Yea, I bought it off the back of the direct. Its a great game..but it is not perfect on the switch. It's not far off but has some occasional fps drop when things get really busy. Will hopefully get patched up. Its not game breaking or frequent but noticeable
Yeah, I grabbed this as soon as it was offered after the Direct. This game is great. I love the vast amount of incidental dialogue that occurs the farther you get and then die, it’s just incredible. The combat is satisfying and the progression feels meaningful.
I'm about 20runs in now and I just cant stop thinking about this game. It's beautiful, funny and quite emotive at times, just another belter from SuperGiant! Nintendo should bring this team into the fold. Give then one of their first party IPs to work on and see what happens. Anyway, totally agree with the review... nothing short of wonderful. In fact I'm gonna get back on it right now.
As a huge lover of Supergiant games, a fan of Roguelites and someone that’s been waiting for Hades on Switch for WAY TOO LONG..... this review brought a man tear to my eye. Bastion and Transistor are 10s for me so this really strikes true to me.
Think of those two games and everything this dev took from those and then made an absolute epic with this. I had a feeling it would be good but when you play it, everything screams pure and utter quality. For me there is no point giving a game like this a 9.5 or whatever. Sure no game is perfect but this is the pinnacle in what it does. Just superb
Really!? Considering bastion was trash! And all their games are the same, same concept, same gameplay and same narrator throughout all their games are pretty repetitive. The game with the chic and the talking sword is good though
@@redcrimson1028 that's the beauty of gaming, different things for different tastes. I felt that Bastion was excellent (it was my first indie ever), and that Transistor had so many game mechanics that set it apart from Bastion. this game gave me nostalgic feeling of back when i used to try and solo dungeons in mmorpg where i see how far i can go.it’s also amazing how selecting a different weapon feels like i just changed classes. best part is every room is different from the last run.
I had downloaded this yesterday. It was on my ‘Get List’ as soon as it was announced and I didn’t hesitate when I saw it. I haven’t gotten around to playing it yet, but this review has made me very glad that I made a good choice.
Those are exactly the same games, which are on my radar right now. Probably gonna pick up Hades first, because I still need to beat Ori and the blind forest.
@@Juniverse0 I usually buy games when they go on sale thru the eshop. But because them 2 games got such good reviews. I decided to buy em and not wait for a sale.
I want to get this game so badly but can't afford it right now! I picked up Children of Morta a few weeks ago based off of your recommendations multiple times and am loving the hell out of that with my daughter! as always I love your guys' videos. I've spent way too much money but found so many good games because of you guys.
This weekend I bought 8 games 1. Hades 2. Ori blind forest 3. Ori will of the wisps 4. Last campfire 5. GRID Autosport 6. Mx vs ATVs all out 7. Super Mario 3D Allstars 8. Donkey Kong tropical freeze I had been saving for a while and waiting for these games. Also waiting for lost ember to drop.
Bought it when it released-- haven't stopped playing it since. The story is great, the music is stellar, the combat is crunchy, and the character development is excellent. Supergiant's best game yet. A bit of Children of Morta, a bit of Dead Cells-- and you can also pet Cerberus. 10/10.
Hades managed to de-throne Dead Cells as my all time favorite rogue-lite within the first couple of runs. There's just something special about Supergiant Games and their style that immediately hooks me and won't let go. There's so much to unlock, so many small details you come across in each run and in the hub, each character is uniquely charming with awesome voice acting and i've rarely come across a rogue-lite that is as fair and motivating when it comes to progression. As close to a perfect game in the genre as it gets for me.
Bought this yesterday morning as soon as I saw it. Love Supergiant games, this is soooooo hard to put down. Highly recommended if you like rogue likes, great graphics, and dynamic storytelling
As a side note, when you throw the spear you don't have to walk to pick it back up, you can recall it and do backstab damage to anyone in its path. Although I'm with Juan I prefer the bow.
This game just exhales eveyrthing an rogue elite needs to be. Superb game and it lets me put every other game i play on switch aside. Can't find a better review of this game by you guys !!!
Started it last night and it is AMAZING. I am completely in love. First time playing this genre and a game by this company, and i was amazed by it all❤
You can unlock more with keys and the variation is very good which keeps it feeling fresh. You only get 2 weapons at the beginning. Ultimately though I am a creature of habit so once I really like one I tend to stick to it. You can have differing builds through each run dependent on the Gods you meet too so that keeps it from feeling stale.
I think I put around 70h into the PC early access , it was an instant buy for switch! This game slot slots between Deadcells and Rogue legacy for my favourite Roguelites
good week for the switch ..bad week for my Wallet ... MArio 3D all Stars, Ori 2 and Hades... arghhhhh .. need time and money :-p Thanks for the review.. i had an eye on Hades but didn't thought it was that good.

The only complaints I’ve heard about this game is from people that don’t like rogue like or hack n slash games but still they expect something out of this that isn’t here. 10/10 seems right now I just need to save up for Ori.....
That's the thing, it's not the games fault. It is awesome in what it set out to do. For me it's a fantastic game and in my opinion absolutely deserves a 10
Ya it’s funny when a person says “that game sucks” or “I didn’t think it was that good” but then mention they don’t like that style of game at all. I always here this about rogue likes and such. It’s mind boggling. Anyway you and the boys keep up the great work!
I know Supergiant Games go on deep sale, but couldn't resist getting this one! I got it yesterday and have been playing non-stop since then! And I've been trying to convince my friends to buy it too 🤣. On a side note, I'm lacking 5 dollars to be able to afford Ori and the Will of the Wisps 😭

I agree with you pal the game is fantastic and you can tell a lot of work has gone in to polish it up in the last 12 months. Controls are super tight and it is so smooth.
I don’t normally play games like this, but I randomly picked it up yesterday and I’m so addicted!! Also does anyone know how to check how many runs you had/deaths? Unless everyone just counting in their heads?!
I picked this up yesterday, and was umming and ahhing about picking it up because I've seen it run silky smooth on the PC...but porting to another system can be a bit rough, and the best of ports can have issues. I unfortunately did find one issue when I was playing - when playing in the rooms which require you to 'Survive for 45 seconds', the monsters endlessly spawn as you slash, dodge or shoot your way to the end of the time limit. Unfortunately, sometimes the screen can get a little too full...which led to some unfortunate frame drops. Nothing which resulted in my death, but noticeable enough to get me panic dodging for safety. Aside from this one issue - which, in all honesty, they can probably improve with a patch - the game is FANTASTIC. I have been waiting for this port for a long time to take it (as well as the other Supergiant treasures) out and about when I need to take my Switch on journies. Top notch soundtrack, fantastic variety with the weapons, beautiful artwork... I 100% agree that this totally deserves a 10/10
Really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. I agree it is fantastic and a brilliant game which I think has something for everyone.
Tbh I’m just a casual player so I don’t feel skilled and patient enough for most rogue likes, but I love Bastion, Diablo 3 and 90’s comic style graphics so this one is right up my alley and I’ll have to get it anyway😊
In the options of hades u can enable god mode wich makes the game alot easyer if u are having trouble or just want to focus on the story of the game.Cheers
I feel like this is a game that anyone who even slightly enjoys roguelikes/roguelites should pick up. Especially while it's on sale! I'm doing a blind playthrough on my channel if anyone would be interested in givin me a looksie. What's everyone's favorite weapon so far?
God mode also exists so if you want to experience the story quicker, I haven't used it myself much just tried it out on another save file to test it and yeah it's definitely a god mode that isn't broken per say gives you 20% damage resistance that grows stronger every death
I think its a good thing, gives alot more players the chance to enjoy the game if they really feel its too challenging. I personally dont use it either but still a good option imo, i love when a game has many difficulty options . Cheers
I'm a little late to the game as I just bought it tonight. I can't put it down! I sadly just missed the sale but it's the best $25 I've spent on a game in quite some time.
Was wondering which version to go, mac or switch. Then I realized that steam version will eventually have a discount of 70% or 80% some day, I may get it for less than $5 then. So go switch this time!
The different weapons, boons, lever layouts, story and boss changes from run to run so dying never really feels like a setback. It feels like faat travelling to a city in a typical rpg. It feels like your skills improve bit by bit rather than in most games just putting the time in until the credits roll. Hades something special. Even if you arent a fan of the genre its a must own in my book.
I really wanted to save money but the game is screaming at me now to buy it. Art style is gorgeous and gameplay seems extremely fun but still challenging which I like.

Was wondering which version to go, mac or switch. Then I realized that steam version will eventually have a discount of 70% or 80% some day, I may get it for less than $5 then. So go switch this time!
Enjoy buddy 🙂
Is this gonna be a physical release on switch?
We very much hope so but nothing confirmed yet
I hate rogue like, but idk why I love so much this game. I'm playing it for 4 hours now, I can't stop.
Very addictive indeed 😊
Whoa! A score that itself the Mario Collection couldn't achieve?
I have the Mario Collection too, a decent collection
Love Supergiant but hate Roguelikes. One for the sales perhaps. Looks amazing graphically, a step up from the fantastic Transistor.
Fair enough buddy, if you do give it a chance we hope you enjoy it.
Wow! This looks awesome, definitely going on the wish list.
Might just replay Bastion later in preparation
Stay safe guys x
Thank you Judith, take care and stay safe too
I really wanted to save money but the game is screaming at me now to buy it. Art style is gorgeous and gameplay seems extremely fun but still challenging which I like.
I paid for five hours straight last night. It really was one of those times I lost track of time. So good.
Same as me, hours just disappeared
Early to the lefty. I have been waiting for this one. Can’t wait to get stuck in.
Can't wait to hear what you think buddy
Johnny Tran well have a good time. I look forward to giving Hades a run through.
Gosh I wish I was good enough at video games to play this.
This game is phenomenally good.
How does it stack up against Diablo III?
Very different games pal. Both excellent
Funny, it's not available in BigN's German e-shop...
after 10 hours of play my game data has been corroupred due to erro so i lost all upgrades
Well I am sold
Hope you enjoy buddy
love this game Supergiant are genius
How does it feel compared to _Bastion?_ Word it as well as possible please.
I played Bastion for ten minutes and refunded. The narration made me want to kill myself. Hades...... QUITE the opposite
I didn't like Transistor or Bastion. I hate roguelites/likes. I can't stop playing Hades.
Good stuff buddy 👍
Hmmm, now I'm interested.
I liked supergiant’s other work. I love this game.
Played this on PC. It looks pretty but it gets hugely repetitive very quickly. I would personally wait for a sale unless rogue likes are your jam.
Cheers Harry
Considering it was released on sale now is the perfect time to buy! :)
I'll wait for a 6 dollar sale
Looks good !
This exactly is literally the same as bastion. Have anyone else notice that???
The game looks so great
Really is very good indeed. All the best
