I knew the people who signed and developed Jewel at her label. They were really excited about launching her album. I went to see one of her early performances, she did not disappoint. Very talented woman, so connected to the essence of music.
U can do it 💪 💯 keep ur head up girl 💪👊 and keep practicing that's the secret and u will get ur style and that's what makes musician special 🤔🤨🙈🙉🙊🤭🤩😜🤩🤩
I remember when this was brand new on MTV in the 90's and I've been a fan of Jewel since. What a beautiful and free spirit. Foolish Games is my favorite song of hers but this has nostalgia for me now.
How is in my 16 and I fell in love with her when I first seen her her and Alanis morissette were probably the 2 best at the time cuz especially Jewel because she plays guitar every song that is very and I can't believe she straighten that too that made her some cuter than any other musician I've ever seen or any other woman I love this girl
This has to be the best version of this song I've ever heard. Her voice is just flawless. And the story behind that song is just wow she really did travel all over to write that song. I love Howard at the end saying wow i would save your soul mmmmhm yes i would jewel 😉 😉 love Howard Stern.
I’m from the traverse area!! She must of went to the interlochen school of fine arts I’m shook- such a cute little town I would always drive through lol I love jewel so much literally mind blown she is such inspiration
Jewel is so fortunate to have grown up in a rural area when she did. It definitely made her who she is. Cell phones were huge then and only the really rich could afford them. Plus they were huge and came with a briefcase lol. Rural areas didn't get cable, you got the 3 channels on TV (NBC, CBS and ABC) if you were lucky. If your family could even afford a satellite dish, they were the size of an outbuilding lol. Kids had to entertain themselves and that definitely fostered creativity. Most importantly though was definitely the no cell phones like we have today, thus no social media madness. If she was 16 now, we wouldn't have a Jewel.
Fortunate might be a strong word, it was physically tough, they lived in Alaska with no electricity, no running water, building everything themselves, hunting and collecting their own food, and when her father became abusive she left home and was homeless for a while.
I'm a metal head but I can always listen to her. One of my favorites since high school. I miss the 90's
Most authentic, original artist ever. No one sounds like jewel. She's so beautiful and talented.
Jewel is a true rags to riches story. Makes me love her even more!
This is one of the best version. I imagine Howard stern and the studio was entranced by this magical performance that day
I like how she asks "how much do you want?" before she starts. Like anyone is going to tell Jewel not to sing this entire song.
She has a voice of an angel. I get chills listening 👍
No backtrack no band no synth love her or hate her that’s talent right there

She has a voice like no other ...
Her family is on the Alaska Last Frontier show and appears periodically. She's tough. Earned everything she's got.
What channel is the Alaska Frontier show on?
Written as a 16 year old??? What a story and what a talent and soul.
I love Jewel. Pieces of Me inspired me to become a writer.

What a remarkably feminine beauty. I know she's had a rough "work-for-everything-you-get" life. She deserves all of it.
