There truly are no words in the english language that can accurately describe the caliber of Man John Chapman was. He alone should make you proud to be an American.

As a former Army attack helicopter pilot with combat experience, and have earned awards, the Medal of Honor is no joke. The different services make fun of each other but, we have earned the right to do so. If a civilian messes with a veteran, you will bring down the wrath of all services. Even though John was Air Force, he has more than my respect. I have worked with SEALS and Delta Force…John Chapman is a legend.

Navy brass covered this up for several years. God bless our Honorable Seals.

There’s a lot of bravery here but I want to highlight someone specifically another Air Force man named Jason Cunningham he was a pararescueman new guy. Jason was on the helicopter that landed with the rangers and began treating wounded on the impact basically. He was shooting, moving wounded to safer positions, shooting some more to go grab another wounded guy take them to cover he did this nonstop even when he himself was wounded. He then realized he was hit and the ranger medic wanted to treat him he refused medical care and continued to fight and take care of his patients. At the end of the battle he was exhausted and bleeding out his eyes were fading and 30 minutes before extract he fell asleep never to wake up again. For his actions he was awarded the Air Force Cross. The team leader also received the Medal of Honor the entire SEAL team had Navy Crosses unknown amount of bronze stars with a V for Valor and Silver Stars with V for Valor and most men got Purple Hearts which indicates you are wounded. Let’s just say it was hard to not award every man a MoH bc they all fought like enraged animals on Roberts Ridge. God bless them all🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Great detail of all involved! I look forward to learning more about Jason Cunningham and the other heroes. Its pretty inspirational that people like them wear the Red, White and Blue.
Thank you for the comment and information.

@@555Vibes the story of Neil Roberts is amazing too after falling from the helicopter he landed on his barrel bending it making his SAW unusable he then went to a pistol and knife with the seals reporting many slit throats before Chapman went hand to hand himself unknown how well he faired with his sidearm but the man died with his boots on. That weapon sits in a SEAL Team 6 team room along with many other historic devgru items

Almost everyone who reacts to this video is at a loss for words. This man and more like him are examples of the pinnacle of honor and bravery. One that always amazes me is the story of Roy Benevidez who won his medal in Vietnam. His story starts out as inspiring, moves from that to incredible, from there to almost unbelievable, and ends in nothing less than miraculous. The man defied all we know about what the human body can take. Check out the story by Mr ballen the man who died 37 times. To anyone who knows what a grenade can do or what a 7.62 mm round is going to do to you is always left in utter amazement. If I ever went into battle I might not think to pray for them to be with me, but I would damn sure pray the enemy didn’t have any men like them. Men like these can change the course of a war and have.

I read the book, I was appalled at how the Navy tried to cover this up, the seal team leader lied about what happened and was awarded the Medal of Honor them this video was released and the navy tried covering it up.

That's beyond shitty, I guess you have to admire the Men in the branch instead of the branch itself.

2 medals of honor because we can’t make a statue in his honor due to insufficient brass to create his balls.

While the charge of the first bunker is heroic and incredible, keep in mind we have night vision, Al Qaeda did not! They are looking in the dark at the muzzle flashes from the team leader laying down suppressing fire, While Chapman moves in. When Chapman was hit in the bunker, the team leader said he could see the breath exhaust of John at first, but later he couldn't and thought John was dead! Dead or alive they would not have left him if not for the heavy fire that was cracking all around them.

You do realize night vision doesn't make it easier to see if its pitch black night vision isn't working, that is why IR Flashlights are used in combination with Night Vision if you use night vision alone with out IR lasers and flashlights you are screwed, that is why they rely on moonlight or little bit of light from like street lights or something. But these guys didn't have IR flashlights neither IR strobes
