybe it isn't very much?
Recyclable containers. Glass and paper. Charge deposits for containers that can be reused.
What about plastic retainers from your orthodontist, are they safe?
That’s a good question. Sometimes plastic is inevitable. Worth a discussion.
Now I want to live in a bubble... made of glass not plastic. 😱
No more bubbles, plastic or glass .....let freedom ring!! Nothing more to do than laugh.... You can't make this up!! It's true!! Don't ever let it happen again!! Lesson learned!! I've been duped!! Programmed from birth!!
Great. Something else to be afraid of. 😬
Yup. On the other hand, advancements in medicine have created products thst will keep you alive longer than when we lived in a "cleaner" world. Knowledge is power.
These companies should be doing a reverse osmosis water instead of being complacent and saying oh well.
How about drink called “Celsius” I have been drinking it and see to crave it, but recently found out it’s high in caffeine,is it ok to drink just one a day?
It depends on how your body reacts to caffeine.
Cathy, all energy drinks are high in caffeine, but they differ in amounts.
There are much worse dangers in the world to worry about.
Yeah there are a lot of
In las vegas nevada a guy came out with a smart water ،i frgt the name, and he caused liver damage to his buyers ....this is the worst drink that caused damage and hepatitus ...
Gore-Tex? Don't they make hernia mesh? (He said looking at his abdomen...)
lol. Now I feel sad!!
0:32
Might even make kale taste better with the teflon infused in it 😂
🤣
Yum.
This is all not true because i drink prime every day probably ever since it came out, and nothing has ever happened to me and i think it is a healthy drink, so does my freinds and TEACHERS !!!
Just because PFAS are 'everywhere' does not indemnify products that contain them. It all depends on the concentrations. We suspect PFAS are harmful at very low levels, but if a product contains PFAS at orders of magnitude greater concentration of background or similar products, then the producer has a problem. Don't know anything about this particular case.
👀
You should not be promoting complacency with the toxins. Law suits need to happen in an effort to encourage/ mandate companies to be responsible and stop producing those toxins.
a lot of non-stick cookware claim to be PFAS free.... so what gives?
The newer ones may be but often that is semantics as well they are elusive
@@TalkingWithDocs Well, you've gone down this rabbit hole, so it seems to me before people start throwing away their non-stick pans that they spent a huge amount of time researching to make sure it didn't have PFAS, you should do a video on what companies are being responsible in making sure PFAS are not included in their non-stick cookware.
I specifically have Carote, and there are thousands of people on amazon who got these pans specifically because they claim to not have PFAS. If this is not true, and they are gaslighting people to believe their product is safe, everyone should know, as well as other companies.
I'm one to think that anxiety kills just as many people every year, so if you're going to make a video saying everything is unsafe, it's your responsibility to talk about things that are the safest, both for people who are trying their best to make the right decisions, and for the companies that are genuinely telling the truth.
it could be less harmful than mountain dew
All vehicles don't make exhaust. In fact: Lawsuits have forced the reduction of emissions by all vehicles.
Do mean electric cars don’t produce exhaust? And yes standards for emissions have been improved. But they still produce exhaust.
@@TalkingWithDocs One step at a time on a good day.
Let’s not get into microwave popcorn 🍿 😂
I met my brother camping years ago. His friend and wife did some of the cooking. She made scrambled eggs in the 'teflon' pan. It was a well worn pan. She used a metal spatula, and the eggs had all kinds of chipped teflon bits. I knew back then not to eat it. Sure glad i had some pop tarts to eat.
As I understand it, PFAS are not in the material on the pan; it is used to create the material on the pan and that process alters the PFAS to make it disappear. This may not be true, but so far I have remained healthy at age 75. When I add up all the times I have not had to scrub pans in my lifetime, it may be worth it to have diminished health and lose a few years off my possible lifetime. Now, I never interfaced with this stuff when young and that may make a significant difference.
Let's go back to GLASS!!
Also don’t forgot about the two fake sugars in prime !
Yup
SO THE LAWSUIT WILL MAKE NO SENSE BECAUSE THE PFAS IS EVERYWHERE.
You are doctors, not lawyers. Maybe you should stay in your lane when opining about legal matters.
Get real!
@@barbarak8158 I am real. A real lawyer.
