If you use D Harmonic min = Bb Lyd #2
      .................F Harmonic MAJ = Bb lyd b3
in a nutshell..you can alter it to min or dim or min/maj7
      It's EASIER if I explain it in C MAJOR/Amin
KEYS are just PITCH..it'll be the same no matter what KEY/pitch.
The BASIC....Im going to PUSH UP from the relative minor towards it's
      Parallel MAJOR ( from A min...toward A MAJOR)
      b3, b6, b7 = NATURAL min....these notes are also the second ARPEGGIO
      of the 1, 4, 4 chords....
      NATURAL min A min...........D min...........E min
      Harmonic min A min D min E7 ( aeo maj7)
      Melodic min A min D7 E7 ( dor maj7)
      Harmonic MAJOR A MAJ D min E7
If can give you SHORT CUTS
just MEMORIZE 2, 4, b6 , 7 CHORD degree are all POSSIBLE full dim
( it's becuase they OVERLAP in Different KEYS)
Wheather you use C Harmonic MAJOR/A Harmonic
      The......D, F, Ab. B.....or B, D, F, G#
      ...............................C Harmonic min....../Eb Harmonic MAJOR
...............................Gb Harmonic MAJ / Eb Harmonic min
      ...............................F# Harmonic min / A Harmonic MAJOR
The basic is...Learn how to play G7 into C
      ....................................................E7 into A
      G7.......................E7
      .......Bb........Db............aka N6 or tritone SUB
If you use FULL dim H/W ( NOTICE he mentioned b2 or b9)
      Dor b2, #4..... ...........AND.....Mix b2, #4 ( full dim H/W
harmonic min b5 AND melodic min b5 ( full dim W/H)
You can stack MAJOR, min, DOMINANT or dim chord every b3 intervals.
      You can also use
      Harmonic min b2 ( phry , maj7 ) Bb lyd #6
      Melodic min b2 ( dor b2, maj7 Bb lyd #5, #6
In a nutshell...you could also play the Bb or Db...as maj7 or AUGMENT too.
In a nutshell. ( notice IM NOT using ROMANS)
Just KEEP it SIMPLE..these are just the BASIC intervals
      in the CHROMATIC scale.
      1.. b2...2.....b3.....3....4.....b5.....5.....b6.....6....b7......7..8
      ....b2...........b3..................b5............b6...........b7
      learn...how to alter the 2, 4, b6, 7 CHORD DEGREE
      Then..............................5, b7, b9, 3
      Then.............................6...1...b3...b5 or 1, b3, b5, 6
MAJOR, min , DOMINANT or dim every b3...right ???? RIGHT
      Lets do that....
      A min Gb/F# min C dim Eb dim E7 into A min
      You can mix/blend more.
      C Maj7 F min Db dim E7 A min
A min Bb7 into Eb min Ab min G7 into C MAJ F min Bb dim E7 into A min
      or
      A min Bb7 into Eb Maj7 Ab min G7 into C MAJOR.
Just pretend you modulated to Eb MAJOR/C min
Ab as lyd #2 or Lyd b3
      or
      A min G#7 into C# min/E MAJOR
      or
      A min B7 into E
      ( in a nutshell A lyd b3 or Melodic min #4)
      G# phry b4......A lydb3.............B mix b2
      C# Harmonic b2 C# min D dim E dim F min Db Maj7 G7 into C MAJOR
      ............................. A min Bb7 C7 F min Bb dim Db dim G7 into C
or Play the N6 chord of C# min as maj7
      A min G#7 into C# min D Maj7 B min E7 into A min
A min Bb dim C dim into C# melodic min
A min C dim into C# Harmonic min
      .............................C dim/G#
      NEAT...yeah???
It's a hella alot better than just playing the same 3 chords...NO ?? lol

@ahrod Because it’s a b6 interval, like every natural minor key. Check out my video on chord numbers ruclips.net/video/qS-p8jRZFDg/видео.html

I was going to ask that. I understand the reply from the Bearded Guitarist but I would typically think of that as the VI of Dm. To me the b6 would be A.

      @@nathansullivanmusic7574 The strings are tune to perfect 4th or INVERTED 5th....( A= V of D)......B = VI of D
If you're in the KEY of F MAJOR/D min...
The MAJOR SCALE is just your REFERENCE.
If you write CAP ROMANS..it's going mean MAJOR chord to most people.
So how would you EXPLAIN to PEOPLE how or WHY ????
( dont need too....just play whatever sounds good to you)
      If however...Theory buff questions you.
You could say...You use the D FULL dim H/W scale to obtain that...
becuase you CAN stack....MAJOR, min, DOMINANT ...half or full dim
      every b3 INTERVALS..
      Example...if you use the D melodic min scale..it's E dor b2 and A mixb6
      In a nutshell....D min E min A7 into D min
      You could do this
      D min B7 into E min A7 into D min
      or this
      D min B min E min A7 into D min
.............B MAJ, min, Dominant or dim every b3 intervals right ??? RIGHT
      or
      D min B dim C7 into F MAJOR
      or
      D min G7 into C7 into F MAJOR
If you use the Full dim H/W
a semi tone above it is Full dim W/H....( in a nut shell.....Eb dim)
      It's also SYMMITRICAL
D min Eb dim C7 into F MAJOR
      Just for REFERENCE
      D min......G min......A min
      D min G dim A 7 ( harmonic min)
      D min G7 A7 Melodic min
      D min G MAJ or min.......C dim
      D min G min C dim Gb maj7 B min E min A7 into D min
.....................................Gb is the N6 chord of F MAJOR..
You could play it as Gb maj7 , Gb7, Gb min....or even Gb dim
if you use Gb/F# dim...well it sort of CAN make a D7 chord..
But you COMPREHEND/KNOW you could play D min, MAJOR or DOMINANT or
      dim every b3...RIGHT ????? RIGHT
      F Maj7 D7 G min Eb Maj Bb Maj7 C7 into F MAJOR
Lets go with D dim...because YOU CAN and it sounds COOL
      F Maj7 D dim G min B min C7 into F MAJOR
      It's JUST DIFFERENT COOL sounds/chord progression....but resolves
back to the F MAJOR/D min chords...to give your songs different flavors.
