@California Cruzin' It's considered inappropriate because it violates kids' safety and privacy. (With that being said, Sim Z's wife could get in big trouble because of that...Regardless if she meant well.) Kids who trick or treat are minors and also considered vulnerable. They are not old enough to consent. They, for the most part (depending on the age of the minor(s)), do not understand, fully comprehend/are knowledgeable, of ALL of the consequences (if they knew any to begin with) that goes along with a stranger or group of strangers, taking and having in their possession, said minor(s) photo(s). There are some truly crazy and dangerous people out in the world. People who absolutely DO NOT have children's best interest at heart. For example, who knows what will be done with the photos, - if it gets reproduced who else would get a copy, what other people will say etc. It could potentially harm the minor(s) in some shape or form. Especially in this day and age where any individual can be easily doxxed. Not everybody that you come across means well. No matter how kind they look, act or talk. (*Please note, I am NOT implying that is Sim z's wife's character, or that her action was malicious in intent. I am just giving general examples and what not, as to why taking random kids photos is a bad idea! I have some experience in ECE, and kids health & safety is the #1 priority. Even ECE'S, ECA'S, student teachers etc. need written consent from the parents of the minors that they work with, before they can start snapping away and taking photos of their class. Gotta protect the children's' identity and or any identifiable information!)
