This RAW, unzoomed footage is a gem in the sea of all zoomed coverage. Don't get me wrong, can't thank NSF, Tim, LabPadre and SpaceX's coverage enough! They're all fantastic. But yours? Yours is a gem. It gives you the perspective of how massive and loud this rocket is!
All videos is great, but these ones from the crowds really shows it from an amazing perspective, but it's also scary if that thing would go towards the crowd, or a town :P
There are 100s of zoomed videos, yours is truly a gem because it allows the people who weren't there in person to really get an idea of the scale of things. Thank you for showing us the bystander's perspective, and if you do upload the next launch, please do it in the same format and roll the video a bit before and later just in case you catch something cool, you can always trim it later!
Raw captures and not zoomed. These are the best videos and give us the scale of these things. Thank you for uploading this view and resiting the urge to zoom in on the rocket!!!
Thank you! I used the contrail as my reference when I was tracking it. I lost it on the camera sight so I just aimed at the reference point against the contrail and hoped it worked. Thankfully, it did!
Having never seen a rocket launch in person before, does it really sound like an endless stream of fireworks exploding on ascent? I'm sure it's a noise you can feel as well.
the rumble of power echoes scross the sky and makes everything, you included, resonate with the power of it and its like having echolocation for humans its nigh extrasensory at least for me. clouds, buildings, you can hear sound waves bouncing off them and their approximate location in your minds eye from where the echoes come from. ive only ever seen the falcon heavy demo launch in 2018 but while I was an enthusiast before that event changed my life. And it was a lot brighter than I thought it’d be. in person, where you dont have cameras and editing flattening out brightness and volume peaks into artificiality via limitations. for example the FH it was a bright day but it seemed darker in comparion those flames were orange but it was less orange and more like a bright copper filament in a lightbulb where it was almost hard to look at directly. i’m eager to see how starship compares and hope to catch the next one
Loud! You felt the sound in your chest as the rumble from the engines grew. It wasn't deafening though. If you put in headphones, or listen on good speakers, what you hear on the video is about as close to the real thing, just without the feeling of the sound in your body.
Thanks! I didn't use anything really special. I used my Pixel 6a, a Movo VXR10-Pro mic and a Movo grip handle. I had camera stabilization on and a good windsock on the mic to prevent the wind sound. “Can you imagine if some guy had to use the bathroom?” Made me think of how close Tim Dodd was to missing everything because he had to go to the bathroom lol
It was so slow at first! Watching the telemetry videos from SpaceX after we got home, I realized the acceleration was just as they expected. But boy, oh boy, it seems like it took forever to get off the pad!
@@MrSGChin It got off the pad suprisingly quick without 3 engines off the bat. And the starship is meant to literally sit on the pad for about 5-8 seconds before liftoff which is just insane.
Have you seen a Falcon 9 launch before? And if yes how much louder was the Starship launch even considering that I assume the viewing distance was bigger? Sadly I can't really experience a rocket launch for a while since I live in europe, we don't really have cool rockets , I mean I live next to Ukraine so I could see rockets but not this type of rockets lol
At nine seconds in someone says T minus one minute. At five twenty five someone lets out a whoop and it's flame on. At five minutes and fifty seconds I stopped watching. What good is watching something like this if people can't shut up and enjoy the pure sound of the rocket. I am sure there were people documenting the event also disappointed by the people shouting. Sorry your video was ruined but you salvaged what you could.

Thank you so much! I love all the coverage the other channels have provided too.
And show people's excitement awesome!

Thank you! Next time I'll add more time before and after for sure!
I was south and west of the launch site by about 3.8 miles. Sadly we were under clouds so we only saw liftoff. This is such a cool video!
I agree with you, Jorge.
Raw captures and not zoomed. These are the best videos and give us the scale of these things. Thank you for uploading this view and resiting the urge to zoom in on the rocket!!!
100%! This is something that I've always disliked as well. There are times I want to see the small speck in the distance.
Good video. It was a nice morning for a giant rocket launch.
Thank you for sharing, would have loved to be there. From AU
Epic capture bro
History in the making
Unbelievable, greatings from Germany. ;)
Thank you for this Views.
Great sound.
5:25 the boat passing timing is Unreal!
Skip to 5:20 to see the launch.
Thanks for share man!!!! Espetacular!!!!
Thanks for sharing
Good reference, much appreciated. It is pretty amazing that you were able to track it until the end.

Brilliant vid! C'mon f'kin Yacht!
I can hear my scream in your video 😅 Thanks for capturing and sharing this video!
That's awesome! I'm glad I caught your scream and excitement!

@@jessicakirsh that's amazing! Your video is awesome! Thanks for sharing! I'll see you at the next launch for sure!
@@MrSGChin Thanks for taking a look 👀 I live down here, so I’ll see you at the next launch, for sure.
Great footage! I love these raw video captures. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!

They do! ruclips.net/video/BdCizNwLaHA/видео.html&ab_channel=ScottManley
In the case of Starship, yes. And you could feel the sound throughout your entire body!
Every single one of those "fireworks" are shock-waves. Really goes to show how insanely loud it is.

You could also feel the heat on your face. I also felt the ground moving with each crackle.
You asking "Was that stage separation" near the end was somewhat comical to me
Excellent! Nice job capturing the whole thing.
Thank you! I'm so glad I didn't stop recording and got the explosion at the end!
From the sound i calculate the distance to pad was close over 4 1/2 miles. how loud was in in real? This is always hard to judge from recording.

5.1 miles
I still can’t believe that was the largest rocket ever to lift off lol
It was like a building taking off. It was so slow at first! I'm amazed!
Glad you made the drive and got to see it!! Dude! Best audio I’ve heard so far of this launch! Great vid too!! What kind of camera or mic did you use?

Great vid! Go SpaceX!
Thanks for this video man! It's so awesome....i cant believe what there happend yesterday...
Go SpaceX!🚀🤩👍
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it! And yes, go SpaceX!
The delay and subsiquent volume of the noise is just insane.

5:45 launch
Looked as if it was a struggle to fly even from viewed from this distance. The sound of spectators urging it into the sky was impressive.

nice
7:50 haha i've seen dozen of the starship launch video's and pretty much everyone said "oh ohw" at the same moment 😄
Was that atmospheric burn. A short Dome
Can you see the launch pad from the beach there?
Yes! It's a lot closer in person!

After 7 min where are you filming!?
man you guys are so lucky😮
Yes, we were very lucky to be there!
Too far away to realize it blew up
did the dust cloud fall on you or only on Port Isabel
It didn't, not where we were on the beach. It did go inland though, according to others.
How far away from the launch pad were you?😁
5.1 miles
🥰👍
8:05 It's supposed to go.... yeah 😢
This would have been perfect if recorded at 60fps.
I agree. I've learned a lot from this one and I hope to get it in 4k and 60 fps at least next time.

Awesome - This clip captures one of humanity's greatest achievements. Thank you for sharing this mile-stone clip and thank you Elon Musk.
❤ so cool amazing and fckin really gorgeous 😂
Sumua ini ada lah sia sia...
I don't think I would want to be that close (4 1/2 miles) from an out of control Elon Musk rocket.
All that to watch you hard earned 💰 go up in flames. 🙄
bruh, it's a flight test. relax!
