- The #sailormoonredraw challenge was also in 2014 so i decided to redraw this piece too. First art is one of my first tries in Procreate. The second picture was drawn in Clip Studio.

I cried while listening all these Sailor Moon openings and covers xD Sailor Moon was a huge part of my childhood! I was rewatching same episodes all day long until my parents took away the tape and told me that japaneese cartoons hypnotize children and didn't allow me to watch Pokemon.
and then bought me Digimon..
This is one of my first tries in Procreate. I liked brushes very much, i think it's easier for me to draw more like painting with huge brushstrokes on Ipad. Maybe because of small screen size or mb it's brushes. I don't see much difference in final versions of arts but i felt it in process. What do you think? Also what do you think about Procreate speedpaints? Is it more interesting to watch procreate default timelapses or ones with screen capture with interface and my hectic moves? xD

I might be biased to clip studio but I liked that one better lmao. I also like seeing your process with layers bushes etc. so I like the screen capture ones
I’m on team clip studio paint!! but your art style is so good, both versions turned out gorgeous. I like watching the raw process of you fiddling with the layers and such, although I have heard good things about painting on the ipad too. I hope you keep sharing your videos with us! 🥰
I like seeing the processes and such. So I enjoyed CSP but I use procreate and over realizing I could similar results. You’re so talented

I personally use both, procreate is easier to use but less detailed, the end product of clip studio always makes me feel more accomplished
Just wondering do you use csp on the iPad also? If not do you think it’s more details because you’re using it on a desktop/laptop

Clip studio is so hard for me to use. I don’t understand the stuff that’s going on honestly. Plus I’m on iPad and it doesn’t save.

for procreate the screen captures are usually better at the default recording just do brushstrokes. It is more informative for learners
lo l I think its more satisfying to playback bc there arent all those disorientating zooms

I don't really recommend grayscale. But this is her own procces so I don't think you'll find something so specific anywhere.

As a beginner I definitely recommend procreate as a start, it’s honestly so simple and easy to catch on to. It won’t scare u like clip studio did to me :’)
csp made me want to quit the moment I started, there are so many features and it’s complicated :,((

I feel like you've used Clip longer than Procreate. They're both great it's just it feels like you have a way more detailed understanding of Clip
I usually sketch in procreate and switch to clip studio to paint. I think procreate is more convenient and absolutely worth its value but lacking in a lot of areas where Clip is better.
I love clip studio's oil paints and their wet mix function. It is just perfect for smooth/natural looking blending of colors and even after messing around in brush settings in procreate, I can't get the same result (or even close).
Procreate's wet mixing function often produces awkward banding and doesn't really pick up the colors already on a canvas in a way that I like. Does anyone have any tips on that?
Also, I don't know if you can fix this but when I rotate my canvas it would be nice if the brush angle could rotate with me in procreate. It makes a flat brush practically useless...
Do you switch from procreate to clip studio on your ipad? Or do you use another digital tablet? Because i want to know if csp can work in an ipad as effectively as if it were on a digital tablet software
Jod N I’ve been using clip studio on iPad for a little over a year and it works just fine
@@jodn4435 I have the same question, I am trying to find the answer these days because it seems that Clip Studio has less options on Ipad but I need a professional opinion to rely on.
Watching it I could definitely tell that you were much more familiar and comfortable with Clipart - and I read the comments afterwards to find that my feelings were right! For it being one of your first full pieces on procreate though it looks beautiful, I can't wait to see what you're capable of in the future on that program! ;;

I use both. Procreate (for me) is easier for me to do big full canvas drawings while clip helps with detail in comics and is more smooth as far as lines go.

Love your style! ❤️ As a traditional artist primarily, I can't stand navigating menus/toolbars in Clip Studio, but get super envious of digital artists that have the patience for it, given everything that software can do!
Your art skills improved in a natural way. I can see you were more into cute and more anume style but now you can mix natural reflect and anime style which gives a better detail to your drawings!

Please never compare apps we all know it’s the skills not the tools if u have massive drawing skills u could literally draw with anything even with toothpaste
True skill does determine a lot but comparisons are always helpful when deciding which one you want to start with
The programs absolutely HAVE to be compared so artists of all kinds get the most of it. Not only the amount of tools but price, accessibility too. Clip studio wins by far because you can have it anywhere and do whatever but Procreate is softer and easier for sketching besides of the no distorting zoom in and out option. You can crave crappy skills and still with the help of tools make something more decent and learn to make newer and more polished things.

Hello! Could I ask what brushes do you use in csp?
The immense amount of talent here has blown my mind.
For some reason I cannot control procreate for the life of me. So I use CSP because the blending tools are just easier

- Clip Studio Paint now has a simple mode for beginners
- The difference between the two paintings are night and day, CSP’s paint brushes blend & color mix together with transparency while Procreate’s do not
- If you want digital painting that replicates real life, try Art Set 4, Adobe Fresco, or Rebelle 6/7 (on Windows/macOS) instead of CSP or Procreate

Can't use both programs because, don't have money for clipart and my devices are not capadable with procreate. If my iPad wasn't smashed to bits and 10 years behind in updates, i could probably use it but..just using Krita Art in the mean time. Both ptograms look great though.

I don't see any difference in art style or quality. Just a different angle of the character. I guess the takeaway is that it doesn't matter what software you use when you're this good.

Clip studio all the way. I absolutely HATE procreate and their layer limit. They don’t see themselves as a Professional app and more of a companion app so why should I. So many apps don’t have the fake layer restriction at all, clip studio being one of them and it in now way is impeded. Another is artstudio.
Procreate has great user experience though. Won’t deny that. But with clip studio shortcut bar and a little setup all is well. Procreate also has the pricing advantage by a landslide. But even with that I can’t overlook it’s massive shortcoming for professional work of the type I do for clients.
When procreate finally does away with layer limits and bring in things like pixel accurate brush dimension, instead of percentage based ones, and allow things like group editing then I’ll consider it, til then artstudio and clip studio all the way
i voted clipStudio because its have a vector layer that make your work can scale unlimited.
but price is so expensive so both software can only draft or make 1 job.
both of this software just a bit different function.
if your upgrade more skill in other software you can see more useful and more function.
I like the 2014 version better. It fits Sailor Moon much more. 2020 is not bad by any means just a personal preference. I like the more anime look for Sailor Moon than a realistic style.
I think it is more of a personal perfrence for art programs well mostly. for me it will be Sai and CSP

Cause it is 1 time pay and not monthly.
But procreate is too simple for me personally.
Clip studio is one time as well, just wait for it to go on sale, totally worth it for $50
