3:15 See this mentality right here says everything. How can you say it’s tough, when your play on the court was garbage? The more respectable thing to say is “I understood the decision and want to do whatever it takes to win and give us the best chance to win. If that means I’m off the bench, I accept it” but instead he makes it about him.
Dude I get the point and I wish D lo breaks off this mentality but I swear people like to act orally superior and project into others. D lo isn’t the only on not just in basketball but in life. People are complicated and have different personalities. Not everyone is the same and it’s sucks and I wish people had more ability to not get caught up in ego things, but people have to understand or just vilify someone for these traits. It sucks man cause I believe D lo is not the worst person and believe he can be better as a player on and off the court. You have to get too this is like the first time he was benched ever since maybe his rookie or sophomore year. He has been starter for a long time whether you like it or not and people either trusted him or failed to be more hard on him. As a fan I honestly wish he was removed as a starter after game 1 or 2. I think he has has needed tocbe benched for a while but at least Ham did it last night and hopefully D lo learns. Dude if you love the game and believe in yourself so much sometimes it can be tough when you get demoted. Also like you’re a general and you get demoted to lieutenant even though you maybe feel you earned that over the years. I know D lo isn’t perfect and I don’t agree with many of his antics or comments many times, but I think this is something is true for many others. Basketball is a sport that enables a lot of this behavior man. I wish it can stop but it’s part of it and hopefully people like Dclo grown out of it and many players have had this and brown from it. Like I wish people had more understanding and looked into context and than trying to be right about someone negatively.
And he said he wanted to be professional and not ruin the team’s vibes. That isn’t anything wrong to say. Maybe not best response but not everyone’s can be PC and perfect man. I agree he should know he was okaying bad and deserved to come off the bench but as Insaid he maybe believed he can still Help winning by starting and it’s a hard thing for many players to accept at times. It’s hard when so many are talented and have legit talent but sometimes not good enough. You can’t make the NBA without some confidence but sometimes it can be too much.
We would not be in the playoffs if he did not show up. Also, i need to the same spirit on bron jacking ill advised 3s that kill the team momentum and going for the highlight reel and missed dunk. Realplayers know that messed up
i doubt he is a laker next year but he did help them the 2 prev series but his money is crazy for what he has done. I see them keeping RUI and AR and adding some others.
DLo is good. Someone needs to tell him he needs to work on his game a lot. Keep him for reasonable money. He needs play like Austin Reeves tough on defense/offense.
It's amazing how the Lakers always need a scapegoat when they have a bad season. First, it was Frank Vogel, then Russell Westbrook, often Darvin Ham, and now D'Angelo Russell.......ignoring the positives and focusing on the negatives. So predictable!!!!!
His contribution successfully helped Lakers get in playoffs , during the team transition, He was like that , his here and there helped team , period , Good Luck DLo !
I Like DLO / But He is HIGHLY UNRELIABLE . And This Wasn't His First Time . If. The Lakers Are Serious About Winning {in the Playoffs} , DLO is NOT The Answer at PG .
Darvin Ham, @AntDavis23 , @Dloading , should all feel sick to their stomachs today for not backing up Lebron this series! Made the man want to retire early smh
He wasn’t ready to be targeted like he was. The Nuggets knew he’s been sneakily crucial to that team and Bruce Brown said it was among their main priorities to shut him down.
The fact that Denver specifically chose to attack *HIM* tells you everything you need to know. Lakers will never win a ring with Dlo in the starting lineup. Get rid of him immediately.
He needs to work on his awareness on defensive assignments and actually try to play defense. And increase his speed, quickness, and conditioning to keep up with fast guards like Russ, Fox, Ja, Steph, and Maxey. He is one of the slowest guards in the league. His strength and height as a combo guard is his advantage that he could use against those faster guys if he really worked on his isolation game and post moves. He should study guys less athletic guys like Luka, Fultz, and Murray who use their size to get by defenders and earn high percentage shots. Many times in the playoffs he kind of was non existent because of his lack of aggression getting to the basket. At least Schroeder was attacking the basket and creating for teammates. DLO has potential and has obviously matured, but he got to try harder and focus. Countless times he just dribbling without purpose and settling for that low percentage and difficult mid range floater. He has talent and I believe he can be better somewhere else that is not a contending team. When that jumper is not falling, he’s kind of unplayable.
I like his fit on teams like Raptors(if Fred leaves), Rockets, Bulls(to fill in for Lonzo’s injuries) and Wizards. Maybe even a contending team like the Heat if they trade away Vincent or Lowery. If I’m the Suns, I might would trade Ayton for Russell since Ayton probably wants out and it would be an upgrade over Cam Payne. Not having Chris Paul anymore is a loss for the suns, so they should consider filling the void for that starting point guard position. Lakers would be able to move AD to the pf position and allow Ayton to play center. This will be similar to the bubble where AD and Javale/Dwight filled in that frontcourt lineup which won the Lakers a championship. A dark horse team to acquire Dlo could be Memphis. This will allow Memphis to stay in playoff contention while Ja is away from team. Once Ja returns, they could ship Dlo at trade deadline just like Warriors did a few years ago.
Hes not the starter...great backup..he is liability on defense and not consistent enough on offense..if hes willing to take under 15 million a year for a backup role

I agree he should know he was okaying bad and deserved to come off the bench but as Insaid he maybe believed he can still
Help winning by starting and it’s a hard thing for many players to accept at times.
It’s hard when so many are talented and have legit talent but sometimes not good enough. You can’t make the NBA without some confidence but sometimes it can be too much.
D lo is dumpster juice , it’s not his fault
We would not be in the playoffs if he did not show up. Also, i need to the same spirit on bron jacking ill advised 3s that kill the team momentum and going for the highlight reel and missed dunk. Realplayers know that messed up
i doubt he is a laker next year but he did help them the 2 prev series but his money is crazy for what he has done. I see them keeping RUI and AR and adding some others.
This kid has become more cerebral as time has aged him! Mad respect for this "Bad Cop" gone good!
He said he was nice. I heard that! 🏀
That's what happens when there are expectations to win a championship. Pistons don't have a scapegoat problem, I wonder why?
It's enough criticism to ho around.. AD gets some also
He said complete success lol
Not taking enough accountability for his poor play i dont think lakers should keep him
Hopefully he comes back he definitely helped us compete in the playoffs
There's a pretty big difference here...
He helped us GET TO the playoffs. He didn't exactly help us compete in the playoffs and win games 😖😖😖
His contribution successfully helped Lakers get in playoffs , during the team transition, He was like that , his here and there helped team , period , Good Luck DLo !
Resign him please
At around 6 min Dlo talks about his good chemistry with Austin Reaves. How many assists to Reaves did he have?
Chip on his shoulder. It’s giving Jordan Poole-ish bratty vibes.
Keep him for 15 mil a year
We good on that
Nope! His play is worth $9M/year.
I Like DLO / But He is HIGHLY UNRELIABLE . And This Wasn't His First Time . If. The Lakers Are Serious About Winning {in the Playoffs} , DLO is NOT The Answer at PG .
Not even hating but you’re right…. He’s not that dude for it… the deeper we went in the playoffs, the more he started shrinking
He can’t attack the rim at all
Darvin Ham, @AntDavis23 , @Dloading , should all feel sick to their stomachs today for not backing up Lebron this series! Made the man want to retire early smh
It sucks they depended on a 38 yo man like that… if DLo gives us 10 points we win
He wasn’t ready to be targeted like he was. The Nuggets knew he’s been sneakily crucial to that team and Bruce Brown said it was among their main priorities to shut him down.
He has a lot of skill, though would've liked to see him drive into the lane a lot more. Really can't see any teams willing to give him a big contract.
This guy can help more with more a chance to prepare & play all season long with Lebron & Ad etc
DLo and the other new guys did the best they could in the short time they had together. Some adapted faster than others, but they all contributed.
Every since he been trying to advertise his sports drink his shooting went klump
The fact that Denver specifically chose to attack *HIM* tells you everything you need to know.
Lakers will never win a ring with Dlo in the starting lineup. Get rid of him immediately.
Defense this offseason get better man
Asked him were the champs belt he claimed against the Memphis
I think he know deep down he can get traded over the summer for you know who
Where’s the Coco 5 tho!??
As terrible he was against Denver he deserves all the praise he was the biggest part of theyre turn around.
Keep him please!
This offseason, Dlo, you gotta work on your defensive intensity.
He comes off as pretty self-centered in this interview. There's always room to work on and improve your game, he needs to keep his ego in check.
Hes not the starter...great backup..he is liability on defense and not consistent enough on offense..if hes willing to take under 15 million a year for a backup role
If the lakers could have go malcolm Brogdan or halibrlurgton
I'm still pissed how the Celtics swiped Brog for peanuts from Indi
Bring Back DLOOOOOOO
Lets go Lakers
💜💛
If he would’ve attacked the rim more & not settle for 3s in these playoffs, we would’ve been 2-2 going back to Denver, maybe even 3-1
He can't. He's Soft.
Doesn't play hard enough on defense to me so I'm out on DLo. Move AR to PG1, RUI to PG2, lebron SF, AD PF, and they need a banger for center
Recency bias is different we need him back
Dlo still seems immature . We don’t want him back . He’s been traded so many times for a reason .
You are not the gm you feeling don't matter
D'elusional Russell
Send this man to the Shanghai sharks 😂
It’s not that Lakers fans want D-Lo gone. D-Lo doesn’t want to be in LA
Dude you don’t know that Jesus.
@@ryanbeltran9413 bro look at his mood in the press conference compared to everyone else. You think him coming off the bench last game is gonna want to make you believe that he wants to come back? He said it perfectly when he was on the wolves, they were holding him back just like the lakers were
