Super video with a great analysis. The show is awesome 10/10, it has very good messages that can make people think about themselves and improve themselves in conclusion. A world where every person has compassion, self improvement attitude and humility would be a great world that nothing can stop. I will share this video to my friend and hope they watch it.
Have you tried convincing them first? Showing the video first would provide spoilers and possibly diminish the initial emotional reaction they feel from certain scenes. Sometimes I make deals with friends to get them to watch shows if they're reluctant, telling them I'll watch one of their favorite shows if they'll watch mine.
@@ReddTurtl Yes, it's true. they need to watch the show first for sure. But I think this video is a nice addition with a great analysis on a great show. Yeah the idea of deal is interesting. Man, after season 1 aired I read the manga because I enjoyed the show so much. They weren't announcing a season 2 for a while, and I got nervous that so many great scenes would never make it to animation. Then Season 2 rolled around and I thought "Oh, no. Are they actually going to do it right?" Then Episode 1 dropped and I teared up and said, "Why do we deserve such perfection?" While I would argue that Episode 7 is the emotional highlight of the series, I will give episode 1 credit for being just as amazingly charming. Now we just have to wait for those OVAs and a proper ending to the series (which actually follows up on many of the themes you presented here and even more stuff. I cannot wait to see more BROCCOLI). Also, anyone and everyone who has watched season 2 should rewatch the first OP for those sweet sweet references.
@@Dell-ol6hb To answer your questions in order: kinda and around 4. There will be new Mob psycho OVAs coming out BUT they will be entirely new side stories. So, yeah, OVAs coming out not sure when. Last I heard it was late Fall, but I think it has been pushed back since then...
honestly whats super interesting between the season 1 and 2 OPs are how many fucking parallels there actually are with them and how they are laid out. I wont give away all of it, but there are scenes within both OPs that are very similar yet slightly different to show the parallels between mob for both seasons, or they have scenes that represent a similar scene from the shows themselves, but for their respective season. The only one I'll give away I thought was nifty is that both OP's show an iconic visual from the climatic final battle. Seaosn 1's shows the "eye" in the sky in the OP, but its also the exact same as the glimpse of the sky/moon that occurs during the final battle once the claw base was destroyed mostly. Then season 2 shows the giant ball of buildings in it. There are a handful of other parallels and it just makes me love that they put just as much fucking effort into crafting the OP's as they did the fucking show itself.
@@LieThePenguin Exactly! The theming for the 2 are amazing. In my opinion your best video man. Mob is my favorite show and I especially really appreciated your focus on Season 2 Episode 1. Felt that it was an really special episode and appreciate how you basically put those feelings into words. Keep up the good work man
This video really motivated me to get off my ass and start improving myself. You know, I always thought getting a girlfriend would boost my self confidence and get me to be a better person, but Nate and Mob Psycho 100 showed me I got that the other way arround. I should be working on my appeareance, health and social skills first and then seek out romantic fulfillment or even existential fulfillment for that matter. I don't even know why I'm commeting this, but BGE, if you're actually reading this, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
And by "Enoyed it properly", I meant that as you were breaking down the metaphors in this Anime, I was also looking back on my own Life, as well as looking forwards, and integrating them. Thanks again.
I really appreciate this video Nate, it touches on all the key things that I love about mob and I'm glad you can spread the word for this amazing series. I have a couple gripes with the second season, but that was just me having a preconceived notion of what I wanted it to be, being a manga reader. This video helped me actually realize that this is exactly that, the anime of Mob Psycho, not anything else, I just wanted to say thanks.
Thank you for putting the music in the description! I’ve been looking for the song that played at the end of episode 1 ever since it came out! Also the video was great!
Great video BGE, also glad i'm not the only one having a hard time enjoying digi's content lol, I love some of his older videos (the bebop video is fucking great) but lately idk. Glad I found this channel through him at least!
I've seen a lot of videos about mob psycho II explaining the emotional impacts of this season, but this one is by far my favorite. You never fail to show the most passion out of any other Anituber.
this show is honestly just amazing. ONE is a fantastic writer, and I can't wait until he writes more of the onepunch man webcomic (if he wants to, that is)
Mob Psycho is for sure a classic episode was also amazing because simple put the characters are all great and you miss them by the end of season 1 so it's like seeing good friends again
won't lie, teared up at Bestman getting emotional over S2E1. I remember reading that part in the manga sometime after S1 and getting just as teary-eyed, but the anime really took it to the next level. the wait between the seasons was well worth it for that scene alone imo.
My favorite moments have to be, Reigns Flashback to meeting Mob, and When Musashi expresses how Mob's determination gives the whole body improvement club courage was so deep. Don't get me wrong, at many times during this, I felt like crying, but those 2 really stood out to me.
One of my favorite moments from the show was when Mob finally emoted happiness with his psychic powers. This situation clashes with this idea that Mob just needs to get angry enough like Gohan to show his true power, which I enjoy.
Whats even crazier is you should rewatch season one after season two. A lot of "seeds" are sowed a bunch throughout season 1 for everything that transpired through season 2. I rewatched it as I was showing Mob psycho to a few of my friends who arent really anime watchers(They absolutely loved it. Even my one buddy who was saying at the start "If I dont like it I'm just gonna leave alright." ). And I kept having jaw drop moments/realizations through a lot of season 1. The biggest two were likely in relation to the final episode and then the climax scene of the reigen arc. Season 1 shows you the interaction of mob meeting reigen through mobs perspective while the climax of the reigen arc shows it to you from Reigens perspective. So during MOBs fight with Cactus boi, when he loses control in the end its noted that he begins to literally steal cactus boi's psychic power before completely deconstructing his school. Also in the final fight of season 1 with the 100% gratitude and reigen gaining psychic powers from mob briefly. Well thats the introduction to his ability to "share" the psychic energy from others. But the show never really specifies it as anything that special in either occasion outside of reigen having powers briefly. So much of the show is so organically done that it makes sense whether you realized it or not and I find that fucking amazing. How fucking well everything weaves together and honestly watching the first season again after originally finishing the second then rewatching the second as well after was just a fucking EYE opener for how well crafted it all is. Just like how they turned the gag moment of mob being given broccoli seeds into a massive plot point for the finale. Thats how the show gets you a lot, a lot of the "comedic" moments are actually very important, but you pay them no mind as they are shown as just some comedic moment. I also wanted to add for them feels and stuff, anyone notice reigen was a heavy fucking smoker prior to meeting mob. And then during the series(outside of the season 1 ED) we never see him smoke.
fuck... bge,,,, this is super inspirational my dude, gratitude 21398% this show is gold, i remember myself crying when mob was picking the pieces of paper, i mean.. dang
Episodes One and Seven were the highlights for me. Everything just worked so well and clicked up all the way to when the insert singles start playing. Same feels as when Sora Yori also did their unique ending songs.
Glad I wasn't the only one who dropped manly tears on that first episode. I was binging the show too and I just had to stop after just the first one to take it in. Good shit
Gotta say sajou no hana did a great job for the endings and insert songs, personally MP100 songs definitely my favourite song this year and i doubt there's anything that will replaced it tbh I'm a big sucker for emotional song....
Glad you mentioned One Punch Man. Very interested in hearing some opinions on S2. I rewatched the full S1 over the weekend just to remind myself what it looked like, and I don't know if I can keep watching the new season with the way it looks now. I can't recall a single impressive looking shots, but I can name a couple very egregious animation errors off the top of my head. I've seen the opinion that people are just spoiled on the old season and this one isn't bad being expressed a lot, and honestly I'm starting to think it's the other way around. I think people have gotten so used to shitty low-tier animation quality that they will eat anything up and ask for more.
I feel it too man. I don’t really care about the downgrade in animation cause it’s to be expected from all the news. The problem i have is it feels like the episode was rushed. Feels like they want to rush through the stuff with King before reintroducing us to Saitama and Genos first. It’s like the 5/4 years gap between the seasons didn’t happen. Oh and it doesn’t work when binging it also with the way they ended season 1 (with Genoses narration and everything). Not saying that I don’t like King. I’ve read the manga and it’s honestly one of the best stuff in OPM. The first episode didn’t really ease the viewer in like Mob’s season 2 opener.
Thank bones for season 2 episode 1! After season 1 I read the manga and that chapter really made me cry. Yes that mob psycho 100 manga with an artwork that people would generally say ugly hits me. After reading it I stared at the page where mob reassembling emi’s novel imagining how it would be animated. And they did exactly what I imagined and better and that ost hit the feels even harder! Also fun fact! Mob’s energy transfer power was actually established since season 1 episode 12 with 1000% gratitude.
16:44 THIS is a masterpiece xD But sadly, you don't know EVERYTHING about the broccoli yet... 23:40 I see manga REIGEN on this bookshelf :') I finished reading this today and boy - I really didn't expect it to be soo good! Like, I just thought it will be pure comedy and nothing much deep but it's writen by ONE, duh! OF COURCE it's as amazing as Mob Psycho 100! Lots of action, new nice characters and satisfying come-backs of the original ones, great emotions and character developments, just like in the anime. I recommend everyone to read REIGEN as well! I hope it will be animated someday
hey guy, great video. one small point i dont agree with tho. i dont see the "posessed girl arc" as just seeds for mob to learn some shit. i see it as a arc on its own while planting some seeds sure.
How is he so busy when he only makes one episode every 20 years? Nah I'm joshin', I love this shit. I can't wait for the next episode premiere at my son's christening. Just gotta find a girl first...
I wonder if we'll ever get Mob Psycho S3. It ended oh so long ago (the manga at least), it is reasonable that they wouldn't. But good lord with how good both seasons have been and what's left to adapt from the manga being what it is, I just wish to get more of that sweet sweet goodness animated in full.

fuck... bge,,,, this is super inspirational my dude, gratitude 21398% this show is gold, i remember myself crying when mob was picking the pieces of paper, i mean.. dang
A real man knows restraint. Actually thank you.
The 1st episode brought tears too my eyes
Episodes One and Seven were the highlights for me. Everything just worked so well and clicked up all the way to when the insert singles start playing. Same feels as when Sora Yori also did their unique ending songs.
Good timing, just finished it yesterday.
Nate you are the leader we need... i will try to be more like you
I dare to say S02E01 is one of the best epiosdes ever. I cried like a baby.
Teared up a little bit. Thanks guy.
Yup cried at that first episode also, also episode 7... also when the show ended
Glad I wasn't the only one who dropped manly tears on that first episode. I was binging the show too and I just had to stop after just the first one to take it in.
Good shit
Gotta say sajou no hana did a great job for the endings and insert songs, personally MP100 songs definitely my favourite song this year and i doubt there's anything that will replaced it tbh
I'm a big sucker for emotional song....
Thank Heavenly. Great video!
Possibly The most underrated RUclipsr ever.
I give props to ONE for writing 2 series and each of those series becoming a modern classic. I hope he makes another modern classic!
Perfect video man thanks
10/10 video my dude... keep up the good work :)
BestGuyEver : Planting seeds of the best anime ytchannel.
>i wanna go running right now
BOI go watch kaze ga tsuyoku fuiteiru
That first person shot was something i hade to watch 4 times
Because of how amazing that shot was
Good to see you're slowly bringing WIAGW down to the "weekly-ish project" tier that it grew beyond way too quickly.
bless for writing theme name
Thank bones for season 2 episode 1! After season 1 I read the manga and that chapter really made me cry. Yes that mob psycho 100 manga with an artwork that people would generally say ugly hits me. After reading it I stared at the page where mob reassembling emi’s novel imagining how it would be animated. And they did exactly what I imagined and better and that ost hit the feels even harder!
Also fun fact! Mob’s energy transfer power was actually established since season 1 episode 12 with 1000% gratitude.
Beautiful episode! I agree entirely on Mob Psycho being the message we need!
If i had an anime youtube channel... I'd want it to be like yours. Passionate, analytical, and very emotional. Performative, but not pandering.
The emotions in season 3 are gonna be even higher. Trust me.
@Lain Do you really think we're gonna wait 11 years? x'D
i totally saw this show and decided to show my kids this show and have them learn from it
thank you
I love how Reigen's flamboyance is a result of his evasiveness and the desire to help people without them even knowing it.
Mob Psycho 100 definitely is one of my favorites. And it will always be.
Totally agreed on episode 1. Got me teary.
16:44 THIS is a masterpiece xD
But sadly, you don't know EVERYTHING about the broccoli yet...
I loved this soooooo much
woah. I didnt expect this so soon. Ill watch after i watch Season 2
Good shit, man.
novel repair theme is called モブの優しさ(mobs kindness)
Up bup bup bup bup. Got to go watch the entire second season first. Will get back to this in a few days.
Best guy stayin hydrated i see. Just like my boy Mob, FIGHT ON!!!
Musashi is a real Beff Cake
Barely mentioning episode 4/5...bold move
The only disappointment from this video
hey guy, great video. one small point i dont agree with tho. i dont see the "posessed girl arc" as just seeds for mob to learn some shit. i see it as a arc on its own while planting some seeds sure.
How is he so busy when he only makes one episode every 20 years?
Nah I'm joshin', I love this shit. I can't wait for the next episode premiere at my son's christening. Just gotta find a girl first...
Episode one made me cry like a newborn.
I loved that Mob and Emi scene so much
17:07 Thank you!
Love the Estus sound effects from Dark Souls in the intro
I wonder if we'll ever get Mob Psycho S3. It ended oh so long ago (the manga at least), it is reasonable that they wouldn't. But good lord with how good both seasons have been and what's left to adapt from the manga being what it is, I just wish to get more of that sweet sweet goodness animated in full.
