Amazing place and great camp setup! Great cook kit and the wind is going back and forth but good thing you have a good tent my friend. Cheers and all the best
Thanks for your comment. I love my Akto, it’s my go to tent for most outings. I have a few different stoves. If doing a cook-up I love using my petrol stove, a Primus OmniFuel Ti with a 8” GSi frying pan 👍🏻😉
Great Video and Akto is cracking. Top tip for the exped. Burn a small hole 🕳 in the bottom of the stuff sack. The sleep pad will slip in a lot easier 👍🏻 Great rucksack 🎒
Good to see you back out on Dartmoor Ant and with good company. From the first shots of your camp it looked like you were on quite a slope and thought you may need a sleep belay but later shots showed it a lot flatter. Well done. Regards Keith
Great video buddy, nice production. Managed to get out myself on Tuesday, first one since lockdown. Great to be back out isn't it. Look forward to future videos, thumbs up from me 👍
Thanks Dave for the comment & 👍🏻 It certainly is great to be able to camp in the open again. Looking forward to heading out again this weekend, ATB Ant 😉
@@mountains_and_moors enjoy buddy, I'm out again this weekend. My camp from Tuesday is live at 6.30pm tonight. A proper piss wet through experience. But hell I've missed it. 😂 ATB Dave 👍
A good soaking is why my mates labelled me ‘The Jinx’. Every time they took me out it pissed down! Good weather hopefully this weekend, planning a 2 nighter with minimum gear. Bivi time 🙂
Had the jacket for a couple of years now. Purchased after the soaking we all had at Nuns Cross. Wait for his vid, I recon several piss takes ref my rucksack!!!
Most views I have ever had in a small time frame and gained +10 subs in the last 24 hours... I dunno why?!? Looking forward to getting out this weekend, joined by Elliot, Sandy & Si. Going to be my first time bivi’ing in the wild. Could be fun 😟
That was a quick turnaround for you Ant , camp at weekend vid out monday 👍 . I think the Akto gets some bad press but I like mine and find it well roomy for a small tent. Looked a decent overnighter and a good hike around Dartmoor talking bollocks lol I'm hoping to hit the hills this friday ⛺️ 👍🏻 atb Dave
Excellent video Ant. Perhaps the best you've done to date. Coming from me, that's a compliment. I've never found fault with the Akto. I lived in mine for a month in 2004, from Lands End to John O'Groats via Cape Wrath. Never a minute's problem. See ya Buddy, Noel
Took me over a year to get my ‘excellent’. Thanks Noel, honestly means a lot 😁 TBH my Akto is my go to tent. If summit plans in bad weather, bring on the Soulo... Can’t believe Hilleberg are releasing a Black Label version next year. You got to be super hardcore to need one of them. Hoping to get back on the moors this weekend with the bare minimum. Overnighter with a 20 litre rucksack with my Bivi set up 🤞🏻 we have no rain 🌧 We must catchup when possible 👍🏻 still smiling 😁
I dunno how I would get on with an Akto. I really think a good deal of the Soulo, and don't even have one. Too many great raving reviews out there on them in horrid weather I suppose.
@@l.v.i.bushcraftandsurvival6692 - I sold the Akto shortly after this video. Funds went to other gear. I do also have a Soulo but only took it out in the worst of conditions as the Akto usually got the invite. As I now only have the Soulo it will get taken on more dates. Learned to love using a bivi/tarp set up this year too.
Great vid. You may have just put me off the Levity. I’ve been waiting for them to come down in price but I’ve heard tales they might not be too robust.
The Levity is a great pack in the right location. Mine only lasted max 20 months. I wouldn’t recommend it for moors, mountains and definitely not the woods. Doesn’t deal well with scrapes or anything sharp. Really only suitable for long hikes where you need the size but want low weight (Southdowns Way, Ridgeway etc). Love rock climbing packs as they are stripped down n’ simple. Low weight but built to be dragged up and over rock faces. I hope you find the pack that works for you. Maybe the Levity is more suited to your needs 👍🏻😉
Dartmoor is full of running water and bogs even on the driest of days. An amazing place to explore. My Hilleberg Akto is my ‘go to’ tent for most camps. ATB Ant 👍🏻😉
ah yes a very neat cook-set. pretty surprised at osprey's reaction to their 'ultra light' gear falling apart in your hands. you can always trust the climbers to have light clobber.. just didn't realise they enjoyed having their retinas burnt out! well at least you won't get mistaken for a gazelle & end up on someone's wall
The silly bright colours are usually the ones on sale. This is why I purchased this colour for the rucksack as well as the ‘Signal Orange’ on the Bivi bag 🙂 The other benefit with the rock climbers rucksacks other than weight, they have been built to get dragged across rock faces so have the build quality. Glad you approve of this cook system. ATB Ant 👍🏻😉
It was a great steak 🥩 looking forward to getting out again soon (hopefully... assuming COVID rules get relaxed on 2nd December). Kit has changed since this vid, The Akto has gone. Do have a new vid to finish editing when I was in the Lake District... 👍🏻😉
Do you remember in the old days when we were younger...sleeping bags had to be rolled and not stuffed. It made the job so much more complicated and annoying. Being able to now *Stuff* them into bags in any which way is sooo much easier now. Thanks to modern fibers. Rob.
I am only 45 years young Rob. I don’t recall ever having to roll a sleeping bag, even as a child on family holidays! Sounds like a pain the the arse. Thanks for watching and the comment. ATB, Ant 👍🏻😉

Preferred this edit even with the 80’s tune. I love my new rucksack even if it can be seen from space. Wait to this weekend. Small orange rucksack and orange bivi is the plan.

cheeky bugger Ant

Thanks Keith. I think the slope was exaggerated with the wide angle lens... and maybe the tripod was on the piss!!!

@@mountains_and_moors awesome tent (Soulo) from everything I have seen. PS- I did a 25 second video blaming you for a snow storm LOL :-)

It's a leat that runs from a river even higher than we were, it feeds 30-40 houses just off the moor with their fresh water.
Looks forward to seeing more subscribed
Much appreciated 😄
Is that the rab mythic sleeping bag?were u sleeping with your head at the footbox lol?
lol, My hat happens to be the same colour 👍🏻😉

Music is a very personal thing. I liked it but many haven’t... It does tone down/become more suitable in the later vids 👍🏻😉
