Even though so many years have gone by, those images of Les in the '70's still melt my heart. He really was an amazing looking man like a movie star. His voice was also incredible. He neve lost that voice. God bless him and his family. He had a beautiful wife and son.
What a wonderful tribute. I just found this page. Les made my childhood a dream with his beautiful voice. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for him and the Rollers. Love from Australia. ❤❤
It was a beautiful tribute. I was shock to hear he pass away. I waited 40 years to see them and hear their music. I got see Les last year., a day before lockdown. He mention he would be back. But sadly not so. Faith was on my side to see him last year.
Thank you so much for sharing. A beautiful tribute for a amazing singer. It is so sad. Les: you are never forget. Thank you for the music. Que votre âme repose en paix.
Thank you Robin. That was a great tribute from you and your guests. I used to go over to Scotland in the mid 70s and worked at the fan club in Prestonpans. I was interviewed by Eamonn Holmes in February 1985 and got to meet Les and the rest of the band. Very sad that he has passed away at a relatively young age when he was so enjoying life and still had so much to give.
He was one in a million. He spread joy and happiness to his audience. Still have to cope with the sad truth that I will never see him again. 😢. I hope he is safe and sound in heavenly peace 🌟🌟Let’s all keep our precious memories alive 💖
Thank you so much for this tribute and sharing the interview again. I’d like to share with you and all BCR fans my own tribute to Les. Rest In Peace Les. I will always ‘Remember’ the carefree days you and the band gave through my teenage years. In 1976 you were the first band I’d ever seen in Concert. The Southampton Odeon rocked that night and to top it all it was a ‘Saturday Night’😂 The British heatwave of 1976 was an added ‘Summerlove Sensation’ 😂 with the bands bunch of hits bringing us days upon days of carefree joy. I can still see the beautiful face of my girlfriend Dianne who along with me learnt how to ‘Give A Little Love’ 😂 even though it was not long before she, not me said ‘Bye Bye Baby’🙁 I guess this is my ‘Rock And Roll Love Letter’ to you and the band. Les, you can ‘Keep on Dancing’ up there. ‘Don’t Let The Music Die’.
Lovely tribute. Thank you. The BCRs popped up on my YT this year and I found out all the trauma he went through, and the lads getting ripped off. Les seemed like he really got his life together and was happy. I feel gutted. My heart goes out to his lovely wife and son.
Great tribute to a great guy and was fantastic to hear Des Lee's genuine words of sympathy but couldn't help noticing that hair do on Des it's hilarious..
I know its sad because 2 members of the band Bay City Rollers have died. First Allan now Les both from a heart attack. As for Allan he was married and lived in the USA in LA. Then Les who married a Japanese women called Peko. Had one son with her called Jubia. They are mourning and feeling very sad right now. Will be missing him right now. Don`t know if they will inhearite his money though? Maybe keep that private from the press finding out and making a scandal and in the newspapers aswell? Also give them privacy and respect too. Yours Sincerely. Valerie Weight in Oban Argyll Scotland UK.
I looked at our theatre today in the town that I am from and I thought that's it les won't be playing there anymore and obviously thoughts are with his band they will be out of work now ,family , and fans touched by this , he was such a lively personality its still hard to imagine him not around anymore , I remember leaving some literature with him back stage about the hope of a ressurection back on earth after death and I believe he also had a hope and belief so pleased I got to talk to him extremely down to earth bloke , he never looked at himself as a star , nice guy
There was a girl from Liverpool who thought plad would look good, Eric said tartan better coming from Scotland, said they god inspiration from the band called Bilbo bagans who was on their Manchester shows in the 70s, Bambi Ballard from London cut down their clothes and added the tartan, woody also said that.as Les as admitted in an interview,he had fights with Eric, getting the camera on him all the time, spying on them all, accusing them of taking the money, then leaves Alan on a tour and took the name, wanting Eric to play with him, then sang Eric's songs, did it illegally,he's just a lier,be interesting to hear what his first band would say about him,the guy who played in Les band went on to Eric's band, when Eric was doing the rollers version, but Eric went on to protest songs and his songs.

A great tribute to a great musician. He was my teenage idol. I'm now 62 now,the tartan pants didn't survive but the memories have.❤️
Thanks for sharing that. Lovely man. 1970s what a decade. Your mum would call you in when it started to get dark. 👍. Shang a lang. 😁
Thanks, he was taken too young. Les will always live in my heart. RIP angel.❤️
At least he wasn't murdered needlessly on the road side in a sectarian attack
But sad that he died
