This was a rough plane to spade, like extremely so; it made spading the lightning and the Jaguar gr1a feel like clown college by comparison. However, I still enjoy flying it. The radar is bad, but the adjustable angles are nice. I've found it can be a pretty potent turn fighter at close range, it can push over 800mph in a dive, and it can pull extreme G's without any risk of wing rips. While the aim7C is probably the worst sarh missile in game, it's occasionally capable of all aspect shots, and I've had a few kills on people going vertical while dumping flares (not chaff) with the sparrows. In a one on one turnfight, you're golden, but anyone with an energy advantage like you said will just stomp on you if they know what they're doing. The engine is awful, acceleration is decent but you always hit a brick wall around 0.9 mach, which is especially frustrating to me because the airframe itself is completely capable of supersonic speeds and high G's. While I enjoy this plane, I attribute most of my success on enemies being stupid rather than my own skill. I enjoy it, at least about half the time I fly it, (I still think it looks sick) but you are very correct that most people will not have fun with this thing.

Idk man, I never miss my bomb targets with the demon. It's incredibly stable for very low angle dive bombing. It isn't really diving, but basically here's how you know where the bomb will hit. At 750kmph or more, when your nose is down, look at the tip of the tail/rudder. Where the tail is, that is where the bombs will land almost every single time. Below that it'll land just about where your landing gear typically will be. However if you're using 1000lb bombs and up, release earlier and pull straight back into the air, because the shrapnel WILL hit and kill you. As far as missile go, the sidewinders are better on this aircraft than the sparrow because they can track anything at low altitude.
I have this and something worse is you need face “the flying tanks” or SU-25 which not only have two R-60’s and F3H2 got not counter measures and it’s very difficult to kill SU-25 for me
the real problem with the plane is not anything about its performance, its the fact its 14k to repair and that makes it harder to use in the game. but whatever gaijiooobs.
I am suprised you did not like the Cockpit. The unhindered vision was something the real pilots credited to the plane, they only called it "The Chair". I was so amazed by it back then, didn't even know they gave it sparrows
Honestly, I think most of it is where they put the pilot's head, so to speak. Playing inside the cockpit in VR mode felt really odd in this one compared to other jets.
Out of curiosity how do you get the radar tracking acquisition to stay up for so long, when I try to aquire locks (the flashing box corners) it switches itself off a second after I continue to hold down the button, so getting a lock is a bit hit and miss for me (even when there's a strong signal)
A lot of these vehicles started out strong in the meta when they were first introduced, then quickly got destroyed in power creep and nobody plays them ... so the "stats" on the vehicle still look very favorable on paper, and for some insane reason thats what the snail bases repair costs on ....
I think the Demon would be fine if it weren't for the repair cost, its ridiculous. Now, I actually really like the demon, Especially after getting the Crusader. The guns are solid and have lots of ammo. And I LOVE that I can fucking throw this thing around as hard as I want. The high flaps max deploy speed is great. Don't ever use the AIM-7's. Only bring 2 AIM-9b's. If you survive the air battle, pick up the rocket pods on rearm, they are great for pillbox busting. Also, good luck if you take any wing damage, this thing will fall like a rock if its lift is compromised. No really.
Used to play the Demon alot in the past, was my first real experience with Aim-9B's in a decent airframe, it just felt awesome coming from the shit-box that is the F9F Cougar when i played it at 9.3, played a ton of it and liked it, but now i dislike to play it as it is to slow for 9.7 - but atleast the wings never ripped on me - unlike the F8U-2 where it rips so often and you have to baby the airframe and avoid high G's.
"the shit-box that is the F9F Cougar " i have to disagree, think i have my best K/D in the F9F. imo its pretty easy to get reversals but i can see why people would dislike it

A-5's and J35's are just outright clubbing the F3H. You just have to keep speed, run no more than two missiles, and no more than 20 minutes of fuel. Never be the first to engage. Be willing to take some distant shots. I've had plenty top down shots as someone is pulling hard G's in a flat turn. .8km hits are really satisfying. I've somehow maintained a positive K/D, but it sure doesn't feel like it. Not to mention the ridiculous repair cost of over 15k lions.
Ouch.... this plane and many others struggle from how compressed BRs are right now. Perhaps it would be okay at 9.7 if things were super uncompressed, but... p a i n
I absolutely beat the shit out of people with the F3H a few weeks ago. I did encounter a bunch of A5Cs but they were mostly on my team. It turns like mad, it's got a great radar (great because it exists.) and its guns... *holy shit* they kill stuff. I wish it was in a good placement away from 30G missiles and supersonics but I don't really know of many aircraft that they could pit it against.
I main the F3H and almost have the Ace qual for it and disagree on most parts, its turn rate is fantastic and as long has you have full afterburn on all the time, which is not a problem, you will not encounter a stall issue. Second IT IS THE ONLY FIGHTER TO GET RADAR GUIDED MISSILES AT THE BR!!!!! Yes they are not great but people in jet tier have a hard on for head ons and with the sparrows I welcome them and they die, unless they are a MIG-21 which is impossible to lock for some reason. Third I do want to agree with the radar, it holds back the sparrows and makes it impossible to use them at longe range even at high alt. Fourth I have not yet taken this plane into enough ground matches to say whether or not it can really support its payload options. Fifth YOU DO NOT NEED A BOMB TARGETING COMP, ANYONE THAT HAS REACHED THE F3H SHOULD HAVE EXPENCE DROPPING BOMB/ROCKETS. The F3H is my favorite plane in the game so far its speed is not great but it is enough to keep you in the fight and it gets unique missiles at the BR that people either do not know how to deal with or do not know what they can do.
Currently the F-4C is just 0.3br above the demon and outperforms it in every aspect by a mile. I'm a huge demon fan, have the free ace qualification with it, but facts are facts. It is currently both overtiered and powercrept.
Damn, this is kinda a shame since I was kind of looking forward to finally getting that plane after the Phantoms. Heard it was like an American Hunter and the 3000 it holds really peaked my interest.
at even a higher BR and still with no flares? no thanks. use the f-4e or f-8e. Rank VI is a black hole that should be avoided at all costs in the American air tree.
i've left a few comments on his other videos telling him the trick where you pull negative g's to cancel out the positive g blackout. either he hasn't read them or doesn't understand what i mean... but yeah, watching someone start blacking out in a turn only to keep pulling g's feels like nails on a chalkboard.
@@flynntaggart8549 I know, and I have few problems in a dogfight as long as I manage my energy well and avoid pulling lead and dropping flaps at every possible moment when the enemy is kilometers away. The main thing that makes this thing suck is the fact it goes against AIM-9J's and R-60's.
Well, the alternative is to stop turning, and get turned-in-on even faster. As for what Flynn mentioned, same thing applies but S is also my throttle-down key, so ... pitch nose-down at low alt on landing when I'm trying to play with my throttle? .... that won't work for me.
@@TimsVariety Blacking-out is far worse for turning than slightly relieving pressure on the elevator for a split second, and it retains more energy. You don't need to always pull lead to win a turn-fight. All you have to do is tap W (or whatever your pitch down key is) quickly a couple times and you avoid blacking out and dumping all your energy. Keep your crosshair behind the opponent until you're close enough to actually get a shot off, _and then_ pull lead. I hope I don't come off as patronizing, but we all have a little left to learn no matter how long we've been playing.

The engine technically has a decent thrust output, i think its just a heavy jet
Same thing in this situation.
@@major_kukri2430 yeah it do be like that
And 18k repair as always for allies nations!!
Will you review the Mig 21 F13?
Just got it today, it’s pretty fun if you have some experience and a good team. But most of the time it’s outclassed.
I am waiting for you talk about the phantom fgr2
It will be a while, the Brits are my least-developed tree.
I have this and something worse is you need face “the flying tanks” or SU-25 which not only have two R-60’s and F3H2 got not counter measures and it’s very difficult to kill SU-25 for me
Ah the Demon!
the real problem with the plane is not anything about its performance, its the fact its 14k to repair and that makes it harder to use in the game. but whatever gaijiooobs.
I did notice that sim lobbies had the option to make 11.7 to 13.0 vehicles forbidden, so maybe gijian has some br decompression ideas for the future
Well at least I know what I'm getting in to. If this must be a sacrifice on the road to F-4J, so be it!
The sad part is you still can do better in an up tier against American planes than you can in a down-tier piloting them.
The interior reminded me of the vehicles from Avatar
4x sparrow loadout gang where you at?
Very nice. Thank you.
Should have watched this before grinding the shit out of this aircraft
can you make video on G 91YS? it's another 9.7 suffering in this BR mess
What about it now being at 9.3?
With the su25 and a10 in almost all of your games this thing is nearly unplayable in rb
maybe with the new compression with rank 8 coming way, maybe it could be competitive playing aggressively

I love this plane
Man, if this plane had a J79. . .
Out of curiosity how do you get the radar tracking acquisition to stay up for so long, when I try to aquire locks (the flashing box corners) it switches itself off a second after I continue to hold down the button, so getting a lock is a bit hit and miss for me (even when there's a strong signal)
You're not supposed to hold the button
Also, there are keybinds to lock without using ACM mode
Thats the ACM Boresight mode.
I don't understand the repair costs of this thing
A lot of these vehicles started out strong in the meta when they were first introduced, then quickly got destroyed in power creep and nobody plays them ... so the "stats" on the vehicle still look very favorable on paper, and for some insane reason thats what the snail bases repair costs on ....
@@TimsVariety but then they should adapt their methology to only include the stats of the last 3 months
@@emmata98 I agree 1000% , but it'll never happen.
Making the SL economy more player-friendly is just something they'll never do.
Gaijin likes to make the economy suck for players Now you understand
No really.
All's fun and games till he starts sniping with sparrows at altitude
Used to play the Demon alot in the past, was my first real experience with Aim-9B's in a decent airframe, it just felt awesome coming from the shit-box that is the F9F Cougar when i played it at 9.3, played a ton of it and liked it, but now i dislike to play it as it is to slow for 9.7 - but atleast the wings never ripped on me - unlike the F8U-2 where it rips so often and you have to baby the airframe and avoid high G's.
"the shit-box that is the F9F Cougar "
i have to disagree, think i have my best K/D in the F9F. imo its pretty easy to get reversals but i can see why people would dislike it
I used to kinda like it and was really excited when it received its sparrows but yeah.. :(
How were you able to unlock from your friendly? Never figured out how to do that
The key bind "weapon lock (air to air)" will work as a toggle and can un-lock a friendly.
@@TimsVariety Really? Even if they’re radar locked? Never thought about trying it after so many years, but I’ll look into it, thanks
@@TimsVariety tried it out in a match and it works; don’t know why I ever tried it out in so many years, but whatever the case, thanks for the intel :)
@@bubblesofthecoast6393 Yeah its kindof counterintuitive, but it works like a toggle. I'm planning to explicitly mention it when I eventually re-do my video on using missiles (now that a few new types have been added)
@@TimsVariety Least it’s in the game; went so long thinking it wasn’t a thing yet I saw so many people online change targets with ease. Anyways, I’ll look forward to that revised video of yours, whenever it comes out :)
So its not just me thats struggling, man the grind t0 F4 is fucking crazy :/
I was playing sim and got a kill in it.
It’s bad in general but it’s charming, like the F-105. I like it cause it’s kinda fun but I would not recommend it
its a shame because its such a good looking aircraft, it needs to be back at 9.3.
That's a very cool looking jet, but sadly it's also one of the shittier ones to use.
Doesn't this thing turn really well?
.... once .... then its a brick
@@TimsVariety damn, I better not sleep on the Skyray, then. I really want to play a dedicated fighter at this BR range but US Rank VI is kind of... Eh.
This is my favorite plane
What
It sucks
@@moroguin1331 to be a favourite doesn't mean it needs to be good.
@@moroguin1331 it may suck but the dopamine rush you get when the aim7c actually works is second to none
Ouch.... this plane and many others struggle from how compressed BRs are right now. Perhaps it would be okay at 9.7 if things were super uncompressed, but... p a i n
Great review! I will skip this one looks like. I mean, its looks alone kinda make me not want to fly it.
This thing is a free kill in my f-8
This plane is great at sim air battles
I absolutely beat the shit out of people with the F3H a few weeks ago. I did encounter a bunch of A5Cs but they were mostly on my team. It turns like mad, it's got a great radar (great because it exists.) and its guns... *holy shit* they kill stuff. I wish it was in a good placement away from 30G missiles and supersonics but I don't really know of many aircraft that they could pit it against.
It’s a shame that this thing has such a cool look lmao. This and the us f104s are both horrific to play but cool to look at
Well.....Shit......i just spent all my SE on it... then watched this review.... shit..... 😢😅
This may be a hot take but the looks of this aircraft grew on me and i now think it looks rather cool
The only time I get killed by it is from very skilled pilots or when im already in a dogfight
I only do play sim but I was genuinely surprised you don't like the demon. It's my favorite jet in this b.r again in sim tho..
It's back down to 9.3 and still has all the same problems :D
it whos greate on 9.3
9.0 at most.
@@stoyantodorov2133 the f4 is a flying brick and the play style is far different than the f3h
@@GRIMM-lo7ce even though the F4 is a brick, its still has so much thrust over the demon that nothing else matters.

I should revisit this plane
Can you review the Vickers mk3 please
do jaguar a
Not sure but I I think that f4c has aim7c too
Thats the Aim7D
Damn, this is kinda a shame since I was kind of looking forward to finally getting that plane after the Phantoms. Heard it was like an American Hunter and the 3000 it holds really peaked my interest.
It might have a place in ground RB as a bomb truck / CAS, but ... without the ballistics computer ...
This plane was honestly the most disappointing aircraft I ever had the misfortune to buy and then crew, second place being the f9f-8 (stock at least)
Why do I always pick the shittyest planes
If you want to use sparrows just get the f4c
at even a higher BR and still with no flares? no thanks. use the f-4e or f-8e. Rank VI is a black hole that should be avoided at all costs in the American air tree.
@@melc311the f4c is fine, fly high where you are superior and just avoid all aspects and boom you are fine
Why do you always make your pilot lose control... Disturbs me in several ways.
i've left a few comments on his other videos telling him the trick where you pull negative g's to cancel out the positive g blackout. either he hasn't read them or doesn't understand what i mean... but yeah, watching someone start blacking out in a turn only to keep pulling g's feels like nails on a chalkboard.
@@CowBeatsCrow If it makes the commenters happy, I'll see if I can find a convenient keybind to try it, and see how it goes. I'm nothing if not open minded.
F3h is more like at 8.7 or 8.3
This review would have turned out MUCH different at 8.7
You want this thing to bully 7.7's and 7.3's? I think it would fit alright at 9.0, or at least better than at 9.7 where it usually faces Phantoms and Fishbeds.
No. It's 9.3 or even 9.0. It'll simply club 7.7 and 7.3 if it was in the BRs you just mentioned.
Sounds like skill isue
I have a 2K/D and love it
Love your videos and dont get too stresst out by playing war thunder
Just remember the Soviets first radar missle is 10’3
And it’s useful the sparrow is dis
why the fuck would they put a subsonic with no flares and aim9bs at 9.7? because some gimicky aim7C?
