Against popular belief, Tim Burton did not actually direct The Nightmare Before Christmas and had little involvement in the film's process. He was busy with the production of Batman Returns, and entrusted Henry Selick with Nightmare, because he did not want to deal with the "painful process of stop motion"
@@jeffreymiller2882 I saw that Tim created the story, characters, universe etc but he was already busy on the set of Batman so he asked his friend to direct it
My dad got my grandma (his mom) to watch Silence of the Lambs. He got her to see it by saying it is about lambs. She saw it and it gave her nightmares for weeks on end. My poor grandma. She passed almost a year ago. Rest In Peace, Grandma.
Seen them all except Ten Commandments. I think some silent films like Metropolis or Nosferatu would lend themselves well. 2001: A Space Odyssey would be fun.
Casablanca will be a great addition. If I can make a humble suggestion for another movie to add- Citizen Kane by the legendary Orson Welles. One of the best movies of all time. Even if you don’t want to add it, it’s worth the time to watch
I Absolutely Love How You're using iconic scenes for a lot of these movie Legos. As Some That Absolutely Adores and Has A Passionte Interest For Movies and cinemas, it's definitely something I absolutely love seeing.
35:27 I can help you -- that someone was me, haha. I invented the technique for my Hobbit vignette series (vignette #16 from October 2020). Cool collection of iconic scenes, they're all spot on. Great work.
While watching this video I couldn't help feeling like I had seen these exact builds before and then I remembered that I saw them at my local library in Bham! Had no idea there was a LEGO community here! Wonderful builds!
Wow! Small world! Yeah, I’m a member of the Magic City Lego Users Group (or MCLUG) and we occasionally do events like the library last year where we all brought stuff to display. I brought all the Pieces of Cinema vignettes that were from movies based on books!
Every one of those scenes were iconic, and you did a great job brining them to Lego. I will also add some other iconic movies/ tv shows as I think of them lol Suggestions: Breaking bad American psycho IT (remake) Spider-Man: No way home Avatar Predator
Love this build, I wish there were more films from the mid 2010s given the huge 6 year jump between HP and Logan. I also think it'd be cool if there were some more histoircal stuff like some silent films like maybe something from the german expressionist period would be cool, maybe nosferatu or something would be a great addition
The builder probably won't see this but just a small thing I noticed on the F-14 build for top gun maverick: in the movie, when the f-14 takes off from the taxiway, the front gear get knocked off it by a wwlkway/pipe/can't remember what it actually is, and in general when flying most modern aircraft have their gear retracted
These movie diagrams are simply amazing. There’s simple you can see what movie it’s from. I love it I think I’m gonna build some steps on my own. 7:12 😮😅❤
Nice for decoration in your room just like the star wars diorama sets. (Death Star Trash Compactor Diorama) I hope lego sees this or puts this on lego ideas. I think many people will buy them.
I would love for him to remake all of these with the pieces that Lego has available nowadays. Like he said, Lego has came out with their own versions of a few of these scenes so u know there r better parts to choose from now
as a movie buff and AFOL, great selection. Understandably a bit US biased. There would be great none-US iconic movies, like anything Kurusawa or Bergmann. Maybe Metropolis, or Das Boot..
@I was cursed to forever be a Lego Minifigure Metropolis was a film made in germany during the Weimar Republic era, after WW1. It was a very stunning film, but most copies of it were destroyed by the nazis. The designs of the sets and things however went on to be the basis for a lot of science fiction, such as the robotic woman in the film being the direct inspiration for C-3P0 from star wars l, and the Cybermen in Dr. Who. Das boot is a film about the U-Boot warfare, and is a relatively accurate depiction of it, over all.
The cool thing about this lego timeline video is that King Kong 1933 came first before Godzilla 1954 did, plus...King Kong is the 90th anniversary right now and I feel happy about it 😊
I LOVE The Aston Martin Db5 Moc You Made. I Love James Bond & Goldfinger Is One Of My Favourite James Bond Movies. I also Love Your Custom Sean Connery James Bond minifigure.
Correction: Spagetti Westerns are actually meaning that large portions/ all of the movie was filmed in italy as it would be cheaper to rent land and have the background like that. 8:35
So awesome but I would have loved to see your take on another iconic movie The Exorcist from 1975, Regan on the bed with the 2 priests and the pea soup throw up would be an amazing scene
Everything in this was SO good... except 1 thing, the plane at the end for Top Gun Maverick. It is an f14 Tomcat fighter jet. There has never and never will be an f13. Also the things that flip up on the wings: on real planes there are actually two sets on each wing, one at the end of the wing and one farther in. One of them does affect altitude, while the other, and the more well known, are the flaps that can best be described as affecting speed and lift, particularly with landing and taking off. I know that these are probably irrelevant details but I just thought I'd write them down here. For real though, the whole show was great, combining movies and Legos, two of my favorite things, was great
Tim Burton created all thouse creatures by drawing or painting them by himself and yes Henry Selick was the director. They do the same again in the year 2004 or later for the movie Corpse Bride.
Funny he'd mention the toilets in the horror films. Psycho was the first film ever to show a toilet flushing on screen. In all of film history, starting in the late 1800's, it took until 1960 for a flushing toilet to be shown.
Movies I'd love to make myself in LEGO: Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn Batman 89 John Carpenter's Halloween John Carpenter's The Thing The Avengers A Nightmare on Elm Street 12 Angry Men 2001: A Space Odyssey Saving Private Ryan Pacific Rim Transformers Star Wars A New Hope & Return of the Jedi
Well done but here are some suggestions: Change the Star Wars scene to the palpatine “Do it” meme and add name plates for each movie. Also the Top Gun ‘Maverick’ plane is an F-14 tomcat.
Well actually tim burton got credit for directing the nightmare before Christmas but he was actually working on Batman 2 so someone else was doing it but didn’t get credit unfortunately

@Josh Moreines bro what the frick use grammar and also everyone knows who the penguin is and stop using the goofy emojis
Not true I am a Tim burton fan
@TheSwothDoesArt no you clearly aren't. Tim Burton did NOT direct Nightmare Before Christmas. He wrote it.
As someone who LOVES movies, these iconic movie scene builds brought back so many memories and cool moments
Always love seeing Patrick adding new scenes to the collection!
Henry Sellick is the director of nightmare before Christmas btw :)
Thank you. The random guy who came over to say Tim burton was is misinformed
@@evan17campos17 Haha totally 😂

FYI: Ten Commandments used practical effects for the parting of the sea. The tour at Universal used to part the waters for the bus to drive through.
Seen them all except Ten Commandments. I think some silent films like Metropolis or Nosferatu would lend themselves well. 2001: A Space Odyssey would be fun.
It's been really interesting watching him build this over the years
This is brilliant!
I really like the Jim Henson inclusion behind Kermit.

Henry Selick directed nightmare before christmas. James and the Giant Peach, Monkeybone, Coraline, and Wendell and Wild are also under his belt.

Ah yes! That’s what I saw it from. Thanks, and great technique!
Love all of these 😍😍
Very well done, all the scenes are instantly recognisable
I love building vignettes and this it’s definitely a good inspiration
This is great! I’ve had a lot of nostalgia watching this and i’m excited for more!
18:46’ I knew they would have this! That is my fave movie and my fave moc that he has built

Suggestions:
Breaking bad
American psycho
IT (remake)
Spider-Man: No way home
Avatar
Predator
Also Fight Club, Drive, Gone in 60 seconds, the Godfather, Gone With the Wind, La La Land and list goes on...
Iron man would be a great addition to the collection, being the first movies in the mcu, and some of the most popular movies ever
Amazing! Would be really cool to add some other fan favorites like Forrest Gump and Shawshank Redemption
Was thinking to suggest the Green Mile, but those will do! 👍

Great little builds. Some of them could make it to market.
Fantastic... And it's F-14. The iconic fighter of the 80s.

I Love the grayscale ones. They are so clever!
Whenever I watch videos like these I always think how they got time and creativity to make this
13:11 fun fact: in the movie, jim henson had to be underwater in a diving bell with a monitor to see how it looked above the water.

They aren't classics though
@Yoda they are though? They are films that laid the foundations for their genres going forward. They are indeed classics.
I love to watch these it soo fun to see all the build techniques and movies
He needs to do Robin Hood (from 1939 I believe). Iconic in that it was a very early color feature film, and still holds up well imo!

Something from Ray Harryhausen would be cool! Perhaps the skeleton fight in Jason and the Argonauts? ;)
Just very satisfying to look at. Btw, it's an F-14, for the last one.

My favorites were Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jaws, the Muppet Movie, Ghostbusters, and the Shining

Some movies I would recommend for this build are, the excorcist, Apocalypse Now, and saw
The Lego Movie would be a cool one to see I think.
Here's to Patrick and Oder Real Creative Lego Master Builder.
It’s an f14-tomcat because of the wings folding and they unfold for combat and landing because you can get tighter turns and coast to the runway

Could you make a kingdom hearts build with donald, goofy, and Sora doing their hand thing
Scream would be such a great addition, spoilers ahead for what I'm gonna say.
Cases being stabbed, or Tatum's death would be great for that.
Muy buena escena 😊
I see you're a man of culture; Prisoner of Azkaban is the best HP movie
Would love to see a die hard or robo cop one
Interesting fact about the movie psycho it was the first American made movie to have a scene of a toilet flushing
He sure is a king of the monsters

Movies I'd love to make myself in LEGO:
Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn
Batman 89
John Carpenter's Halloween
John Carpenter's The Thing
The Avengers
A Nightmare on Elm Street
12 Angry Men
2001: A Space Odyssey
Saving Private Ryan
Pacific Rim
Transformers
Star Wars A New Hope & Return of the Jedi
