I was Michael's age when this came out. I had the biggest crush on Michael. You're right. The Jackson 5 really blew up after this performance. They were huge!! They became automatic teen and preteen idols amongst us Back girls that year. I went to their first concert tour at Madison Square Garden that year in 1972. The crowd was jus fanatic. Absolutely unbelievable!! I'll never forget that concert or that crowd reaction to them.
I also saw the j-5 at Madison Square Garden. Believe it or not, we (Mom and me) were in the very last row all the way up! I think it was in 1972. We may have been there on the same night! For those of you who've never heard the whole song "Who's loving you," I recommend that you check it out. Here they're only doing a small clip of it. It's really impressive.
This was the time of sweet & innocent Michael with his brothers. You could see his great talent & charisma even at this young age. The Jackson 5 had a lot of hits in the 60's-70's such as "I Want You Back", "ABC", "The Love You Save", "I'll Be There", "Mama's Pearl", "Never Can Say Goodbye", "Sugar Daddy" etc. Michael Jackson's solo career started in the 70's with the songs "Got to Be There" & "Ben".
I have watched their performance of "Who's Lovin You"? numerous times, and MJ's voice still gives me goosebumps on this song. His voice was crystal clear and so pure. That's why there was no surprise that he became the King of Pop. He was immeasurably talented. He was destined for greatness. 🙂
Thank you KeV and DaVe! For reacting to this otherworldly beautiful songs ! Yes you are right world has gone crazy about Michael after that performance, 'who's loving you ' is a cover of smoky Robinson song, he watched this and asked how old Michael was and learned that he was only 11 years old and said he sang it like a 45 year old would, it shows what a genius Michael was from such a young age, thats why Michael is the one and only king of pop forever ❤️🙏👑🤟✌️🦋🌻
When this aired I watched it live with my 5 sisters and when I tell you we went insane that does not even begin to describe it. The Jackson 5 and The Osmonds were so huge that many people today probably would not understand it. Music was not accessible anywhere near where it was today so these variety shows were everything and viewership was astronomical for its time I read once.
I saw the J5 live at the Apollo theater in NYC I was 6yrs old and Lil MJ was 10urs old he has me by 4yrs and I was blown away seeing this kid that was only A few urs older than I was singing with so much soul as if he were A Grown man truly Amazing to witness it live at that time
Saw my first J5 concert at 4 years old in 1971 and it set me up to be a lifelong fan. I saw multiple concerts in L.A. after that (Destiny, Triumph, Victory; even flew home from college in TN TWICE - MJ got sick and the Thanksgiving shows had to be rescheduled in January - for the last two dates of the Bad Tour.) Many years later, I got to spend 5 days at Neverland. Yes, it was every bit as surreal as you could imagine. And I'm nobody special btw lol. Chris Tucker was a friend from before he was famous and we were working on some stuff at the time, so I was just really lucky.
Awww absolutely beautiful 😍 Legends... and Michael of course ....amazing Side note: Have you done something with your hair Kev? Dave let me know 😁😁 Great Reaction..Thanks Kev and Dave❤
I thought you had already reacted to this? Anyway he was born a prodigy and progressed to adult genius and you can see some little bits in his dance that he was famous for in adulthood.
Yes, the Jackson 5 were like the Beatles... they had their own cartoon and so many TV commercials. Aside from four number one hits, they have a smash Christmas album they play every year. Over the next two years, they also had their own Las Vegas TV show. Sold Out concerts all around the world.
Excellent reactions and comments guys 😂made me smile a lot, what beautiful signing yeah still sounds so good loved them all. I didn't realise the terms or names of the notes he was pulling off age 10. Its only now 😊😊 goodness me, if you listen to Dimash and Angelina age 8 such equality signing.🎵🎶👏
Another great reaction! I don't know if you have reacted to this yet, but could you react to the Nicholas brothers in the stormy weather movie performance. It's one of the best dance sequences.
After this performance ..Jackson mania went into overdrive...The Jackson 5 were so big ..There were no room to put them ..They tited the earth ..I know I was there watching this performance LIVE on my family tv set in 1969 It was a crazy time to be a Jackson 5 fan..
He was born to a Star
Or did joe beat him into a star..?
@@Ltforlife22according to his mother, he was already dancing to the sound of the messed up washing machine lol. He was destined to be a star lol
Michael's voice was a Privilege , that's why he came to be one of the best in history. #1 MJ forever.

Michael and I were born less than a year apart. I grew up with him.l sure do miss him.
He had more soul as a kid than many adult singers have as adults.
The greatest 👑
I truly think this is one of the best musical performances ever recorded
MJ was incredible talented. So natural.
Thanks for doing this ❤
Michael's voice was Not of this world!!!!!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💥💯💯💯💯💯
Musical Prodigy Thats proof right there since birth he was destined to be a star

Sounds so beautiful, voice was so pure and smooth.
That was our "Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show" moment.
The song Stand is originally done by Sly Stone and the Family
Jermaine's voice is so beautiful
He was a Star✨⭐before he was born and then he was Crowned👑once he was among us! Long live Michael Jackson!❤️
Michael was born a superstar. He had it all…his Mom said he danced as a baby!
Smokey Robinson wrote and sung this song. But Michael version took it to another level.❤❤❤❤
I was around then. And I heard him sing this song in person. Being 2 years younger than him. I just knew then that he was something special.
These reaction videos on this performance alone are making me cry. What a talent he was!
Got Goosebumps....
DIDN'T YOU.....?...😃
🙏k&D ...นี้แหล่ะ คือสุดยอด ที่โลกต้องจดจำ .The king of pop...👍👏
R.i.p amazing King! Amazing ! He was born to sing & dance! Sorry America didn' t respect him( The media) He was a miracle!

He took all the adult soul singers of Motown to school with this song - have a
listen of the full cut if you haven’t yet.🤌🏼
My mom and Dad saw them live shortly after this.. they also saw Elvis live.. always thought that was pretty cool and lucky.

Happy to see you two doing the Michael Jackson reactions again!
I thought you had already reacted to this? Anyway he was born a prodigy and progressed to adult genius and you can see some little bits in his dance that he was famous for in adulthood.
Jermaine on the bass had a killer voice too but MJ was obviously the star.

They're singing the song "Stand" by Sly and The Family Stone
I first heard that song “Who Loving you?” On a Diana Ross Shiw or Special.

Sly and the family stone made the song stand first and J5 Covered it
