The moment Kiana goes full HoV Mei realizes this entire fight was a gigantic mistake, but now has no choice but to finish it off. And the emotional emptiness of both characters in the next several chapters makes this scene so much worse.

@@kunfupandarofl no one told her that, it's normal in Japanese culture to not use other people's work for their own content without asking first. Please don't say nonsense and spread misinformation. Other streamers streamed with full audio AFTER knowing that they won't get copyright struck.

I think Mei did that cuz if Kiana keeps on using her hov powers she might hurt herself
Because Kiana was using HoV's power again, which was the entire reason Mei joined WS in the first place. She had to end the fight fast or else Kiana will be in danger.
Mei had to. Kiana was going down a suicide path and she already disregarding her own live without thinking what it would do to those around her
I'll never forget when i got HOv on the seventh day of my first gameplay, it was mei's birthday and i got HOT in the beginner's pull too, at that time it felt like desitny for those two to be on the same day, little did I know how important they would be in the later chapters lmao *sob*
I love that the Captain in the story is so powerless, only able to witness everything. We are the Immortal Observer just like Viral from TTGL.

sadly seper is correct, player-captain does not exist as part of the main cannon timeline
which is why in all the cutscenes and dialogue of the main story the captain never has a part
with either Himeko or Theresa occupying the role of overseeing the Hyperion

I kinda like it, rather than a main protagonist, we’re just seeing THEIR story which I like way more and I wouldn’t want that to change

To be honest, I’ve disliked Mei ever since becoming Herrscher of Thunder. She for real threw away her humanity, just goes to show how much the honkai has ruined their lives I guess.
The way I see it, it shows how even the good people will turn against the world for the sake of what's most important to them when they feel they've been pushed to the wall and they can either die helplessly or spit in the world's face and take it down with them. I think Mei's tragedy is very well written but also feel she kind of fizzled out in later chapters, got shelved in favor of it being about Otto and Kevin again.
To be fair, that was the only way she could protect Kiana at the time, and Kiana is the only person she cares about
@@abadenoughdude300 agreed. hopefully we get more of her soon, her whole arc was great but then she just got shelved after being sent off into the ER lol
@@wonwookisses Tbh, I’ve only just recently started getting into the story, so there is a lot I dont know, one of which is how Mei got into the situation of getting into the ER, what happened to her after the Ice herrscher arc, and what she does after ER.
Honestly just kinda waiting until Mei and Kiana finally reunite, like what’ll they do?
