Didn't see that one coming.....there's room for 2 of those engines in there 😂 it will be really interesting watching that project come together can't wait to see it finished
@lesleyc5952 Thanks, it's a little different to the usual V8 swap but should be good fun to see how it comes together. As you say, plenty of room in there...could almost fit a second!! 😀
i can tell you everything you will need to do this conversion right and it will all work for you better than what your planning on doing iv been doing this swap already but with the earlier m16 turbo
A zetec Ford 2.0 would have been a much tougher engine imho , a jag 3.6 would of been a good choice too imho. - good luck with the project though - nice straight sd1 to play with.
@muckle8 Zetec would have been good but wouldn't have bolted up to my gearbox or engine mounts same as the T Series has, XJS 3.6 is a good engine but very heavy and big. Plus neither keeps it in the Rover family!
Could of used the sierra box 5 speeder but guess would have required fabrication/ modifications - think I would rather trust the zetec than that particular rover motor though! All the best!
Hi phil, i have the same issue you have with bulkhead space in a way. I have a TP that had everything moved back a few inches to the bulkhead so that included a custom shortened propshaft and gearbox remote where as a standard sd1 would have the space so im putting it back to how it was. Could you do the oposite to mine and have an extended propshaft and gearbox remote and exhaust? Just a though for you. Great video and great choice of engine 👍.
@willshaw24 I've been keeping an eye on your Vitesse on FB. They went to a lot of trouble to move it all didn't they! I'm hoping I have a solution without having to move everything, but we'll see!
@TheJamesandmary Yes, same engine just N/A in the Disco. I'm actually looking for an inlet manifold for the Disco as it points the right way for a RWD application but they're really rare.
@chriss2761 Thank you! The engine is already gone unfortunately. Added it to the usual online groups for free to help someone out. The full stainless exhaust will potentially be up for sale soon though.
@@notrut A few reasons, mainly size, weight, power, power to weight, reliability, mpg, usability, spare part availability, and keeping the modern (ish) powerplant in the Rover family.
@notrut Nah they're easy enough to do, there was nothing wrong with the head gasket on this one. Helps having the separate cam carrier on the 6 cylinder cars. I just wanted a more powerful, more reliable, cheaper lighter engine that was still part of the Rover family. Makes sense to me! :)
@@notrut the t16 engine is a 1000x better than the dreadful 2300 2600 engine the t16 is much more reliable better power can make more power than 6 cylinder and the v8 too and be better on fuel than both engines
Just a little thought dont forget to put a petrol sticker near the filler cap
Not a bad idea!

I run a standard sd1 2000 O series and was thinking once to put a 16 valve cylinderhead on, so I am interested in your progress the coming months🙂👍

Take your point about keeping it rover though.
Very impressive work 👍I'd be interested in that link for number plates. Cheers
Thank you! Ah I forgot to put it in the description...I'll sort that later but for now -

Is this the same engine that they fitted in the Diso 1 MPI ?.

Another great video mate and very impressive work 👍 Are you selling any engine parts from the 2600 engine or exhaust ?

Eh, y'whaaaaaaat?
Why a 4cyl instead of 6cyl ... ??
