All of a sudden, everyone is "suddenly" seeing Håland's faults. Soon it will be Jude Bellingham's turn to be analyzed because the media is in love with him right now just as they were with Håland.
No way you drew that senseless equivalents lol. Bellingham is a complete footballer. Dribbles, carries, aerial duels, ground duels, goals, assists, tackles, workrate and a fantastic attitude.
@@palashrawat401 He is all that until he falls into a slump. The media has criticized greater players before so what makes you think that Bellingham is beyond that?!
The only thing that will happen is when Mbappe comes in media will say he isn’t scoring as much,
@@user-mv7kh5sv9zit doesn't really matter if he falls into a slump, if he does that he'll he criticised for his *form* sure, but not his attributes or ability as a footballer which are unquestionable. Haaland's always been a very untidy all round footballer but with the caveat of being an incredible goalscorer, it's just not a very good comparison.
@@user-mv7kh5sv9z it will not be the same as Haaland because Jude provides a lot of value beyond goals. Everyone has had a slump, who cares in the larger picture!
Saka is a winger. OF COURSE he would get more touches. Alvarez plays as a wide strikerr/second striker most of the time. You cant compare a 9 with those players.
He's still very low down the list
He was also injured for ages and had international duty
My point exactly. I'm not the biggest fan of Haaland. But he is a specialized player, a pure striker. And he does his job really well.
Go watch the video of Ronaldo Fenomeno R9 see how many times he touches the ball
Destroyed the father physically and now trying to destroy the kid mentally. Good old BLOOD FEUD, Vikings vs Irish.
He’s not wrong though. Haaland is missing some easy chances in big games
You copied this from the Reddit or instagram 😂
It's not that deep. Haaland is a machine at what he does though team has to be trailered for him
@@QTSweetFXyeah he’s useless off the ball 😂
The father played for two years after that tackle, amd it was the other leg he retired over.
What this taught me was nothing about Haaland but how UNDERRATED Julian Alvarez is, what a player he is and he doesn't even start that often for City.
Alvarez is asked to play a different role. For a good while, Alvarez was playing midfield. There is no comparison
The point is Alvarez is technically much better than haaland, he could be false nine as with Argentina, nr 10, winger …and a good goal scorer too
@@mahamadoutraore1077 but he doesn't score as much as Haaland and doesn't have the speed or physical presence. They can't be compared
When Haaland was injured, Alvarez was played in his favourite position and he was woeful. Lost evey aerial and physical duel, couldn't hold the ball without being shrugged off by the slightest contact and appears like an Ant between Spiders. City style doesn't suit him.
City would probably score more goals if Alvarez started over Haaland in the Prem - Alvarez himself may not score as many as Haaland, but the team's aggregate goals would almost certainly go up.
I don’t want haaland dropping deep to be on the ball when I have KDB, Foden, Silva etc on my team

I know right. I mean you can’t blame Pep for not getting Haaland involved much. He can barely pass and he can’t stay on the ball for longer than 5 seconds. Am I the only one who thinks City ain’t the right club for him?

Keane said that he is a great goal scorer but his general play needs improving. This is a fair criticism. Yes, he's a striker and his primary job is to score goals. However, if the more technical players are absent for whatever reason, Haaland must be able to participate in the build-up play, win his 1v1s, contribute to midfield hold-up play, etc. for his teammates. These are the characteristics of a well-rounded footballer. When people talk about the ballon d'or, Haaland is often incorrectly part of that discussion. He needs to improve his technical abilities to be placed in that category. Even Hojlund is a better technical player than him right now.
And how many goals has hojlund scored

Great comment. Harland is lost without space.
@hpk3727
Haaland has 29 goals and 6 assists in 35 matches this season. And that’s considered “poor” for him. The man missed two months of the season and still has another 15 games this season. He’ll still likely end up with around 40 goals by the end of the season.
What a strange world we live in. Haaland plays football, Keane (a retired footballer) says he's shite. Now we analyse whether what Roy Keane says. Strange world.
American influence
Nothing strange about that
Defenders has done there homework .he can't score if he get no ball
He’s awful if he’s not scoring tap ins or getting fed by KDB
If scoring tap ins were that easy everyone would be scoring 30 a season....its an art to be in the right place....hes job is to put the ball in the back of the net what is probably the hardest thing to do.....
It's about goals, not touches. He is made to play differently from Sahka etc. No comparing
Haaland also has assists btw

Roy Keane exaggerated a bit but he was right tbh, and it’s not even being hypercritical of him because he’s so good, that part of his game is very bad at the moment
*Reminder:* Haaland ghosted in the UCL Final & Semifinal, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup Final and the Community Cup Final. All he does is stand around in the box and wait for someone to pass the ball. He’s incapable of creating his own goals like true great strikers such as R9.
@@Zagirus I wouldn’t go that far now but that’s certainly what he’s been like at City
Haaland is a striker. He’s not supposed to have touches and passes. He’s supposed to have shots and goals. Also he’s been injured and missed a few games.
As an Arsenal fan it’s not fair to compare Haaland to Saka with these stats.
Arsenal's new back 3, Gabriel, Saliba and Haaland. Just impenetrable.
😂
😂😂😂
Definitely. If hes not scoring, he brings nothing to the game. However, he doesnt score only a handful of times a season so for those few games, hes awful.
Haaland is very vulnerable without a solid midfield play. Arsenal did great to neutralize him. Haaland needs to evolve because teams are starting to have him underwraps. If I were to chose.. Haaland or Prime Zlata.. I’d take Zlatan. Id rather have a more complete striker.
He was right. Haaland stands around too much. He needs to work on his off the ball situation. He's a good goalscorer, but his off the ball is not good enough.
Nobody is immune to criticism, and a bunch of pundits who never played the game should not be telling Roy Keane what he should and shouldn't say.
@craigsmart1986
The problem with Keane’s analysis is it’s very lazy and reactionary. Haaland’s hold up play is much, much better than Keane is giving him credit for. If you actually watch City every game, what Keane is saying is way over the top and meant to provoke these types of conversations. But it’s not based in the reality of Haaland’s actual performances.

It is justified. However, Haaland was brought in to be the star finisher. Gabriel Jesus wasn't the guy. Man city are that team which is highly creative and fluid. Salzburg-27 games, 29 goals, 7 assists
Norway-29 games, 27 goals, 3 assists
Total-230 games, 223 goals, 48 assists
Yeah that aspect of him must improve when team fails to create chances for him he can't contribute to team for them to win
Haaland was praised for not having many touches last season
Ofc it is. I have been saying the same thing since day 1 when Haaland came to City. He's a great goalscorer but his all round game is actually terrible, can't hold up the ball and can't be used in build up. And that's why it was so ridicioulus to hear that Haaland is better than Aguero, when Aguero was a better player in all departments and especially at build up. If Aguero was at City under Pep in his younger age or prime he would demolish the premier league. When Pep came into City Agueros legs were gone after so many seasons of injuries and top flight football.
If he is a league 2 player. Why does every team put 2 or 3 defenders around him the whole match
He is absolutely correct, he can score as many goals as he wants but when he doesn't score he offers City nothing
Ive been critical of how city are moving forward this season compared to last. His involvement has been smothered but the way they are playing currently.
He can't play to his strengths with the current system
He said he played like a league 2 player in one match and everyone is kicking up a fuss, Im sure if you asked how about United he’d probably say the whole team has played like a National league team all season
Yes his scoring a lot of goals but when it comes to the past top strikers in the epl to me his not one because he can't create on his own
Just because a man can score 50 goals and has that eye for goal, doesn't mean he's a great player
League 2 was a bit harsh, but he could improve his holdup play
That was not a negative criticism, all Keane was saying was that He should improve his other aspects play to be invisible. And if He could improve that ,then haaland will be a complete monster
As a striker do you really need to be first with touches and passes? As long as he is banging them in the back of the net who cares. His stats for goals is outstanding, I am sure pep or carlo would be saying you need to pass more. What a ridiculous thing to moan about.
Maybe it’s Pep’s system that forces to play in a certain way. How was he at Dortmund.
One of the main reasons he has less touches/ passes is because he doesn't need as many to score, which is of course the most important thing to do in football.
Roy Keane isn't wrong tho. There is clearly a reason why Alvarez starts for Argentina in the WC while Haaland's Norway barely performs. I get that in Norway, there aren't many quality players except players like Odegaard. Odegaard ain't De Bruyne or Bellingham or Reus or Gundogan, or anyone like that
Haaland is just a good finisher. He's not a proper ball-playing character. Also, he's not a big-time performer. If it wasn't for Cole Palmer, City would've lost the Super Cup. If it wasn't for Rodri, City might have lost the UCL. Haaland is not the ST who'd offer the qualities of a player like Harry Kane.
If it wasn't for those creative midfielders City had the last season, Haaland wouldn't have scored as much as that amount of goals
The rest of the Norwegian team are average at best, Scotland beat them as soon as they subbed haaland off who was occupying 2 players all game. Argentina won the World Cup and their third string would beat Norway what is this comparison 😂
@@DaleG281 Comparison is not between the two National teams. It's between Haaland and Alvarez. Try to understand what is in it
If u actually watch norwegian games u would see odegaard and haaland carry us
@@nannaa125 Odegaard is the one who'd carry Haaland in that team mate. If a player like Odegaard isn't there in the Norwegian team, then Haaland wouldn't exist. In simple words, Haaland is like a formula 1 car without any wheels. Don't get me wrong, he is the best in the penalty box. But to be the best he needs to be get served. Without service, he's no one. He can't carry the ball through the opponents and score goals. He can't make passes to set others through for a goal. He is just a simple finisher. And, being that is not that much enough, when you face big teams
It may not paint a better picture but the stats presented didn't take into consideration the number of minutes play. Also, it should be best to compare apples to apples. I wonder how halland numbers compare to other center forwards
Saka is a winger, comparing him to Haaland is unfair. However, Haaland general play is poor! I have being saying that when people compared him to Nunez. Nunez is a better footballer than haaland
Yes Nunez is a better ball player but dude is frustrating to watch he wears the number 9 shirt but he can't score for sh*** misses more than he score, he excites and frustrates at the same time. I think the criticism of Haaland is kinda over the top his job is to score goals and I think he does that well he is a traditional striker to me. Sure could he work on his all round game sure but what if that takes aways from his goal scoring because he is trying to link up play bring players in hold up play and he is not in the box to receive cross and do what he is actually good at
Some players simply do not contribute much if they're not scoring. They're called strikers. It's a modern thing where strikers are expected to press and play a midfield role too
Gerd Muller, one of the greatest striker ever, doesn't touch the ball that often! Is he a Division Two type of player???
Klose is another and he is the all time top scorer at the World Cup . A strikers job is to score goals
I was thinking this while the match was on.. when city are dominant he is good, but when they are without the ball for periods of time he is a pasenger
Goals against United isn’t a good gauge
I think last season he took the premier League by suprise as there hasn't really been a striker like haaland for a while in the premier League and now people have figured him out and he doesn't really have a lot to his game
I would say Haaland has to read the game and adjust when defenses play deep, if he does not have that ability, then Pep needs to sub him and make the personnel change. He will become more complete as he ages.
As a Manchester United fan I’d have Haaland in a heartbeat. I could care less about all that other garbage. His job is to put the ball in the back of net and no one in the comes remotely close to how clinical he is. The British media always want to stir up controversy
He won't get any service from United players

Yes you can criticise him we all know most strikers waiting for balls from KDB would have easily half that goal tally.
He needs to do more.
His #1 job is to score goals, and he's scored 18 goals and assisted 5 in 24 games
Good for him, but he should not be mentioned in the same sentence with mbappe, Salah, vini, musalia. Cruyff said it the best...”there’s a difference between a great FOOTBALLER and a great GOAL SCORER!
Ronaldo literaly got criticised for the same thing at united. Scored lots of goals yes, but maybe didn't help the team enough outside the box eg pressing etc
When you think of the greatest ever forwards / strikers, they all had something more to their game, other than just finishing. There's also dribbling, playmaking, free kicks. Haaland doesn't give you too much of that.
Exactly.
Haaland is mainly and purely a GOALSCORER just like Inzaghi, Trez and Ruud were. A box goalscorer.
The Touches stat is silly because Man City don't want him on the ball alot.
He is expected to stay up front and keep the defence pinned back.
His job is to be a pure striker.
Not complicated at all
The thing is Haaland isnt event scoring when it matters this season
he has missed so many chances, and he should be criticized for it
As a city fan I understand why he would say so and it's true Erlin needs to improve on a lot of things he's not there yet his style of play depends on service too much and don't get me wrong every sticker needs service but he easily gets played out of the game because he's one dimensional I honestly rather Julian because you can actually help himself
He literally only touches the ball when he scores so yes
How is Alvarez 2nd with the amount of playing time he gets? Kid is actually pretty talented
In previous seasons Halland was phenomenal, he doesn't deserve to be underestimated like this. The man has already proven himself to be an ace, he's just not at his best right now. When Hallandinho activates goal mode, things will get serious.
last season : Saka 48 matches : 15 G 11 A.
last season: Haland 53 matches : 52 G 9 A.
this season : Saka 46 matches ; 20 G, 14 A
this season: Haland 41 matches : 36 G, 6 A.
give me Haland let Saka touch the ball more and pass more.
Haaland is going through a sticky spell, but the service to him of late has been non existent. He needs to move to a team where his style suits better. But if Haaland is a League 2 player, what does that make the dinner lady?
It all comes down to the system that the coach implements
Yup, like a League Two player. What does that say for the entire Premier League when a person at that level has set all of those scoring records in just his first season? Maybe he's just bored and is looking for a challenge. Like in the game against Real Madrid where he ran down Vinicius Jr who was racing down with the ball. It wasn't really his responsibility and I've never seen him do anything like that before in a game but maybe he thought of the challenge. He managed it anyway without any drama or much effort. At least he got the chance to run again, something Pep is reluctant to utilize, but maybe RM would be eager to.
Haaland is a shooting robot, relies a lot on low risk high reward shots (inside the box) but outside of shooting, Haaland is infact a regular player.
Goals v the big 6, Haaland compares pretty well to top PL strikers, per StatMuse:

Aguero: 128 minutes per goal v big 6 and .59 goals/match
Salah: 146.1 minutes per goal v big 6 and .56 goals/match
Henry: 152.4 minutes per goal v big 6 and .56 goals/match
Kane: 179.7 minutes per goal v big 6 and .48 goals/match
Son: 237.3 minutes per goal v big 6 and .30 goals/match
Suarez: 247 minutes per goal v big 6 and .34 goals/match
You could say the same for a goal keeper. If the only thing you have do is score goal. A goal keeper can say I only have to save goals. I don’t buy the look at my goal defense. He needs to be part of the game in the build up for a world best player title. He is not getting it by just scoring goals the same way keepers don’t get it by saving goals. Haaland needs to do more than score.
He's not been scoring a lot of goals lately so the more involvements and the more touches he gets I think he's goal scoring will improve even more. let's be honest he's got a lot misses as well.
He's not a manager. He has no right to question his game, pep don't want him to do that
You've got to take account the size of haaland legs and his stride, saka obviously takes more touches he has smaller legs and a smaller stride. Haaland is a giant compared to saka
Norwegian tap-in machine!
They should be actually talking about his efficiency with the ball... Dude is top scorer in back to back premier league seasons with less touches mind you💯🔥.
Remember, Haaland became relevant when he scored 9 goals against Honduras during 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup!
A strikers job is to score goals that's pretty much it . Football ( soccer ) isn't like basketball or American football which are based on stats . However in football they are two positions where can accurately measure how good a player is , these are being a goalkeeper and Striker.if you wanna know how good a good a goalkeeper is look at his stats and this matters more for strikers .
Klose overall was a bang average striker when you consider his club record as well . Haaland is a good striker . Also people forget they are different types of strikers . Haaland is probably closer to Robert Lewandowski and maybe Harry Kane . When he peaks he won't be the Brazilian Ronaldo nor Henry in terms of playing style . Neither will be like Suarez or Benzema .
Haaland is still very very young and his football is still evolving, without injuries he will be similar to Kane and Lewandowski.
he has scored the same number of goals against the big six as last season
He won't break the all time scoring record. Mark my words
Any bloke down the pub could have done a better analysis. Useless.
As a Liverpool fan, i think I'd rather Haaland's stats on goals than Calvert frickin Lewin's on touches
Haaland hasent been a modern number 9 yet he can improve that aspect but that separates mbappe from him
Thank you for clearing this up,1 thing about Roy Keane he thinks things through when he speaks. Asking to see more from a top player in other area’s isn’t to much to ask, yes haaland has been great at what he does not to take away from that, but their is always room for improvement, just saying.
If u say that match he played like a leauge 2 player but he dont in general it was jus a harsh critic everyone gets them
Thy should never question the word of Keene
It’s a team sport not an individual performance. The rhetoric might have been tough, direct and harsh but what it was his build up, first touch and movement
That statement and comparison by Roy was purely rubbish (sorry to say that). Yes, Haaland had a bad day but comparing number of touches/passes is also feeble because of different playing style. Haaland is not a false 9 but a finisher. So why comparing Saka's (a winger) touches to Haaland? Alvarez mostly play a SS and AMF, so high number of touches is expected.
Assuming Pep is Mourinho, he would probably shut Roy Keane's mouth. I wonder why Roy isn't managing a club and have his striker score 54 goals in 56 matches
You can criticise anybody. What are you talking about?
I am an arsenal supporter and I would love to have Erling Haaland. He is pure class and has been exceptional at every club he has been at. Man City and Pep have asked him to play that way and he is doing what is been asked. I absolutely respect Roy Keane as a player, person and pundit but I do not agree with him on this. Place the lad in any team and he will shine. This is not speculation! Just look at his career and you will see that he has done Just that, shine. All that and still only 23 years of age. Put some respect on the lads name as he is top class and full of quality. Meanwhile the rest of us supporters of other clubs than Man city can only look on with envy 😢
Why do people gloss over the fact that Keane said he's a world class goalscorer, just with poor general play? I think that's totally fair.
It's like saying TAA is a world class passer but a league 2 quality defender, not really that controversial. Both of these players have strengths that outweigh their weaknesses, but when they have an off game they become a liability.
Touching the ball a thousand time does not win game. Putting the ball at the back of the net win you games. What would you rather have a player that touches ball the most or a player that scores goals, and breaks records.
How about both? While he's not expected to touch the ball as many times as he can score, which we know is a lot, if he could get on the ball more and have more touches and involvement he'd then be able to provide more link ups for his teammates, better hold up play to allow others to get up the pitch in attacks, and maybe even create more chances for the team on the whole. Balance and variety is the key. His goal scoring is ELITE, his everything is meh.
Haaland fails sitters. Just today, he missed the goal from 3 m away. He definitely has great positional awareness to tap the ball in, and occasionally scores some nice goals. But if there is proper pressure on him, he does nothing with his positioning. He always fails in the big games.

Roy Kean not holding back on Haaland where have i heard that before?
Roy has made an observation he didn't say Haaland was an awful striker he's saying his around play isn't top tier. Harry Kane is a better around player and if he played for City I believe would put up better numbers than Haaland.
The commentator lastnight said Haaland was "tekkers deficient" 😢😂😂😂 couldn't have put it better myself!
