    I had a small block Ford with ProMaxx heads.
    Having taken them to ProMaxx and being allowed to watch them do a spring upgrade and seeing the care they put into assembling the heads with quality parts is impressive.

    Great Video, I run the Promaxx 317’s on my 498 BBC with an 8-71 Supercharger. Gotta say these heads Are A Very Nice Piece and make Great Power, wasn’t mentioned in the video but these are Chinese Castings that are Professionally Assembled in The US by some Really Knowledgeable Guys, I’ve Spoke with them on a few occasions and couldn’t be more happy with their customer service and advice.

    Pretty good results and honestly that 625 lbs and 685hp and i think that's pretty good for a 496 and i get it a lot of people made more power on a bbc and all that but really with just lower buck heads and nothing top of the line what i think it's making good power. Amd if people say oh that sucks then bave them build there own big block and see how much hp there making. But keep up the good work

    Interesting thanks luv the videos! Seems traditional valve angle BBCs like the larger intake valve. Perhaps as the port gets straighter (9° vs 26/24°) the coefficient of discharge matters more?

      @sc358. Год назад

      @@musclebone7875 Vizard has some good stuff for the more conventional builds. Agree with how he tends to use a tighter lobe separation with less duration (but similar overlap) on most builds.
      Think as you get into more modern race heads someone like Darin Morgan is a good source

    Still hoping for a budget true oval 260-270 head for us street BBC guys. If it's Chinesium, so be it. We just want a lighter aluminum head to replace our 049/781 boat anchors. We just need something that performs about the same as a mildly ported GM iron head minus the weight. Most of us street guys don't spin our engines past 6000 anyway so the bigger 7500+ capable heads are more than we need.
    The Brodix Race Rites and AFR 265's are awesome heads but, not easy on the wallet for guys with kids and a mortgage. 😁

    It's interesting for sure. The valve size and compression ratio difference should account for more then a 20 horsepower difference though. So something Is right with the enforcer head. 2.30 valve. And shave .003 off the heads should bring you to about 118cc for the AFR would be really interesting to see on that motor run again. If they truly were equil and no valve float issue where these engines would end up

    • @WeingartnerRacing
      @WeingartnerRacing  Год назад +1

      The afr are not even close. Their port design sucks. To get the same chamber size you would have to mill off .018 on the enforcer to get to 119cc. Besides the horsepower the torque sucked too. It was the worst off all of the heads tested.

  • @kingoftheplanet392
    @kingoftheplanet392 Год назад

    How much difference in horsepower and torque do you think the small amount of compression ratio between the two heads being 119 and 123 could make you think that could make up a 10 horsepower difference then it's a little bit more comparable but the flow on the exhaust of those pro Max is outstanding

      @sc358. Год назад

      @@OGAussieBirdman it's gonna make more than enough power to put a big ol smile on ur face. At 1.25-1.3hp/cube which is fairly achievable that's 675-700ish hp. A pretty good effort on pump gas na could be closer to 1.6hp/cube with conventional valve angle head but that's not common, more on E85...
      540 cubes with conventional heads would probably like something around 106 LCA NA, on pump gas type compression. Duration I'd consider via overlap depending on other parts and what you're doing (like rpm...)
      What's the rest of your build? Advertised duration (would guess an efi cam like 309/314, 114/112?), intake, what head, carb, headers, compression?

    I've run a LOT of hybrid (solid pressure fed lifter usually morel) hyd roller combo on street for 10s of thousands of miles at 0 lash cold....
    You HAVE to run up near the non billet cam core max over the nose pressures to get the benefits, if you don't run enough spring it will nose over exactly where the hyd lifter usually gives up around, drum roll 6200-6300 no matter how big your cam and ive done it with AFR 305cc among others....to 7500 on a 468ci and even boosted.....
    Get close to what the core can handle, get a high quality ( ive even used the dissimilar metal bushing type like EZ rolls ) with direct pressure fed oiling ( made a huge difference in true street durability), and the induction/cam timing events are your limitation....assuming good geometry....
    Not solid roller pressures just under...the last combo I had a hyd roller profile ground on a billet core with an F1A-94 blower and the sky was the limit on rpm or power....lasted years and still running to next guy ( that had a brodix head on it)...
    Man with that low lift cam been nice to see it with 25-30 more lbs and lighter valve train...ive even changed rockers and moved rpm to peak...I fought this for 20 years..I got some high dollar hyd rollers to 6500rpm BUT its gonna tick cold or tick hot....my setup at a light zero pure cold lash was SO silent you can't even imagine it...
