    Good to see you bouncing back and great advice. I have to admit that 6 months of RDC work and trailer swaps made a noticeable drop in fitness as all you do is open doors or connect suzies etc. Being back on general haulage is a bit more physical with strapping and heavy curtains in winter multiple times a day so you're more active. Agreed on drinking water, I read that hydration also increases alertness way more than caffeine and I find this to be true. When I was on nights I've seen some trampers jogging around services, it's rare but hey fair play to them. I would also say you can buy resistance bands cheap and easily small enough to keep in the cab to do a kind of weight training if you get my drift. Any of us can Google "super foods" that boost health and they're dirt cheap. As you rightly say, your body is an engine, fuel it right and it'll last forever, run it on crap and it'll fail. I'm far from perfect but I know what is good and bad.

      I think the thing is most of us know whats good and bad but it's changing your mindset to care enough about it to make positive changes before it's too late. 👍

      @@truckitprayle I know exactly what you mean mate. I my self is guilty of knowing what I need to do but just don't really do anything about it ! That's purely because you have other things on your mind and it takes over you own life and health quickly. But I did start this year with a plan to get healthy and extend my life expectancy so to say for the future 🙏🏻 it's funny because you think we'll I'll go gym but it's like £20/40 a month an you can't afford it so you just don't go ! Yet it cost you absolute nothing to go jogging down the street or a park ect ect. I think we are all just to hard wired to having money to get fit when in reality you can get fit for free just doing a few minutes work out at home or truck or like a said a jog around the local park. 👍🏻

    Spot on !. simple stuff first. I swapped some convenience meals for fruit and had a quick walk on a break. soon it became the norm to a point where the walking got longer. ( podcasts help ) . Still need to lose more of the belly but it's working.

    Dehydration causes drowsiness, keep lubricated. Drink sips of water I have noticed nodding dog syndrome, after drinking liquids it does bring you around. Also the cab not being too hot, lack or low oxygen the brain Inflames rubs/massages against the skull resulting ones body into a relaxed mode resulting in falling asleep.temperature setting of 22 degrees is a nice workable/driving temperature.

    Hi mate I am glad to see you are ok 🙏🏻 healthy eating an little work outs will help you stay in reasonable health 👍🏻 I have seen a few drivers doing a little jog around the truck or from 1 tuck to a chosen lamp post a few yards away from the truck 10/20 minutes every day or walk like you said would benefit you so much 👍🏻. I can't believe an agency driver used your bedding 😮 seriously it's just not a done thing to use other peoples sleeping kit 😮 that would have binned the lot lol 🤣 anyway it's good to see you back and making them changes 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻

    Great advice mate, just would like to point out that the greatest body builder ever who won multiple mr universe and Olympia Mike mentenzer said that 2 hours a week in the gym is enough to get the body you want but in that few hours you have todo high intensity training.. so who on this planet hasn’t got 2 hours a week to go to the gym? Tramping is not an excuse and it goes without saying you have to watch what you eat..
    Also I’d ask you to check the legend out Mike mentzer and give his philosophy of gym going a try. How it makes gym so easy would have you believe it won’t work.. but you won’t know till you try it.. that high high intensity training is something I didn’t know about low reps heavy loads and every week you have to add a load..

    • @PW-zs2yx
      @PW-zs2yx 4 месяца назад

      You are right Mike Mentzer was a legend he won a perfect score at Mr Universe but he never won the Olympia he retired at the 1980 Mr O due to rampant corruption and them awarding it to Schwarzenegger after 5 years away. I like that you advocate his training i used it for many years, however it is best for actual bodybuilding not somebody who just wants to up there general fitness and it definitely isn't easy, you have to train to complete muscular failure as advocated like a damn animal. All my dude here has to do is eat cleaner less processed foods diet is key, then on top of that just do regular cardio even if its 3 times a week for an hour each time you will be completely fine.

    Don't know how you guys drive in those small trucks. No wonder it's not healthy. No room for fridges, microwaves, convection ovens...I guess we are really spoiled here in US. Good advice. I use a crockpot alot and my oven for cooking healthy. You just can't eat crap. Course our McDonald's food here is way worse then yours. Stay safe my friend.

    Well said mate. I've been on HS2 this week moving cranes and piling rigs, but it's ment I've spent the last 3 days in the same services and will spent another one too. Other than shopping at M&S everyday the other options are Burger King, Greggs, KFC and a noodle place. None of these are a healthy option but needs must. It should be services who consider healthy eating but instead they go for whoever is willing to pay the rates to have a place there. Weekends are the only time I get the fruit and veg so try and make the most of this.
    Also an old boss of mine use to say 'you haven't worked hard enough in the day if you can go to the gym after work' 😂.
    Tip: Take all your bedding home, it's easier to put a sheet on at home than in a truck 👍.
    Keep up the cracking content pal.
