    Thanks for your reply. I went with a 4U Gator and it worked out great. Love the DL16S and the road case made it a perfect setup. Thanks for your video!

    just a tip, I attached my wifi router to the inside of the back cover, now I just undo the latches and set the back lid on top and ready to go

      Damn, that's such a great idea! I have a feeling my router wont fit on the cover but I'll give it a go. My other alternative was attaching velcro to the side of the case and under the router and then slap it on the side of case when in use. But I love the idea of having it ready to go, unboxed and sitting inside the back cover. Thanks for the tip!

    Awesome! Thanks so much!! Are you able to tell me what model of roadcase you are using? Also, how do you get your wifi signal? Is it throught the venue that you are performing at?

      Im not too sure what brand the case is. I bought it from here: www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/music-instruments/pa-pro-audio-dj-equipment/rack-gear/listing/4687746613?bof=aVlDeJFV
      Im actually thinking of getting another one but more of a shallow rack case (not soo deep). Only because Im planning of creating a new setup, but still pretty happy with my case.
      I use my own external wifi router. It doesnt need internet and neither does the built in router inside the DL16s. The wifi routers only broadcasts the information and connection between the mixer and the tablets/phone for the app. There is no need to use Internet. If there is exisiting wifi in the venue just make sure your tablets are connected to the DL16s wifi or your own external router.
      Mackie also a free PDF doc with tutorials on how to set this all up if you get a bit stuck

    Hello there @bandonabudget Great video. Thank you! Quick question have you use this pretty regularly now still like it? Referring to the Mackie. I’m considering getting 32 mainly for studio use. Are the noise levels pretty low? Against super helpful video.

    • @BandOnABudgetNZ
      @BandOnABudgetNZ  6 месяцев назад +2

      I use it all the time and love it. Best investment I made making the switch from traditional mixing desk style to tablet/digital.
      I dont have an issue with the noise levels but Im using mine mostly for live recording or live mixing so im not in a studio environment so I cant really say if its super low noise for a studio. Then again what kind of studio setup are you running? In my experience low noise interface doesnt always achieve best mixes or recordings. The studio and acoustic treatment is more important as well as capturing a quality audio source.
      If you wanted an interface with low latency and low noise then I would suggest looking at Focusrite Scarlet, Clarett or OctoPre, Ive used them before (even the Safire range) and I got some pretty god results from them.
      If you want the flexibility of both live mixing on the road and in house/Studio mixing, then go for the Mackie DL mixers. You get the best of both and will do the job. Hope that helps 🙂

    HI, Great video... How do you connect to the wifi signal, is it using the inhouse wifi? Or is it a hotspot? Thanks

    • @BandOnABudgetNZ
      @BandOnABudgetNZ  25 дней назад

      @@KingdomMediaOnline if you’re using the built in wifi on the mixer it will broadcast its own signal. You’ll have to open up your phone or tablet wifi setting and swap it to the DL16s wifi signal.
      If using your own external wifi router, naturally that router will have its own unique name which you’ll have to connect to from your devices.
      The external router needs to connect to the DL16s via Ethernet cable for this to work and there is a bit of pre setup for first time use. After that it works like clockwork.
      If you run into issues or not sure where to start there is a PDF online for how to use internal or external wifi routers for the DL16s and DL32s

    Hello! Why did you chhoose to purchase Mackie DL16S and not Midas MR18 or Beringher XR18 ? Mackie is better ?

      About the quality pf sound and the variety of effects? Is Mackie comparable?

    • @Chexmik
      @Chexmik 7 месяцев назад +1

      I can't answer for him but as someone who runs my own digital Mackie setup, I chose Mackie over Midas and Beringer because the interface for the app to control the mixer is WAY more straight forward and used friendly. The other mixer apps can be hard to learn how to use effectively. I own an entertainment company and karaoke is our bread and butter. I can have a trainee walking around the room and using the Master Fader app correctly and mostly up to my standards within an hour and that's with also teaching them the software we use for the karaoke.

    Hey, I know it seems stupid, but how do I find this hardcore you're using? Would it fit a small power play together? looking for something like that...

    • @BandOnABudgetNZ
      @BandOnABudgetNZ  7 месяцев назад +1

      It should fit a powerplay. All cases will specify how many "units" it can hold e.g. 1U, 2U, 3U, 4U.
      My case in the video is a 4U and the mackie mixer is a 3U. Most powerplay are 1U. Whatever device you want to mount in the case should also specify how many "U" sizes it occupies.

      @@BandOnABudgetNZ any tips for when your cell phone will see the mixer and when I click on it the show doesn't show up or monitor sends. So frustrating.

    • @BandOnABudgetNZ
      @BandOnABudgetNZ  5 месяцев назад

      @@ryanetrbass Im pretty sure you'll need a tablet or laptop/PC to load up a specific show/scene. Its a limitation on the app due to the aspect ratio of the screen (this was explained to me in an email by Mackie). So the app can technically support full feature view but you have to change the overall phone aspect ratio settings.
      As for the monitor sends you should be able to still access them in a phone view. Tap the left button that says "Main" (default color is white). That should open up a side tab to choose monitor sends as well as FX, Sub groups and VCAs.
      One thing I don't like about Master Fader is that some buttons don't actually look like buttons lol so its sometimes easy to miss.

Is it possible to play audio files direct from usb on Mackie DL16S? Is there any possibility to play and control music wireless? I read somethening about connecting Raspeberry PI or Airport Router.

    hi, does this macky sounds quality is great?

    • @BandOnABudgetNZ
      @BandOnABudgetNZ  8 месяцев назад

      In my opinion... YES sounds great! I'm very happy with it.
      The only thing I would want to change is the FX by having more options to choose from and I do find some of the default setting very cheesy sounding so you'll have to spend a fair bit of time tweaking your FX settings to find the best sound.
      Also in terms of quality of sound, as long as the "audio source" is clean and setup well, then you'll get a good sound from your mixer. For example a mic placed too far away or incorrectly from an instrument will not give the best quality sound compared to placing it closer or correctly.
      Always come back to the source of the audio. Is the musician in tune, are they using a guitar setup correctly, is the mic placed correctly, are the volume levels of the amp set correctly etc. As long as the source is good then the mixer will give you some great results!
