I think this is better understood as occupying the market between pop-up trailers and car-top tents (which easily run $1500-2500).
Compared to a pop-up, you avoid a lot of the issues with pulling a trailer. Compared to a car-top tent, you free up the top of the vehicle for kayaks, bikes, gear lockers, 🎉etc.
Personally, I'm not the market for this product...I'm fine with my current tent and camping gear...but can see this filling a niche.

Ok, let’s think critically about what you get for your money here. It’s a tent with terribly low headroom, that is almost as bulky and heavy as a small trailer. It takes up a lot of room to store in your garage (let’s face it, if you don’t have a garage, you cannot own this thing) and you probably cannot maneuver it around by yourself when it’s not attached to your vehicle. It basically has 90% of the drawbacks, and requires the same equipment, as towing a small trailer. In return, you get an overly complicated mechanism that does keep you up off of the dirty, wet, buggy, uneven ground. But so does a cot tent, at about 1/10th the cost, much less complexity, is maneuverable by one person and can fit inside your car. Or, for about the same money, you can buy a used camp trailer. We are all stupider for having seen this thing. I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.
