I see many comments about Minho, but did anyone else notice that Key looked really sad when saying it was their first time as a four and looked kinda sad when watching the footage? My heart goes out to them all.
Actually, the 4 of them looked sad. They all look like choked up and their smiles stiffened. The subtle eye twitch and the hard swallow they tried to hide. I rewatched this video as I got lost in the SHINee RUclips hole again so this time I see more details about how they talked and their gestures. As a Shawol, this will always be something heartbreaking, even now, sobbing like a child is a norm because the pain remains.

이 컨셉(아이와 연예인 나와서 대화하는) 영상 좀 봤던 사람인데, 지난 번에도 이런 댓글들이 있어서, 이 영상에서 온유씨 파트너였던 친구가 문답 형식으로 영상도 찍었었어요. 저도 그 영상 봤었는데, 촬영컨셉을 미리 알려주거나 대본을 주지는 않는다고 했어요. 이 영상에서도 아이 질문이 알 수 있다면 그렇게 할 수 없을 만큼 너무 천진난만했고, 그걸 들은 민호 씨 표정도 절대 연기 같지 않네요. 너무나 많은 것이 지나가는 표정이어서 보는 사람이 울컥할 정도인데. 샤이니가 고인 이용해서 이슈 일으킬 만큼 못 나가는 것도 아니고 아직도 현역으로 충분히 매력 있고 해외에서도 잘 나가는데, 이런 댓글은 좀 씁쓸하네요. 우리가 그 동안 너무 많이 속아와서 그런 건 아닐까 싶어서... 저는 팬은 아니지만, 제 학창시절을, 샤이니 노래를 들으며 보낸 사람으로서, 항상 마음으로 다섯 멤버를 응원하고 있어요. 진심으로 행복하길 바랍니다.

A better translation than the one in the video would be "he was unwell health-wise", that whole exchange made me absolutely bawl, I think minho put what happened in the best way he could. Looking back at everything is always bittersweet but SHINee was 5 and always will be 5.

This really made me feel uncomfortable. Yes, his face says it all. He wanted to cry but he just couldn't. Also Onew too. He literally broke down inside when he saw Jonghyun crying. That gave a damage to members for sure and I can't accept that. Channel could explain this to kids in a way they could understand. I think the channel owes an apology to both members and fans. This video is good but when you see those parts, it really affects people who love him. I had a really tough time that day and this video took me to that day again. I really think this is wrong and to make sure that this won't happen again anywhere, I want an apology.
I’m glad to hear one of the kids say “ So he isn’t a bad uncle”. Because now, there are so many scandals involving idols, actors and people from the entertainment industry almost everyday that has a bad effect of kids point of view on the adults.

Honestly, the way Minho handled the girls question was very mature. He didn’t want to make her sad and he also probably knows that with adults, the response would be something like “sorry for your loss” but with kids there would probably be a follow up question like “how?”

샤이니 세대를 관통한 저로선 오묘한, 뭔가 설명하기 어려운 기분이 들어요. 샤이니를 지키기 위해 멤버들이 참 열심히 달려왔구나. 그리고 2000년대 후반은 1년이 길었다고 느껴져요. 생각나는 것만 해도 누너예, 줄리엣, 조조, 산소 같은 너, 같은 컨셉으로 연하남 이미지 굳혀놓고, "완소남, 연하남들이 남자가 되어 돌아왔다" 면서 아미고, 링딩동 컨셉이 쇼크였는데 이게 다 1-2년안에 이뤄진거였다니... 정말 부지런히 활동 했었네요

Its nice to see that we are not just "erasing" Jonghyun from our memories. Its nice to see they didn't cut the scenes were they talked about him. You can tell that every member still feels the loss but they are still moving forward. I cried so much but im also happy i saw this video.

He really had that sad look on his face, of course they miss him, but I love how he pronounces his name even with joy and pride. And the way he explains why 'Uncle Jonghyun' wasn't there is priceless, with so much respect. Like I said, they really miss him, but they continue to make it amazing even without him (a really important part of the group)

@GIGI Living the life they'd had and being the leader, Onew was always mature for his age. His tendencies for silliness and dad jokes are not a measure of his immaturity. Just like how silence does not equal maturity. The type of silence that is borne of anxiety from talking is not normal, especially when he didn't use to have it. So no, it's not a good thing.

I already saw that question coming. Kids are very alert when it comes to these type of things. It’s a little innocent girl, so she can’t help it. Minho is so strong for coming with an explanation that quickly.
When Minho had to explain why Jonghyun wasn't in "Good Evening", that got me. But at the same time I'm so happy that they let at least one of the explanations in as I'm sure all of them had to explain why they suddenly went from 5 to 4. Minho's exchange for me was so heart warming. It makes me believe that they are doing well. That they miss him and that it still hurts but they're able to go on for him as that's what he would have wanted. SHINee will always and forever be five.

To all those people saying that they shouldn’t have shown videos of Jonghyun, you’re wrong. He was and still is part of the group and there in our memories. It would be disrespectful to ignore his existence. If the members approved it, let it be. Maybe it’s their way to pay respect for his existence and to preserve his memory. Of course, they will have to face the subject at some occasions, they know it and are prepared for it. It’s really brave and we should just support them. I see many comments about Minho, but did anyone else notice that Key looked really sad when saying it was their first time as a four and looked kinda sad when watching the footage? My heart goes out to them all.
Actually, the 4 of them looked sad. They all look like choked up and their smiles stiffened. The subtle eye twitch and the hard swallow they tried to hide. I rewatched this video as I got lost in the SHINee RUclips hole again so this time I see more details about how they talked and their gestures. As a Shawol, this will always be something heartbreaking, even now, sobbing like a child is a norm because the pain remains.
I noticed it 🥺 Onew was the first one, just from the clip of their first win. Then Teamin, when he told the kid that was the first time only 4 of them, Minho when answering the girl of the missing member and ... Key, he just watched, but his eyes were so sad...

이 컨셉(아이와 연예인 나와서 대화하는) 영상 좀 봤던 사람인데, 지난 번에도 이런 댓글들이 있어서, 이 영상에서 온유씨 파트너였던 친구가 문답 형식으로 영상도 찍었었어요. 저도 그 영상 봤었는데, 촬영컨셉을 미리 알려주거나 대본을 주지는 않는다고 했어요. 이 영상에서도 아이 질문이 알 수 있다면 그렇게 할 수 없을 만큼 너무 천진난만했고, 그걸 들은 민호 씨 표정도 절대 연기 같지 않네요. 너무나 많은 것이 지나가는 표정이어서 보는 사람이 울컥할 정도인데. 샤이니가 고인 이용해서 이슈 일으킬 만큼 못 나가는 것도 아니고 아직도 현역으로 충분히 매력 있고 해외에서도 잘 나가는데, 이런 댓글은 좀 씁쓸하네요. 우리가 그 동안 너무 많이 속아와서 그런 건 아닐까 싶어서... 저는 팬은 아니지만, 제 학창시절을, 샤이니 노래를 들으며 보낸 사람으로서, 항상 마음으로 다섯 멤버를 응원하고 있어요. 진심으로 행복하길 바랍니다.

This really made me feel uncomfortable. Yes, his face says it all. He wanted to cry but he just couldn't. Also Onew too. He literally broke down inside when he saw Jonghyun crying. That gave a damage to members for sure and I can't accept that. Channel could explain this to kids in a way they could understand. I think the channel owes an apology to both members and fans. This video is good but when you see those parts, it really affects people who love him. I had a really tough time that day and this video took me to that day again. I really think this is wrong and to make sure that this won't happen again anywhere, I want an apology.

@GIGI Living the life they'd had and being the leader, Onew was always mature for his age. His tendencies for silliness and dad jokes are not a measure of his immaturity. Just like how silence does not equal maturity. The type of silence that is borne of anxiety from talking is not normal, especially when he didn't use to have it. So no, it's not a good thing.

When Minho had to explain why Jonghyun wasn't in "Good Evening", that got me. But at the same time I'm so happy that they let at least one of the explanations in as I'm sure all of them had to explain why they suddenly went from 5 to 4. Minho's exchange for me was so heart warming. It makes me believe that they are doing well. That they miss him and that it still hurts but they're able to go on for him as that's what he would have wanted. SHINee will always and forever be five.

To all those people saying that they shouldn’t have shown videos of Jonghyun, you’re wrong. He was and still is part of the group and there in our memories. It would be disrespectful to ignore his existence. If the members approved it, let it be. Maybe it’s their way to pay respect for his existence and to preserve his memory.
Of course, they will have to face the subject at some occasions, they know it and are prepared for it. It’s really brave and we should just support them. As long as the production team is respectful, let’s appreciate their courage 🙂
