@Esso99 it's not cheating when they call it profit and sustainability but they want you to under cut witch is not what it stands for how can you call it profit but want you to lose profit and we was only 24m over and if we was on the 105m we not have failed it

Was only last year that we got a deduction for effectively being over a 70m limit by 25m for 2 months (Brennan sale in August instead of June). Point I have is if promoted clubs were given the same allowances as the rest of the league then we wouldn’t have been over that allowance. How can they expect promoted teams to compete when they are financially not on a equal footing from day 1?
You had Forest in 12th because you were actually well informed and I think most Forest fans had us around there as well as did any of the educated guesses. Unfortunately that's where the well informed part ends. The PSR rant is incorrect, they were only deducted for one breach and you failed to mention that Forest had a significantly lower allowed threshold that other clubs at the time (about 50million lower) and were back under that limit with the sale of Brennan Johnson. It was not a systematic attempt to circumvent the rules and although Forest accept they had breached, they rightly pointed out that the rules were unfair, and that they were acting within the spirit of the rules i.e. profit and sustainability. Forest also had to rebuild an entire squad after promotion including 7 starting 11 players.
So have the rules now changed? I don't know the ins and outs of it but breaking the rules then going this far up the table I cannot not see as blatant cheating. My problem is what's to stop the other clubs near the bottom (especially the 3 promoted sides) doing exactly the same thing this window to help them stay up now, take a points deduction next season but with the players they bring in stay up again and push on like Forest
@@Esso99 Cheating would imply a deliberate attempt to flout the rules (ala Chelsea, Leicester and Man City). This was not the case and you are making it sound like this was the case. a 4 point deduction was/is a massive deal for a team in a relegation battle. The rules are also set to change, because even the EPL knew they were not fair and/or sustainable. They come into force next season I believe.
@@Esso99 Yeah it is, it makes no sense. Essentially, the rolling 3 year period takes into account (when promoted) the previous leagues rules as well. As a result Forest had a lower limit due to having to have two season of that rolling period calculated under Championship limits. This was around 50million less than other clubs.
How can you say it's not deliberate though? They overspent on new signings, could've sold Johnson and didn't to get more money off of him, they knew the rules and did that anyway, I understand whatever happened with Johnson there would've been a breach of 1 rule of another but that's only created by the sheer amount spent on every player signed and each of those signings was a deliberate signing with the knowledge of those rules. The only counter argument is "oops we miscalculated" which worryingly given the state of football owners is a genuine possibility but it's more likely they knew exactly what they were doing, stack the club with talent, try and get as much back in as they can but deal with it if they don't with the "the rules are unfair" (which granted they are) stance

Forest only got 1 punishment so you’re wrong Which was last season Only broke rules cos they sold a player for an extra £17million pound than they could of done at start of summer transfer window, if they’d sold early no rules would of been broken but they held on for more money for Brennan Johnson
