I just realized the scene with all the drawings and crumpled paper on the floor showed the aftermath of Woong's possible breakdown in the middle of night or day. Like, watching it the first time, I vaguely acknowledged this was supposed to tell me he was depressed, but watching it again now, and putting myself in his shoes - imagined how those illustrations could have possibly fell to the floor, I finally truly understand the depth and weight of the scene. I imagined Woong gradually still filling up with anger, sadness and confusion that he couldn't contain all these emotions anymore that he just bursted.
In his fit, threw his sketchbooks against the wall, swept his hands across his desk, his illustrations flying all over the room only to land on the floor. _'People change... Only buildings stay the same...'_ and sadly he was proven right by the person he loved. _Again,_ he was abandoned _again._ First by the person trusted the most. _This time,_ by the love of his life.
He needed to draw. He felt the need to draw. But some of them didn't feel right or exactly what he was feeling - he still felt like bursting, they're not taking away the pain at all. He crumpled his sketch to start again. He did this all night, all week... Until he finally felt like he wasn't about to implode. Until he felt like he can open his door and let people see how he's doing, for now.
Yeonsu was quiet, yes. She kept almost everything to herself, even from Woong. But Woong was a private person, too. He can't be settled unless he finally comes to a conclusion. He stays quiet, and keeps to himself cuz he sorts his thoughts and feelings alone first, before he lets anyone else in. People surrounded him, but only he could feel what he felt. Only he could bear through the waves and endure until the storm finally passed. He's the only one who can process his own thoughts and feelings.
Oh man, this clip made me sentimental.
