Hey Rob, Thanks so much for your heartfelt reaction/review of our project! We love doing these great tunes, and working with my local and International musician friends is a tremendous joy. Collaborating with Tori is simply wonderful... she is an absolute star in the making! Cheers and Happy Holidays to you! -Jim
@@RobSimmons19 Though he's being a little modest here, James is the piano player, backing vocalist, and the guy who brought all these angels together to create a dream come true. The memoriam at the end is for the former lead vocalist on this project who unfortunately passed away before it could be completed. RIP Karen and Gia.
Hi Rob, The Queen of Carpenters Covers is the take away. That she is and so much more. Thank you for this enthusiastic reaction and I’m with you. This was a glorious cover of an iconic song. Tori even subtly made parts of it her own. She sang some of it as herself, if you know the original well, it’s more obvious. There is especially one part, she just nails it. Thanks again for this reaction and Happy Holidays for you! Joe
Tory Holub does a superb job on Carpenters songs. She's very well coached & practiced. None of these recordings were done on her first take. That's the biggest difference. For Karen, her vocal prowess was unrehearsed & natural.
Technically we don’t know it. Obviously Karen practiced before they rolled tape. She was human let’s not forget. “One Take Karen” wasn’t for every song. Of note were Superstar and Now. Overall, I don’t know an exact count of how many she got in one shot. Tori the same, she must practice and then press the record button. Is she a “One Take Tori”? I don’t know but her precision is shown in Eduard’s video where he runs the Carpenters video but Tori & Jim’s audio. He told me, he lined them up and let them go. No editing was needed. Perfect sync. Since Karen was miming to the album track. If Tori used that as her click track, sync. Hope you had a great Christmas! Joe Oh let’s not forget, Tori may be a “Time traveling vocal cord thief.” We don’t know for sure. 😊
