Thanks! This is so much more simple and straight forward than some of the earlier Acer aspire models that I have seen being upgraded! One tip for people is that when placing the bottom cover back on make sure you secure the battery side of the edge first before pressing down on the other sides as that side is difficult to lock down once the other sides are secure. Had to push the cover out again to redo it and broke one of the little catches in the process so be gentle!

Hey brother, I NEVER tire of the great East Indian accent. God bless. I'm replacing the keyboard that's missing buttons, adding a 60 gig Ocz Vertex ssd, adding a 2gig Crucial 1033 Cl-7 dim and booting a proper Windows 7 Premium OS. Should be an awesome and energy sipping lil machine.
Thank you for this video. It made upgrading the RAM so simple and straightforward. Followed these steps exactly and within 10 minutes I had a quicker, fully functioning d270!
unbelievable, took me 2 hours to remove the keyboard and back panel. You make it look easy, it was very tricky. Also whilst replacing the back panel, I managed to break two of the back tabs. Very tricky work!
I wish I saw this video earlier, I have been suffering with my 1 gig acer aspire one netbook. I am ordering a 2gb card today !! Thanks for the great video.
Thank You for taking the time to make this video. I don't think I could have figured out how to get to the RAM and HD on my own..... without breaking something. Again, Thank You!
Thanks for the tutorial. 2GB of Kingston KVR1333 CL9 SODIMM iis in and it really makes a huge difference! The only thing is the RAM hinges/retainers are possibly broken (the plastic covers but not the metal hooks). I lost an hour to figure a way to make those arms to hold the RAM down again. Other than that, it took me 7 minutes. Thanks to you. I subscribed too. Cheers!
Thanks... this video saved me a lot of time. I was going to take the memory out of an Acer that died and add it to the new one but I realize I can't just add the other chip they actually need to add a 2gb memory instead of two 1gb.
Absolutely fantastic tutorial, swapped the RAM for a 2GB stick in less than 5 minutes! I bet lots of people now have a 1GB RAM stick they no longer need :p Thanks buddy
great video, worked a treat. Easy, painless and straighforward - careful of the keyboard tabs though, one of mine flew off and I can't get it back in but it still works fine.
A friend gave me a D270-1835. What a little doorstop that was. I decided to upgrade it to 2 GB RAM and it actually works more like a real computer now. I now have three keys that won't stay on (they must have a tool at the factory to set these in cleanly), but even if I have to replace the keyboard, the darn thing is working and it's faster. There were more screws to remove in the unit to free up the back than shown in this video and retaining clips to work with as well. Different model I guess.
thank you for this video! i've been debating installing the DIMMs i ordered with my 2 sons netbooks, but the install was as you described for AOD270. only difference is there are 5ea "door" screws, all are clearly marked once the keyboard is removed.
Thanks a lot, for the technical view of this net-book RAM upgrade. Your lead was an exercised, efficient example. You made it look easy! I replayed your show a few times, and it now works. Thanks again!
Great tutorial, I Had a bit of trouble on my D270, When removing the keyboard press downwards.. Also small clips where the battery was broke when removing back plate, but went back together nice and snug no big deal!... Thx! Subscribed! :D
Thanks, a great help. I doubt I could have done it without your nice vid. At 1 min 42 sec into the video you says to ''push down a little'' to release the back cover. You push on a small rectangular box with a screwdriver. I had to press so hard that I really thought I might break some plastic. (I did not.) The ram I got is from Crucial. >> crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Aspire+One+D270-1375 Part #: CT4045082. It works fine.
Thanks for uploading this video :) Changing out ram is very straightforward for this laptop once you know what to do. I'm swapping my factory 1gb with a Kingston 2gb right now.
Thank you very much, i just upgraded succesfully to 2gb of ram without breaking anything. The most difficult part for me was to put the keyboards cable, back in place (took me 2-3 min to find the slot)
Hi, The resolution is low because of the limitation on graphics/motherboard. Even if you upgrade to win 8 the resolution might be as low as in win 7 starter. Thanks for visiting Do Subscribe
Thanks so much - I agree, you have made it look much easier than some other videos that have you basically taking the machine to pieces. So am I right that there is no need to remove ANY screw from the underside?
Note that the cover is held by 3 hooks at the rear, by the battery. Don't pry there, or you will break the hooks; unsnap at the sides and front, then unhook the back. On the keyboard there are 3 plastic spring clips along the top of the keyboard at F4, F8 and F12 that push horizontally to relase the keyboard. At the top corners and on the sides there are "tight spots" that will release as the KB is lifted at center-top.
Fantastic! I've got a related question: I'm wanting to upgrade to Windows 8; will the maximum screen resolution change (i.e. is it currently set so low because of Windows 7 starter?), or is that a limitation of the motherboard/graphics card?
yes, no problem, windows8 or windows 7 full version is also possible(not starter).intel ceder trail 2600 and 2800 support up to 4GB ram, but manufacturers of mobile device i.e note/netbooks advise 2GB because of build system and don't want system to overwork, the choice is yours, I have had no problems.

Very helpful, changed my RAM in 15 minutes. Also, like how accurate and concise the video, exactly covering what is needed, and no more.

Thanks! Your's is the best video on the Acer One / Happy D270. One other guy didn't know how to use tools, another just showed us his elbow.
