  • Dale was able to pick up a returned late season rifle Mule Deer tag in NV. This is his first time hunting in NV after filming down here the past 3 seasons. Going to a new unit, with limited time to eScout, he quickly finds good deer numbers and starts seeing some signs of rut activity.

    I know the general area where you’re at great country love my home state 👍🏼 and for the naysayers it is actually possible to kill a decent buck not far off of roads in NV…

      I think it’s a wilderness ridge model made by Beau Beatty. No info out on them yet, maybe this year🤷🏻‍♂️

    Great day of glassing, most people wouldn't see that many deer in a whole season.

    Nothing wrong with those deer. Gets the batteries all charged up to see plenty of animals, including legal shooters.

    Youre hunting too low, those big boys are up higher where less people go, they don't come down until the rut is in full swing.

      @@Thetinebroken Naw, takes real hunters to pack their rear ends up high. The other hunters showed up late and weaseled in on Dale's hunt.

    I'm not sure what last minute tag or how he got this tag but I'm sure it's not a easy general tag you can just go pickup. I feel like that's a little misleading. Awesome country either way . Great buck

    • @dangold1998
      @dangold1998 2 года назад

      It was probably a first come first serve tag he got. Everyone has a good chance of getting one. Not misleading at all!!

      He said it got dark around 6 or 630, so I'd say that it was probably late October

    Sounds like Oregon! Record low deer population and we are gonna keep handing out tags killing all the big bucks. As long as we keep the buck to doe ratio the same we don’t have to limit our tags. We still have deer. Imagine finding a dead head when populations are record low. Puzzling

    • @JH-wk9gw
      @JH-wk9gw 2 года назад

      You should walk into the local dnr office and demand that they fire all the biggame biologists and hire you. Seems like you know more than them.

    • @Huntnlady7
      @Huntnlady7 2 года назад +1

      As long as stupid states hunt bucks only, it is going to be that way. Senescent does do their part in keeping the deer population near carrying capacity, yet won't add anything to the genetics. Look up old records when states like California had all-sex deer hunts, and the records show that the following years were killer for buck harvest.

      @@Huntnlady7 Well you are sort of right. Their are 2 schools of thought for state agencies when it comes to deer management. The first school of thought is opportunity. This is what leads to everyone gets a buck tag and very few doe tags being available. But everyone gets to hunt. The second school of thought is quality. This is when agencies limit the population and get those high buck to doe ratios. The problem with this is often areas hold populations below carrying capacity and hunter opportunity lessens. My state (ND) manages for quality and it often takes several bonus points for a resident to draw a buck tag in average units. If you like to hunt be happy to live in an opportunity state. Because limited tags starts a bunch of new problems
