Return of the tree menace!! 😮 😂 That was my first trail damage too front fender on drivers side slid sideways into a big ass root! 😬 …2nd was the wife backing into another vehicle.. but we don’t talk about that.. 😅
First time down in Moab (like 2 months after i got her custom ordered from the factory) while I was doing Top of the world, I had a tree jump in front of me and knock my passenger side mirror off and got some (luckily!) fairly superficial scrapes along the doors/body as well, so I feel your pain when it comes to those moving trees!
Man I grew up in the PNW and trees, hitchhiking or otherwise, tended to put a real beat down on rigs. Glad you had the new armor to keep that one at bay! Best defense is a good offense tho right? Maybe see if you can borrow one of Elon's flame throwers that'll show em.
Hey Teddy your gladiator is looking good. What was the mileage in your old gladiator vs the new one? Thinking of buying a gladiator and building it out for over landing with 37’s and a roof top tent but would like an honest mileage comparison between the 3.6 and 3.0.
Well my ecodiesel has been heavily modified and tuned.... But I use about half of the fuel I used to. On my last trip I filled up before I hit the dirt. With the gasser the the wheeling part was about 3/4 tank. With the diesel it was 1/4... I drove home another 150klms and still have half a tank. Stock to stock there isn't much difference but once you're loaded on 37s that's where the ecodiesel shines. Just remember I'm heavily modified, most people wouldn't want to do what I did. It can void your warranty etc...
That corrosion problem jeeps have around the hinge ares and quarter panels due to moisture and contamination from road chemical getting in and under and around the metal. What the heck kinda nastiness gets under these things and never dries out but just starts etching away at the paint and metal? Put some sizable steps on and take those off. Oh wait you have holes in your jeep now.
I've been tempted to install these but I'm afraid of the grime / road salt that can get in between the body and the skins. What is your take on that? Is there some kind of seal /sealant sandwiched between?
I suppose you can put some sealant on the top side only. That would reduce anything going in. I didn't think of that. Good point though. Casey 250 sometimes uses rubber and stuffs it in the cracks where dirt would go. That's another option.
Buddy i really hate to say this but primer wont seal anything .. ya need to put some silver paint over the primer to seal it .. “All” primer does is give the paint something to adhere to .. unless this is a special primer that has a sealer built into it which 90% of primers do not .. so ya might wanna find out what exact primer was used . Id hate to see that pretty jeep with corrosion on it 😭😭😂😂
😂😂😂 damn hitching hiking trees!
Lol lesson learned. Never stopping for them again!

Hahahah parking lots are more dangerous than the trails. 😂

Ya I actually used my jeep in the first week of owning it as a jeep. Have proper sliders coming now from metalcloak to do the rubicon!

Good point! I'll hit it with some silver paint. I already ordered the paint but it's not here yet.....
This is why I would never buy a used jeep lol
