I dunno if you've been there already, but there's an arcade that opened up in Westfield Stratford recently and as you go in and up the escalator, there's a OutRun 2 SDX cab to your left. It is massive! Though it uses cards much like Funland, it's a fun experience.
@@lincolnloud4264 Is that the Gravity Max place? I think someone else recommended that to me. I'll have to see if I can pay it a visit next time I'm down that way
Hey, Mr.Thunderwing, I just subscribed to your channel. You know, I love arcade games. Fun Fact: Did you know that in Brookfield, Illinois, there’s actually this really cool arcade known as Galloping Ghost Arcade. From what I heard, they’re the largest arcade in the world. I even made a video about me exploring it once. It was really cool. Maybe you should take a trip there when you get the chance. And my suggestion? Maybe even do a tour video like I did.
Thanks! I've heard of and watched several videos on Galloping Ghost, it looks incredible. If I ever find myself back on holiday in the US and in that particular region of the USA, I will definitely pay it a visit and try and get loads of video.
They're nowhere near as common in the UK as they used to be, but you can still find arcades. Specific retro arcades and arcade bars are increasing in popularity here.
@@abnormalmusic1477 It's what the arcade have set up as a way of crediting up on the machine. You pay for a card with a certain amount of credits on and tap the card on the reader to pay for however many credits the game costs. It's a bullshit system TBH, the games aren't cheap and are decimialised, so you always have some leftover credits that aren't enough to pay for a go on anything.
@@Gaming_For_Ages The steering was working fine but, IIRC, the force feedback wasn't working (and the CRTs have been swapped out with wrong aspect ratio LCDs).
@@MrThunderwing woahhh that's harsh... but y'know i was listening to the retro hour last week and they were talking to an arcade importer. it does sound like CRTs are the bane of arcade owners' lives - and you can imagine why. especially big beasts like that have in those cabinets.
@@Gaming_For_Ages Yeah, I don't really have anything against LCDs myself, it would just be nice if the arcade operators could find a way to keep them in 4:3, rather than squished 16:9.
@ yeah, I mean a lot of tellies will have the option - especially if they’re big screens. Although my last one didn’t and I had to manually set it every time, and often reset it during play so I do have sympathy if that’s where they’re at! 😂
Definitely the type of thing that squashes my dreams of putting one in the garage - I’d seriously do it if I felt like I could keep it running but sense between pedals, gear shift, force feedback and CRT I’d be massively out of my depth!

Seeing these machines working is awesome, last time I went to an arcade, they had a fucking Sega Rally and Indy 500 machine!
Grid, Daytona USA I'ts Wonderland!
@@FurasKapur Y'know, Grid does absolutely nothing for me personally, if it was Scud Race, OutRun 2 or Daytona USA 2, then yeah!

great to see some REAL hardware still on duty! But paycard instead of "INSERT COINS" ? Thats so untrue ...haha ...greets from 80ties arcade lover
@@maaaguz Yeah, I _really_ wasn't a fan of the paycard system.
That's cool😎

What is that card that you used on that rainbow thing? I've never seen it before...

Aaah man you know I love a bit of Daytona and it’s satisfying just seeing that power slide! How’s she playing? All still working ok?
