Aside from the fact that different gear will have different characteristics and technical capabilities, people often miss the fact that for many people there is (for some of us at least) a more irrational, emotional attachment to certain gear. I'll never get rid of my F3, for example. The photos it takes would be identical to ones taken by, say, my FM2, F4, or FA, assuming they use the same lens. But the simple act of using it is a pleasure for me, so it get used more often, and therefore *for me* is a better camera. Similarly I occasionally get tempted to pick up a more modern medium-format camera. But I doubt none of them could rival the joy I get from using the S2A with is completely mechanical works and super-clunky shutter. Realizing this is helpful though, as all the hype of new toys passes me by. E.g. I have no interest in the latest Fuji digital that RUclips lost its collective mind over recently. I'm sure it's a great little camera, but it's not a camera I have any interest in using, so *for me*, it is not a good camera. Still sorely tempted by a ZF though... :) I do like weird combinations and unusual things too. I recently started using a MIR-1 lens adapted to a nicely brassed Contax RX. It just looks and feels like a camera I want to use, so I use it. The adapter doesn't fit 100% and sometimes I have to jiggle the lens a bit to get the mirror to complete its cycle, but that's OK. It's part of the fun. Could I get "better" results with a modern lens? No doubt. But this is art. It's emotional. It's irrational. And anyone who thinks one must at all times use the sharpest lens that has had all its character engineered away completely misses that point. At any rate, I hope the 4x5 works its way into your heart eventually. 👍
Gear matters. I used Nikon since the 90's. Over the last 3 years I have tried twice to shift to other brands with smaller APS-C or M43 cameras - and their smaller lenses. Every time I end up selling it again, loosing money. Nothing wrong with them, I am just more happy shooting my good old Nikon cameras.
Lovely video thank you. What do you mean when you say you get no feeling from your 4x5? Do you mean you don’t enjoy it or get enthusiastic or what? Thank you.
It has no real history . It's a super technical camera, but that's where it ends . Maybe once I get some nikkor lenses I may feel different. But to me now it's just a fine tool .
Keep following your heart Dave.
Thank you
Thanks

Got it.. so it has somewhat to do with nostalgia.
I'll make a video in a week or so to explain . That will be .uch easier for me to properly explain .
Thank you, it will be enjoyable to watch your new video and appreciate your enchanting images.
