16th reason: - You read sheet music, which means, you can learn any music oh the world without having to look for its tabs. Just google it, “[name of the song] sheet music”, and you’ll have all the notes, rhythms and details to play the song.
To be completely honest he doesn't have shit on Sam. His covers are less on point and his prices for his work are totally overpriced, which is why he doesn't even have 1/6 of the Patreon subs ;)
@@milkmeapollo9048 I've been listening to BTG's podcast. He loves Sam's work. In my opinion, he is also an excellent classical guitarist who uses that knowledge for expert arrangements.
I went from classical nylon string as a kid to electric as a teen to steel string acoustic as an adult. I guess that must by why I'm so hip and down with the youth. I'm actually aging backwards!
I've always wanted to play guitar my whole life. I just assumed assumed it would be something that wouldn't happen. Over the past couple of years my taste in music has actually shifted from rock to classical similar to how to described how people start playing from electric to classical haha With a bit of context out of the way, I recently just earned my masters degree (which believe me is a miracle for me lol) and it's opened my mind to trying new things. All these things I "would never be able to do" are being questioned now. Why the hell not?? F it. I just bought my first guitar ever at 33. Classical of course. Lessons begin next week. Time to start knocking some of these "impossibles" off my list! You were a big motivator in that bro. Suck to sick here I come!
I play both electric and classical (intermediate at both i guess) . I use electric when i want to learn a nice melody that goes well with distortion or overdrive , classical for everything else. Man that fingerstyle technique is such a nice thing
Number six got me lmfaooo. I am so in love with both rock climbing and fingerstyle guitar that I've been forced to try out Alaskan finger picks. But now cause of the pandemic all the climbing gyms are closed so I've been able to go full long nail goblin mode. Feels good to be back
It has so much carry over to other genres, I was practicing shred licks daily and not getting anywhere, gave up on them and played exclusively classical, came back to shred licks later and I was faster and smoother than last time
2:50 i like having one guitar of pretty much each "type". for instance, i have a classical, a steel sting (6 string) acoustic, a 12 string acoustic, a 6 string electric that i use quite often and a 7 string that ill bring out every once in a while. i like having the options.
3 years ago i started playing classical guitar now i'm a professional flamenco guitarist and can almost play anything (I'm learning "entre dos aguas" now)💃
Haha hes spot on about the path of maturity. I progressed from metal, to math rock, to indie acoustic. Now i write songs. And my insides are screaming classical guitar. Its the best way to get better. And after you learned it. Go back to play those other genres. Bam l! Your much better now. Whats that you can sing too? Whaat you learned THAT from classical guitar? 👏 my man.
I have to say, I've learned a lot in this video. The words that really stuck with me were: "If the container is larger than your guitar, then you can take the guitar with you." I feel like this is so important to understand in today's society. As an airline pilot, in particular, it seems like several people don't understand that the container is smaller than most of the mattress sized guitars that they try to bring on board, but I am certain 100% that if they saw this video, they would understand that they cannot bring their guitars because the container is too small. Also, if anyone needs a reference to what I'm talking about, or still has questions, feel free to view 0:34 for more information.
I suck, thank you sam😂 “Play the classical guitar - it sounds like a summer breeze, waterfall, and kinda cosmic.” - Sam 2020 - I’m stealing this quote😅
But forreal, made the migration from typical electric to flatwound hollow body to classical and never want to play anything else. The resonance is like a purring harmonic cat on your lap. Plus a wider bridge greatly expands possibilities for multi finger speed and dexterity.
My first guitar was an acoustique guitar It's actually my dad's guitar But i really started and learned to play on my classical guitar And i'm enjoying it because it's a good exercise for the hand and i like playing it
I played classical guitar from 8 to 10. And then quitted because it sucked. I started playing electric guitar then at 14 or so and it was sick. Insanely fun. I even played in a metal band with my brother. Sadly finding reliable band mates is impossible. So me and brother quitted that band project after about 5 other band mates quitted because they didn't want to commit to a weekly rehearsal session. So I went back to classical guitar at 24. I then realized that when I was 8 it was not classical guitar that sucked. It was me (and my teacher).
True in every point, but there is yet another step in evolution. One more step to upgrade from classical guitar so to say: flamenco guitar It combines the best instrument with the best music. Fact.
Bro! after I found your videos and started getting into playing your classical ff covers you inspired me and I went out and bought a classical guitar. I'm all metal and I'm glad I'm practicing this awesome new genre. Opening up a new world of guitar oo baby

Oh, you think classical guitar is your ally. But you merely adopted the classical guitar; I was born in it, molded by it...

Another legit perk is that there's no risk of hearing damage. I guarantee you nobody is getting tinnitus from a classical guitar concert.

Why would anyone go to steel from classical lol
