That Spider-verse scene but the sound is realistic

Even without the music, this scene has still a lot of power, such great art.
And, I'm pretty sure it is the only scene that breaks the "only move every 2 frames" rule in the first spider-verse movie
Makes it even better imo
Sadly that song is not leaving my head and i still hear it
@@meltedmeltan7936 that's a bad thing?

Interesting how you decided to keep the disembodied voices, although not realistic, they still hit hard with that echoing effect. Like we are in the head of Miles.
I felt that those were the words that really motivated him to take the leap, so I kept them in!
Overall a great touch, only adding to a phenomenal video
@TheBlackbirdOfficialthe creator might be a girl and might have created that by themselves to get rid of the backround sound
@TheBlackbirdOfficial i thought it was gwen at first but then (s)he says "Spider-Man"

Clearly you got an A in sound design.
I did! I was very proud because it was my first time really thinking about sound rather than just picture.
"B, I got a B... missed a few classes" jokes aside insane sound design
@@mhadimedia5?
@@mhadimediahaha nice reference
Nah, tbh, Idk what kind of "realistic" He was thinking about, because he didnt add wind sound when the camera following miles swinging, and I believe that it shouldve got a harder and louder sound when he was landing on the truck
can still hear the music going with it in my head. best scene in a animated movie EVER!
It’s so hard to not hear it!
I think you can remove the word "animated" and your sentence still holds true. It's the best scene in a movie!

Nah man. I am gonna become rich enough one day to hire a guy to follow me around and play my main character music when shit gets real.
Fully support this!
With the power of technology you can do that yourself. Carry a small Bluetooth speaker for best results.

Correct me if I’m wrong but yeah I think there was another version
@GGalaxy01 yeah the one where he crashes through
The Spider-Man’s must be very strong because if a normal human swinger from that height their arms would rip off
Now imagine it starting like that, and then hitting the nastiest beat drop.
it would’ve felt so long without the music hyping you up imo
I’m trying to figure out if that beat drop would work better going the second Miles jumps or when he shoots, catches and swings for the first time
@@amycox5733I think the swing. the silence with the jump off is so beautiful
This is honestly amazing the scene still feels so amazing even without the music which proves that they didn’t need the music to help it feel emotionally powerful but they still did it, and in the best way possible. Also amazing job with the sounds I love how there’s a voiceover for aunt May 😂
theres a voiceover for miles saying “when do i know im spider-man” too, i’m assuming they couldnt isolate the voices of those lines from the music
Fr
1:23 Even without music this scene still feels breathtaking.
Its so...peaceful without it.
This reminded me that no matter what awesome shit i do in my life i won't have badass music to hype me on
But damn was that raw in the best way possible

To answer a few repeat questions!
1) Aunt May and Miles had to be dubbed by me and my roommate since it was too hard to take out the original clips without the music sneaking through.
2) I absolutely LOVE the original scene (which is why I chose it). This was never meant to be better or worse than that, it was purely an experiment/ a class project.
3) I used a program called Logic, it’s a professional software used in the industry of filmmaking and music production.
4) About 60% of the audio is from a sound library that was later mixed and filtered to go with the scene, and the other 40% was made my me. It took a few weeks, but that’s also because I had other classes to attend to.
5) Thank you all for the love and support! Really, I did not expect this video to blow up the way it did, especially since I did this project over a year ago. So thanks again!! ♥️♥️🕷️🕷️
Couldn't you have used the 5.1 surround sound mix of Spider-Verse to get the original dialogue?
@@milesfernando tbh I didn’t even know I could do that. I just got the original clip from RUclips lol
do pin this! and amazing work 👑
I thought I noticed some voices were a bit different. Nice work on your part
Not bad kid.
Feels so empty without the music. Its still so cool though. Gives you a feeling of what it actually felt like.
It's awesome how real and raw this makes the scene feel
You know it's good when even in a "realistic sounds" version it's still so cool
This is genuinely incredible
Thank you!
They could have edited the movie this way, where the jump and the fall are silent and then the music hits when he takes the first swing. That would've been epic too, but the original's great.
At 1:17 was my favorite part! The squeaking noise really goes flow with Mile's foot movements.
Even without any music, the quieting of everything in the upside down shot is so powerful
I can't imagine how long this took. Incredible work !!
Thank you! Definitely had a few all nighters with this one lol
@@TamiaTheNerdwas definitely worth it!
This is what I find so great about sound design. You could approach it from so many angles. What you want the audience to hear, what the character is hearing, what other characters around them are hearing, background noise, weather, clothes and so much more.
This was great. I would add that having his footsteps and jacket fluttering noises more pronounced would have made it even better. Because we're following Miles through the camera angles and the direction. Additional vehicle noises, like honking of the horns, slight skid of the tyres, could also be included for the brief moment that Miles finds himself on the ground before slinging away again.
Miles definitely had earbuds on while listening to what's up danger LOL
🤣🤣
why do i feel like all spider people have earphones integrated into the mask to listen to their favourite soundtrack now?
I like thinking about what a scene sounds like to the people in-universe because they don't hear the music. I love how powerful this feels.
CAN'T STOP ME NOW!

TRAEL 200 MILES KNOCKIN' AT CHO DOOR

What a contrast to the movie! But still equally as engaging! Good job! This was phenomenal. I often wonder but don't get to see it like this about movies having the real sound playing instead of the soundtrack. I bet a lot of Marvel movies are like "DUDE, WHY ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE!? DO SOMETHING!!"
It’s always a stylistic choice/ depends on the movie. Some prefer hype music to get the crowd pumped, while others like having the realistic sounds to immerse you into the scene. I love both!
I like the window scratching sound. Without the music it makes you feel like you are really up on a 300 meter high building window
Making it raw like this puts such a different kind of impact on the scene. And I love it.
Now, it sounds much more serious, and I love it.
0:14 this should be a lot louder, with an impact noise for the chair
Noted. I tried to get it as loud as I can without clipping, but I think at the time I was emphasizing the explosion with the quick art style change. Forgot that the chair was super close to the camera so it could’ve been a bit louder.
Even without musics,Miles leap of faith is still breathtaking
yo, without the music and with your amazing editing skills, this scene is almost 10 times cooler. idk, the music is fantastic, obviously, but this edit just makes it feel more raw and true to life. kudos!
Thank you so much!!
Words can’t describe the instant chills I got from just listening to the atmosphere. Felt like I was there and experiencing it. Beautiful!
It makes me feel like this is something that’s really happening and isn’t fictitious. Lovin it.
nah this is earth 1610 where music plays in certain times
🤣🤣
Since it’s such an amazing scene, it’s still awesome without the music, you did a great job with editing the noise. Also: Unless he was thinking of music at that moment to calm himself down a bit, all that ambient noise and the voices of his role models would’ve def been the only things going on in his brain.
I really love how immersive the wind sound effects are, it's like you're actually falling.
Is definitely breathtaking with less music, a few effects would fit well in the first half and when Miles starts swinging then the original song breaks with power. Good job bro
That leap is so strong it doesn’t even need the music to have an impact. If anything, the realistic sounds makes you focus more on the visuals which can make you feel like you are watching it for the first time
The extra sound affects makes me realize he is SO high up and it honestly made my gut jump a little!!! Incredible
I wish I could swing through the city, it seems so peaceful, like a way to get your mind off of something.
that scene with breaked glass is amazing, even better it'd be with music!
As someone with hyperacusis, it was fun to finally get to hear all the sounds that I hear as mumbles or sparks in the original scene. Sometimes the music overcomes this tiny details in a scene because it's louder! Thank u for make this, it was amazing to catch everything finally, even if I love the “What's up danger” theme, this make it felt more vivid! :D
as someone with retardosisciuoslidososauroris, my balls itch quite a lot!
It’s actually a pretty good representation of the early animation test set to Sun Lux’s “Your Day Will Come”. I think that’s more the dedication of the artists in the film, but unlike in the final product all the realistic noises and details really sell that original, darker vision for the film. The realism on display really adds a hearty human touch to an otherwise beautiful art piece. It’s a message to animation studios that you don’t need uncanny valley levels of realism to make your animated film feel real, just make it art before making it realistic with sounds and audio. If Spider-Verse, the most cartoony animated film I’ve watched, can sound and feel real, you’re doing something wrong.
Sometimes I wonder how the characters experience events differently from the audience.
Still sent chills down my spine even without the music!
Thank you for also becoming spiderman and going through these motions to capture these sounds
OMG, this is almost better than the original. Something about no music and real sounding SFX makes the scene... like I'm not sure but it's amazing.
Bro left his fluids everywhere 💀
I am actually going to be taking Sound Design 2 my last semester (two semesters from now). Sound effects work is fun, footsteps can get a bit repetitive though. Great work. Did you do any foley or just a lot of searching?
A mix of both. About 40% of the sound including most of the dialogue I did myself. But it was also a lot of time finding the perfect sounds, then having to re-edit/ mix them into what I wanted. And yes, footsteps can get repetitive, as long as each actual sound is different rather than the same step sound over and over. Good luck for your class!!
who else thought this was gonna be a quick joke of miles' leap of faith still having screams
I know this is a serious school project (that you did REALLY good on, don't get me wrong) but it kinda gives me meme vibes lol.
Way less cool and epic without the music lol
got chills when the glass broke from him jumping, it was perfect. felt like that shouldve been how this went
This would be if dc made this movie
🤣🤣
lmao
I swear the sounds of wind and breeze should be drowning a lot of other things out
Honestly this makes the initial fall so much more anxiety-inducing for some reason. It's brilliant.
And you know what? Even without the music it’s a masterpiece. The beats just add hype to it and it’s cherry on the cake.
I actually think I prefer this over the movie. Just the silence after the glass breaks is chefs kiss
Seeing these scenes make me want to see this movie again so badly!!! You did such a good job with this.
I’ve seen new movie twice already and will see it so many more times lol
I watched this movie like 50 times, its my favorite movie.
Ok but the glass breaking and then the silence gave me chills. Amazing scene.
This is really cool, makes the concept of swinging around the city more daunting without music hyping Miles up, great video!
I never thought you could sleep to Spiderman Swinging, but that's how impressive this truly sounds!
1:30, the most beautiful scene in cinematic history
me explaining how any version of this scene deserves an oscar and this specific version deserves twelve oscars to everyone i know
The lack of music during the Leap of Faith...chef's kiss.
This has got to be the best sound design video I've ever seen! This is stunning! :O
“Trust Us Bank” lmao I never noticed that before
It just feels so much more serious without the music, and the fact that you slowed the scene down as-well really helps sell that IMO.
Wow. You really feel the fear when he leaps off. The lack of music really has an effect.
I swear I could feel the cold air on my skin as he dropped! Such a cool video🔥🔥
actually, this video is a good one to use for audio mixing since the audio for background noises is already complete and done thanks to this clip, having someone do the voice and add the BGM will be a good way to practice sound design by yourself and do a lot of fun stuff with it.
This is truly awesome, nice job
Thank you!!
The fact you are able to take away the brilliant score and soundtrack of this sequence, music that adds so much emotional power to the moment, and still have a narratively satisfying, gorgeous spectacle, is a testament to how well made the movie is.
Honestly I love his design with the sweater and the shorts I wish he looked like that all the time
To this day, Miles’ webs reaching the top of the building before he went splat will always baffle/amaze me cause how???
this and the sequel are probably one of the best produced movies in like the history of animation
i like how he called it that spiderverse scene just to say how iconic this scene is
hundreds of time have i watched this scene EVERYTIME I get goose bumps its just so incredibly good
It was still so impactful without the music, this scene is honestly true art.
that rush of air when he fell gave me goosebumps holy cow
"Like what's up danger" played in my head what he took that leap of faith.
Usually these no music videos are funny or silly but this gave me chills
Dude this is awesome. It hits different like this- but just as powerful
This is awkward as heck but I love it 😂😂😂
this has such a raw vibe to it, i was expecting it to sound silly but holy shit it sounds amazing
this is one of the reasons exactly why miles is one of my all time favorite characters.
i loved a little minecraft sound effect while walking (no offense) but lokey this was a the best sound designers video i have ever seen
THIS IS SOOOO GOOD A+ SOUND DESIGN
AMAZING JOB on this. Sound design is has always been so cool to me and this scene gives almost the same but different feel in a sense. It makes it feel to me like I'm playing a video game or a vr title.
Nahh this is so cool please do more of this is so goooood brooo
Beautiful scene, and beautiful animation I love this concept and this is such a great scene to do this with. I loved this movie and the music but this scene almost feels x10,000 more powerful with the echoed voices and the pure silence with nothing but street sounds. Amazing work!
well thats depressing
😭😭
It’s kind relaxing for some reason, maybe because it’s the sounds of the city, or how normal it sound, or both, but that might just be me, love this
This should have been the movie's trailer. Just imagine how hype it would be.
This is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!
Now you need to get the official VA's and put what's up danger in the background and you've got a scene recreation down almost perfectly actually.
1:23 that silence was GORGEOUS
That jump without the music was so intense, this scene holds so much even without the What's up danger on the background
So calm felt like meditation.
if i get bitten by a radioactive spider, im getting my airpods
this was so incredibly satisfying i LOVE IT
Lol I love the tiny little “wooooooo” that you put in
