I recently reunited with my dad after 23 years. 23 years later and he told me how he should have fought to keep a relationship with me, and my 4 younger brothers. But he didn't. I've had this hurt, this loss and pain in me for about 30 years... and when I let out just a little.bit of that pain while i was drawing last week, I couldn't touch my drawing again for a week. Yesterday I sat down again to do a study of some rocks. I was listening to you on the way to the beach, to relax. My neevous systen is so overworked. Anyway. Thank you. You're a light in the darkness David. I'm clearly not alone in needing to hear this, to feel this along with you. My heart is broken but it's the cracks that let light in - and out. .

The word kintsugi translates to "golden joinery" or "golden repair" and is a centuries-old technique that involves mending broken pieces with urushi, a Japanese lacquer, and then decorating the joints with powdered gold.
