Hey Johnathan, super happy you enjoyed the PL1! Can't wait to see you taking it into the backcountry. Sorry to see the rope fail! It shouldn't happen like that under normal operation. We'll want to check out the guides on your unit to make sure they aren't eating away at the rope too much. If we need to send you new guides they are very easy to swap out. On steeper terrain you may want to use a climbing harness to take the load off of your arms. We also recommend using the blue webbing strap with the snow anchor in the future. Great video looking forward to seeing more!
Granted it may cost a little more, but have you guys thought of using nylon bushing or bearings in the guides to reduce friction and wear on both the guides and tow line? It would also allow for a simple part replacement if it wore down ever. Also, it may help for the user to have a carabiner attached to them to guide the towline past them, and possibly a second weight placed at the bottom of the runs anchoring point rather than just loose line to reduce the line getting caught on the user. I hope this may be useful! Great Idea thought guys!😁
The paracord has enough stretch you should be able to tie the bottom off to a tree or something stationary to prevent there being much slack in the line. I think with the cords elasticity you could still feed the cord into the machine with the way its designed even after tying off. Still a dope concept and I would absolutely love to have one for those off resort runs!
That was so awesome!!! As anything, this is just the beginning of portable tow ropes. That thing was legit!!! Much better than the electric snowboard. 😆 The blues music when you had to walk back to the top was hilarious. 🔥🔥🔥
wonder if my local resort would let me use this, since there park is only 1/4 of the run, would be cool to use it in a section of the park of to the side out of the way and get to lap the park all day and get more hits, is tempting, thanks for the Vid
Cool product! Maybe if you stuck a little foldable flap on the end of the lift which would push the line away from your feet, that might keep you from getting tangled in it as much?
In the back country, if you're going to sled the rope tow machine down to the rider to pull themselves back-up, why not just tow them back-up off the back of the sled or have them jump on the sled 2-up and ride up? Also riding through trees - how's that gonna work?
@@JohnathanBuckhouse s'funny, whenever I watch videos of Jeremy Jones, or Travis Rice, or any 'proper' snowboarding pro, and they say they're taking a sled into the back country they typically mean something like a Skidoo or other 'sled'. I doubt they mean a children's toy. Hence my (and no doubt) many other peoples confusion.
is this a tow rope? or is it like batmans utility belt winch... A tow rope is a rope the moves and you grab on, a powered ascender climbs a rope. so maybe its not a tow rope
Tow Pro makes very cool products but they are completely different from the Zoa PL1. They're awesome for backyard set ups but they aren't portable in the same way that the PL1 is portable, and they are much more expensive. You wouldn't be able to carry a tow pro lift into the backcountry with you in your backpack, which is what the PL1 is designed to do.
Dude you demo this kit so poorly. I bet Zoa a so happy they set it to you. Still, regardless of your atrocious demonstrating. I think it looks like a great bit of kit, and the winch shined through. I think you own The Team at Zoa another and better prepared review and demonstration and a chance to redeem yourself!

Thanks man
As an idea to help with all the slack and build up stick a post deep in the snow, pull the slack and tie it around.

Looks like a pretty badass unit, nice work guys.
Imagine him constantly riding over the top of it added some micro cuts to the line and could be part of the issue

You could probably use a cable organizer or whatever they are called the spiral thingy.
Use that as an "exhaust" to place the cord behind you
Duuuuude. That is sick! Definitely really cool for people to make their own setups! If Kentucky got more snow I would buy this in a heartbeat
It’s so legit man!

Hahaha that was all Cody 🤣😂

coyote casually walks by at 1:11
Crazy🤣😂🤣
Good eye!!
Just anchor the loose end to something tight so you have only enough slack to lace into the pulley system
They should make a little saddle pouch that clips to the back and catches all the rope so you don’t get tangled in it.

Batman with the grappling hook lol
Right 😂😂
This would be awesome for making your own run. It’s pricey, but would pay for itself in fun pretty quickly I’d think.
Nice I like it, tell me how it is when you crash on it in your backpack? That is the only thin I would worry about.
Just also anchor the end loosely! (just loose enough so you can warp it around the lift, as well as lift it up the ground)
Ok 🤔
Cheers to Jonathan and Cody
Kenny you know
Thanks bro! Hope you are great!
So you have to carry that back down the mountain every time. Going to hurt when you fall on it.
It's cool, but would want to see it in use more.
It’s meant to ride terrain that hopefully you don’t fall on.
What about an attached collection bag for the rope, like a vacuum...
What about it?
I bet a top anchor and bottom anchor would be the way to go
You could get a 2 foot piece of conduit and heat it up and form it to flow around you but might be a bit of a hassle to put in your pack.
Sweet pad!
🙏🏼
Tie off the end point on the bottom

🙏🏼
How much does it cost
You should get a rope tow called tow pro
That would be sick
Maybe if you can put a bag on the bag to catch the slack
Looks & sounds like a lot of work & trouble! 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I think it is worth the work.
What’s up johnathan
Yoooo
Anchor the other side too silly
riding over the line will definitely cut the cord
Meter units please
🙌🏼
Dude just secure the down hill side to something....
You could probably do that
tow pro did it first
🤔

That thing sucks 😂
What LOL How?
