Friday Night Funkin' (stylized as FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' and often abbreviated to FNF) is an open-source donationware rhythm game first released in 2020 for a game jam. The game was developed by a team of four Newgrounds users, Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.
The game mainly revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of characters in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay revolves around hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song.
The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam in October 2020. A full version backed on Kickstarter titled Friday Night Funkin': The Full Ass Game is under development.
Among Us is a 2018 online multiplayer social deduction game developed and published by American game studio Innersloth. The game was inspired by the party game Mafia and the science fiction horror film The Thing. The game allows for cross-platform play, first released on iOS and Android devices in June 2018 and on Windows later that year in November. The game was then ported to the Nintendo Switch in December 2020 and on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in December 2021. While the game was initially released in 2018 to little mainstream attention, it received a massive influx of popularity in 2020 due to many well-known Twitch streamers and RUclipsrs playing it. A virtual reality adaptation, Among Us VR, was released in November 2022.
Among Us takes place in space-themed settings where players are colorful armless cartoon astronauts. Each player takes on one of two roles: most are Crewmates, but a small number play Impostors. Crewmates work to complete assigned tasks in the game while identifying and voting out suspected Impostors (which appear identical to Crewmates) by means of social deduction, while Impostors have the objective of killing the Crewmates.
Among Us experienced a significant surge in playership in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic due to popularization by RUclips and Twitch content creators, and received favorable reviews from critics on account of its fun and entertaining gameplay. The game and its stylized characters have also been the subject of various internet memes.

They should keep this as a song on the Freeplay menu. It sounds and looks really cool even though it doesn't quite fit with everything.

@@cr34m.ch33s3 not "meant to be", it WAS. the v4 dev team asked vruzzen to make defeat better and when they sent it, everyone was blown away by the instrumental. Punkett made new vocals and everyone decided it should be a new finale, but for the danger part idk maybe lol

Honestly i love this. Blacks chromatic sounds like a mixture of the old and current ones. The design is AMAZING though i imagine hard to position (like i can't tell if this would be in the normal fnf perspective or from behind bf/first person.)
I also love the build up in the beginning and the sudden speed increase. I will agree with another comment on here tho that it doesn't exactly fit as a finale but more a better danger. Also tbh the song could've been way more epic and better done instead of repeating the build up. Would've loved to see this as a freeplay song either way. like a "scrapped song" section, even with the old sprites

This does feel like a bossfight song, but not to the point of Finale, I feel like it'd be better as a like a pre-Finale song like in between Finale and Identity Crisis.

The very beginning of the song reminded me EXACTLY of that
I’d rather get rid of identity crisis and give black his own week with defeat and this song, with finale as a suprise song that the game doesnt tell you about, like usual
I love the beggining, it's so misterious and a fantastic build up. The rest of the song is steroid defeat but still sound great. The new is still easily better. 9/10

The reason people don’t like it is because they don’t think it fits as a finale, I get it the finale is supposed to be the final send off to the imposter kid but it doesn’t fit black at all, imagine this real quick, if black is about to be ejected what would he do? He would go all out as he never lost a round ever. This is BLACKS finale.

This looks so haunting... yet so cool at the same time. It really gives off the feeling that there is actually a parasite controlling Black, and it finally came out of it's shell killing it's host in the process.

They should have kept this as a song before Finale, and change finale a bit to match the storyline.
So, instead of identity crisis, it would be this.
How I imagine it is black going all out in this song to not lose his winstreak, which he loses at the end of the song.
Then, Finale would be black with his power weakened from last event (he used all his power in this song), which is why it’s much easier than this.
So I’d like to imagine Finale is very easy to beat only because Black didn’t have as much power as he had in this song, considering he used it all up.
So this song takes part before Finale, during the same round it takes part in double kill or something.
Finale takes part AFTER this song, which is after the round. Black lost his winstreak even when he went all out, which meant he had even less power to work with. That’s why finale is easier than majority of the songs found in Impostor V4
In short: Identity Crisis is replaced with this song as a last attempt for black to kill you, which impacts the storyline more. Finale would then be understandable to be easier because black had less power to work with.

I don’t know why, but this version of the song is the finale than the new one (purely my taste, I love metal), it suits the style of fashion more, well, perhaps it would be similar to the others and not the finale

Why do people hate this design so much? It’s really not bad considering every line of that someone had to draw and animate.
Not only that this could’ve taken ages (which surprisingly, it’s actually really good!)
I honestly don’t understand why so many of you expect so much of people even though this is very VERY good, song and art.
They had to draw every line, but not animate it.
Most FNF sprites are animated using rig models to help make it easier to have them appear in-game, so they could just change the movement of the rig or switch to a different rig if they need a different animation

@winged pikmin basically, rig models are pretty much just pictures that you can edit to make animating really easy. Think of them as a set of stickers that you put on top of each other. You can place them on specific parts of the other sticker below it and change the position of the sticker to make it look like it's on a different part of the sticker beneath it.

Listening too this makes me feel like if week 3 were to have an alternative ending, this would definitely be the song to have after double kill. Maybe in the brig out side of the room with the ruby and the lights go out much like in, lights out. I've seen people mention that it sounds like a continuation of danger or a more intense version of danger. If it were to have a new name it could be "No escape"

My theory of why it got scrap was because in v4 black’s glass or what ever you want to call it changed the new one would not fit

This would’ve been cool as a potential second song following Defeat just with a different title. Also on a side note I didn’t really like finale tbh. I think it would’ve been cool if it instead had powered up versions of the other impostors we faced from Week 1-3 like a Triple Appear sort of situation. Maybe we could’ve have Yellow as a bonus character to help out temporarily to sing.
