Just a year and a half ago he was supposed to be Australia's 3rd regular pacer in the world cup. Thanks to a shoulder injury not only did he missed the world cup, but also isn't considered for selection anymore. That's really harsh.
He would not get chance in world cup if there would be starc cummins Hazelwood
as a "pom" I would much rather our white ball side of last year either format face Hazelwood than peak Richardson, red ball Hazelwood is no.1 or 2 in any side in the world - the batsman knows where the ball is being bowled on landing yet not a slightest clue when it hits the deck - ball after ball after ball, when there's something in the pitch its literally a case of every delivery has likely got your name on and an over feels like a session but, our white ball batters down to 8 or 9 will literally almost get out to the pitch and swing at such ferocity that even any movement connecting with any willow is going over the ropes wether its 180 degrees in the unintended direction, whereas try that with Jhye walking down to an anticipated outside top of off and he's took your leg stump last minute adjustment - if he has decided to allow you to keep your face intact that is. Horses for Courses - arguably combined our white ball 2022 and our red ball 2022/23 is head and shoulders the best all round team in the world in a multiformat series - yet if you look at both sides the crossover is minimal i.e our red ball attack Anderson and Broad are literally record breaking best of a generation yet aren't even eligible for white ball and then add Mark Wood arguably the fastest on the planet whereas Topley, Curran brothers, Chris Jordan and Tymal Mills bar maybe Sam Curran for left arm seam none of them stand a chance lasting more than 10 overs if even 5 with a red ball having no consistent control like a 100 ball in a row on a 10p piece like Anderson or Hazelwood exploiting the same brutal square 4 inches grazing either edge every other ball. The video proof is on here - have a look at Richardsons 5 wicket 2021/22 ashes test and then compare it to a Hazelwood - I'm sure every wicket (to a shocking England line-up 70% now replaced) is not remotely close - pick any Hazelwood 5 for and each one is caught at slip.Richardson for me was on track to be no.1 white baller in the world for a decade but as with many cruel sporting careers i.e one of our best ever Football strikers Micheal Owen - get him on the pitch he was a Liverpool, Real Madrid and Man Utd world class player - IF you could get him on the pitch, lets hope its not the case for Richardson, when he's fit and on show he needs to play like his next game is irrelevant and his last to make himself undroppable 1st choice as he was on course to be over Hazelwood, Starc and if not captain and purely based on short format huge game moment bowler maybe even Cummins - mind you - with Maxwell as a spinner then picking all 4 would make batting very easy and quick for a chasing Aussie side.
Slightly off topic - I love watching the Aussie test side (despite retaining the ashes on a default washout to an out of site England side in THAT test making it 3-2 England that is a crime towards sporting great moments, potential new generational audiences that could have and should have given the stakes on offer go into day 6 and 7 to get a result when it makes zero difference or has no argument not to be played - players rest is the same with the washed out days off, tickets transferrable or revenue evened out by tv figures - imagine it being 2-2 final test, you've completely sold the game to a new viewer who gets to the 5th and final day of the deciding test with both teams having both results 50/50 and one team lifts the trophy or the Urn by way of weather default win based on the side of 2 years previous result - I'd apologise for ever showing them such a travesty) but massively short story long, if I could take only 1 player from Australia to have an actually unbeatable test side - Marnus please, bat the entire innings and the rest of the side t20 mode around him, then literally worth 5 fielders! @@mailknazarmuhammad542

Nah. Maxwell is a one day and a 20/20 batsmen. Patience is for test cricket. In one day cricket you have to hit what you can and keep the run rate up. This is exactly why he's such a good batsman

Never understand why Aussies need to wear sweaters while playing cricket. Even in winter, Aussie winters must be like English summers. And I never wore a sweater if the temperature was above 15°c, not even if I was fielding.
